    • Most mental sports such as chess, poker, and memory competitions are dominated by people in their 20s and 30s, just as in physical sports. It is rare for someone in their 40s to regularly beat the younger players. Brad is not nearly the player he was ten years ago.

    • @@urbanlegendsandtrivia2023 Brad just won a tournament like 2 years ago. His mind is fine. He did so poorly because A: these were an entirely different level of clues than they usually use and B: he couldn't adapt to James's fast on the buzzer and huge daily double style of play as well as Ken did. You could see him in the first game of each episode frantically trying to buzz in and almost never getting it. You could also see him basically giving up during each second game because what was the point when he was guaranteed a quarter million for showing up and it was a clear two man race. Remember that he came in last when he and Ken played Watson, mostly because Watson was great on the buzzer. My point A above is, I think, the real reason why Ken didn't seem as sharp as usual.

The fact that James could steamroll any other player with half the knowledge is amazing. Props to ken but we all know who the best is.

      @ZbagdoesMC@ZbagdoesMC4 жыл бұрын
    • @@ZbagdoesMC you're just being sour grapes and making excuses because your favourite player lost. There actually was a sports category first of all, so you obviously weren't paying attention. Secondly, Shakespeare is a MAJOR category that appears often. If James isn't good at Shakespeare that's kind of a red flag because that's one of the things you really should know before coming on the show. • I would love it if they had "matches" like this more frequently - While the student & teacher events can be fun, for me it is great to be able to watch contestants who are so good competing with others of similar skill. I am a big James fan, but I hadn't watched Ken during his long run. I was very impressed with the breadth of his knowledge. I also like the interactions among the three. I think they were having a lot of fun. I hope the ratings were superb - we are all praying for Alex's health, and love that he had the chance to host this terrific event.

  • The level of competition between James and Ken, and the show of absolute brilliance and intelligence Ken put on, made going back to regular Jeopardy hard to digest. These guys were throwing down true daily doubles at every chance they had and wagering massive points on final Jeopardy, missing very few answers, and attacking the high values against each other from the start. Brad was unfortunately out of his league, and his record earnings was the result of winning many high dollar championships rather than hitting consecutive game streaks like Ken and James. But it was still by far the most interesting Jeopardy tournament ever, and I’ve been watching the show since the mid-90s. Tough to go back to $500 wagers on $2000 in final Jeopardy!

    @joe6096@joe60964 жыл бұрын
    • Actually Brad destroyed Ken head-to-head in two of his five victorious tournaments. His brain just didn't age as well, as he was a much better player ten years ago. Also, he had to retire after five days back when he played, and probably would have won at least 20 straight matches.
