Honestly it kinda bothers me that Ken Jennings didn't get the job because of "past tweets". People need to learn to let stuff go. Everyone makes mistakes, it's stupid that we no longer allow people room to learn from their mistakes. This P.C. culture crap has gotten way out of hand. People will ruin the lives of other just because their feelings are hurt. Do we really think continuing to hurt others is the answer? We should give the ignorant a chance to learn.
It doesn't bother me more like it saddens me with Ken Jennings
@@DillonColtMusic not the most charismatic person but yeah, they should pick who they want ...people will watch regardless.....the executive producer ahouldve just stuck it out,the nonsense wouldve blown over
Notice how Alex Trebek’s biggest controversy was him shaving his mustache, and after he died, all hell broke loose. We lost a good one, RIP dude.
His response was priceless. “Get a life”. 😂 God bless you Alex.
The great thing about Alex was that he never wanted to be the feature of the show. He made it all about the game and the contestants. There will certainly never be another Alex Trebek, but I for one will continue watching for as long as possible since I care about the game itself and not the host at the lectern.
@@kathleenbergin8427 I can see him saying, “People care about my facial hair. What is get a life ladies and gentlemen?”
I will say that Ken Jennings probably would have made a great permanent host and probably would have done Alex trebek proud.
He’s my choice of the guest hosts that I’ve seen.
No reason why he shouldn't have been.
Nothing sadder then a host with a lisp.
And still does make a good host.
Rest In peace Alex Trebek you will not only be missed but you will always be known as the true face of Jeopardy forever
May want to check the third word there.

Why does cancer take away great people? Alex Trebek was amazing....
Bob Barker stops dying his hair: Everyone applauds his decision Alex Trebek shaves his mustache: OMGWTF!
It’s funny to see him on “Concentration” with his moustache given I eventually got used to his clean shaven look. When I was little he did still have it for a while
When did Bob Barker dye his hair
@@hunteradams2123 Look up Bob Barker's first show where he has his natural hair
I'm surprised Dr. Oz's guest host appearance didn't make this list
It was acknowledged at the beginning of the show.
Help out with that one.
I couldn't watch.
Dr Oz. Yuck.
Rest In Peace, Alex Trebek. Many Can Try, None Can Capture The Same Charm You Had
Precisely my point 🙂
I feel as if the issues Mike Richards faced were bigger than Ken Jennings
No way, dude. Jennings erroneously thought Trump was going to start a war and basically said whomever he starts a war with, he hopes they bomb the Midwest and the South. How do you hope bombing and killing innocent Americans just because of who they voted for is even a joking matter?
@@ScottieContact why do I have this feeling you weren't this strongly appalled when we were bombing countries in the middle east....but hey I could be wrong

I miss Alex so much. I never met him, but he always felt like a friend to me and my family. When I was little, my parents told me I knew it was time to go to bed when the Final Jeopardy theme played. Later, he helped spur my pursuit for knowledge and trivia. I hope his family knows he was loved immensely by the world.
RIP Alex, you shall never be topped as the host of this program. They will try, but it won’t be the same
Just give the host job to Jennings. He's the GOAT and he earned it.
Can't, he has another show on ABC
@@GH32143 Ken Hosted 2 days a week , 23 weeks a season , so There would be more space to him to work on the chase.
I cheered when they came to their senses and gave it to Ken!
First time i've heard about any controversy regarding Jennings. Because yeah, on paper, he seems like the ideal substitute.
I just realized it would be super, super awesome and funny to have a Celebrity Jeopardy. I can almost see celebrities bombing every question and looking ridiculous. It'd be amazing.
Feel like I missed the joke...
@@ahub87There's no joke. I'm not a fan of national TV let alone Jeopardy so I didn't know there was specials of Celebrity Jeopardy. But after all I'm talking about a full show dedicated to celebrities not just a special.

They actually used to. Wonder why they retired it.
RIP Alex Trebek. Now, Jeopardy needs Buzzy Cohen.
I haven't heard about half these controversies. It's a shame what happened with Ken Jennings though oh man. I did however hear that matpat wanted to host Jeopardy I'm definitely for that
But that’s just a theory A film theory
I would say the show screwing over Ken & James’s winning streaks, but that isn’t confirmed.
So... for a show that's been on for like 50 years it seems like half this list is about stuff that happened this year.
Great video and I enjoyed it and have a blessed day
I remember Art Fleming and his “And The Answer Is!”
I didn't even know he had a mustache and apparently that's a controversy? That's crazy!
Arthur Chu was not the only one to bounce around the board. Ken Jennings, James Holzhauer and Chuck Forrest all used the same strategy as Chu
Exactly! It was called the “Forrest bounce” for a reason. Sidenote: I did not know Ken used it, I always thought he used the traditional “top to bottom” strategy. (Then again I only watched a couple Ken episodes.)
I’m surprised that they didn’t mention when the show eliminated the five day limit for returning champions back in 2003. I recall it was very controversial at the time, and killed the appeal for a lot of fans.
We can never replace Alex Trebek, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have Jeopardy! Heck, if Val Kilmer can replace his voice with a computer, we can have a holographic Trebek up there someday.
How did the Emancipation Proclamation debacle not appear here lmao
I thought it would appear on the list, I guess not
I agree and that word is hard to pronounce and spell.
How did "Jeopardy! '78" not make the list? This short-lived version almost killed the franchise outright with how awful it was, at least by Jeopardy! standards, anyway.
I'm surprised that one kid spelling "Emancipation Proclamation" wrong didn't make the list.
That kid had the same name as my nephew!
The fact that most of these come from 2021 just shows how oversensitive people on social media are. It's truly the bane of our society.
Absolutely. The past few years it's really gotten bad with how sensitive people can be.
I love your videos!! They are amazing. Stay safe out there everyone ❤️💜
Good video watch mojo is a good channel 👌👍
I’m totally out of the loop. Istanbul is a pejorative?
Here is the truth about Art Fleming and Alex Trebek, as I have watched all the seasons: This video made Art Fleming seem like a villain, but he was wildly popular. In fact, Alex Trebek was hated at first, because he took Art Fleming's job, and people thought Alex Trebek was too brash and cocky. Later Alex Trebek became a popular host. It was very similar to how people hated Jack Nicklaus when he came along and started beating Arnold Palmer, but later Jack Nicklaus became a respected golfer. By the way, Art and Alex were buddies, Art even recommended Alex for the job, and sadly they both died of pancreatic cancer.
Let's be honest, Jeopardy! is no longer the same.
One of the funniest moments recently, is nobody knowing what the Denmark flag looked like. I kept screaming at the TV - DENMARK! Not even the guy who was on the big streak got it right lmao.
Rest In Peace Alex Trebek
No.1 Kebert Xela
Anyone who says Wimbleton should be immediately removed from the game
As far as the Gettysburg address goes. It's in kindergarten cop people. Get cultured.
I've seen quite a few instances of Final Jeopardy where none of the contestants knew the correct answer, but I thought it were quite easy.
Clue: This human error caused a Kids Week contestant to be penalized during a 2013 Final Jeopardy! clue. Answer: What is Misspelling?
Did not cost the kid a thing. He was a distant second going into Final and still would have finished second even if they had overlooked the misspelling.
Surprised nothing was said about the kid who misspelled Emancipation Proclamation.
Ken jennings should be the pernament host
Thank God he is! Now I can watch.❤
One thing is clear when viewing this list: some of the Jeopardy fans will complain about EVERYTHING imaginable. Though we can also say Chu is a huge scumbag because of his affiliation with some very slimy individuals who are dead set against media transparency and would use their clout in media to threaten and harass anyone from publishing critical articles about them,, and using third party blocklists on Twitter to purge out anyone who had or would have the guts to call him on it.
Matt Amodio responding with "What's" every damn time!!
Jealous you are not that smart.
I kept waiting for Sean Connery to chime in
Now Do Wheel Of Fortune! That Show's Got To Be Full Of Scandal!
Don't worry after he loses in another 2 to 5 months the number 1 controversy will definitely be Matt Amidos answering every question with "What is" lol
I'm from Louisiana I have never said Wimbleton, also he knew the answer and how to spell it he would have gotten it right.
One of my favorite jeopardy comments came from a video of Ken Jennings’s final jeopardy, “Oh my god, she killed Kenny.”
Remember when cliff clavin was on jeopardy?
"Who are three people who have never been in my kitchen?"
What is I love Jeopardy but damn I wish they could make up their minds about the new host.😶🌫️ I wanna watch it again?
Same here. I won't watch until they have a permanent host. I have watched a few times but not much.
I feel like before this year they probably didn't have enough material for a full list tbh.
How is the Wimbledon one controversial? The answer was just wrong. It's like saying the American grand slam is the US Oven.
I agree. If an answer is New York and the contestant said New Hork they would rule against them.
@@ZacRitnerAnimeFan93 I doubt there are many accents that change ds to ts (the other way round, sure). Just watched again and he can clearly pronounce a d in "that's what I'd like to do". If he'd said the capital of England was Lonton I don't think you could blame an accent.
I can't take these endless programs serious anymore!!!!!!!
Rest in peace Alex Trebek.
What is picking the host of Mike Richard's as host?
Contestant: I'll take accused of for 200 Ellen: "This former executive producer turned game show host quit after one day for rigging a contest in his favor, he was later dismissed as executive producer", Greg" Greg: "Who is Mike Richard's". Ellen: "That is correct".
I didn't like the episode when they marked someone wrong for the garden of Gethsemane and gave it to the next contestant whose pronunciation was definitely off. They pick and choose what they will let sly on the account of pronunciation and this time I think that they were 100% wrong. I also felt that they were wrong when they asked a question about hours and the first one said, megawatts, the next one said kilowatts and the last one said gigawatts. The correct answer was kilowatt hours. They could have said be more specific and they would have said the hours. I'm sure that they felt that the hours was implied and there was no need to say it.
Well now Jennings is the current permanent host. Finally got it right.
Not all of these are moments. "Top 10 Jeopardy controversies" would be a more accurate title.
I never understood why people say "Wimbleton"
What about misspelling emancipation?
Many of these controversies are such for no reason.
If people want to complain about the easiness of Jeopardy, just audition for the show if you think you can do so well. If people want to complain about the difficulty of Jeopardy, make it a duty to learn something new and apply it the next time you watch it. Edit: Also, diddo what Alex said about the mustache 'controversy'. Do people really care that much about what people look like? Pete's sake!
I feel like this list misrepresented Jennings’ tweets and how offended people really were. He was making fun of conservatives rather than historically oppressed groups. Not to mention that he owned up to it rather quickly. While it’s possible it costed him the job, it did blow over rather quickly. Meanwhile, the two hosts they did get are far more offensive with having genuinely offensive remarks and pseudoscience, respectively.
Making fun of conservatives? Good God, man, he basically said he hoped the South got bombed!! That is not a joking matter. Remember that. Especially around this time of year.
He didn't own up to it quickly...it was SIX YEARS ago!
@@johnanderson9765 while true, I meant he owned up to it quickly after he got caught. Admittedly, it isn’t the greatest look but at least he didn’t double down or pretend he never said those things. That’s how it blew over quickly.
When you're so young, non stache trebek was normal trebek...
I never heard of the Ohio State thing
Wimbledon held every year since 1877, well apart from 1915 to 1918, 1940 to 1945 and 2020. I expect to see this video on the Watchmojo video that sparked controversy after such a flub
Art Fleming was an incredibly nice man and, in my opinion, the best host of Jeopardy! I very much resent this video’s portrayal of him because, even though he had the opinions he had, he was never so strong as to be rude about it. Also even with the opinions he had, he still found the new Jeopardy! to be: “one of the better shows on television”. I know I’m kind of ranting here, but the amount of times Fleming just gets swept under the rug kinda pisses me off.
Some yes, but I gave Aaron Rodgers a 🤕! So did Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, buzzy Cohen, David Faber! They were fine, but drought just keep going!
Interesting that most of these controversies were just people getting mad on the internet
What was the term that was considered offensive about the music of Istanbul?
It was about the itinerant people. Gypsies. Instead of Romany peoples.
@@davidtester3239 it’s confusing. The clip shows the contestant wrote “What is Istanbul?” The word Gypsy wasn’t used, unless they just didn’t show that part or something.
@@curtywash Yeah, I know it's confusing. Probably just the editing. They seemed for some reason to even show the word Gypsy. I'm surprised they didn't complain about the word Eskimo.

So, is Mayim Bialik still a permanent host? I didn't hear a thing about Ken Jennings after his brief hosting job
Nothing sadder then a host with a lisp.
You should have switched 1 and 2. Dishonorable mention: "Emanciptation Proclamation."
I never heard about the Ohio State thing.
The new host job should go to someone that doesn't already have a job.
I didn't even know that Ohio State U answer.
These scandals were as interesting as watching paint dry. Oh those offensive tweetts; give me a break. Never understand why Richards was thrown under the bus. As for a host, Big Bird could do the job. Personally, the most annoying thing was James Holshauer. The guy had a major attitude while on the show and it truly got boring to watch each night with him winning all the time.
I never knew how much Jeopardy fans need to get a life.
Plus in Number 3, Arthur Chu is also a Social Justice Warrior against the video games industry, in fact, when he appeared in the convention, he brought numerous security that he's feared to get killed by the haters (but the fans of Jeopardy and supporters of video games).
The word "Scandal" used to mean something like a married person having affairs, child molestation, single people having children, an actor or politician being a drunk or addict, or committing a murder, etc. Now it's saying a socially unacceptable word, or making a politically incorrect tweet. Yawn.
Controversy would be the term
@@blackguyofthesouth2161 True, it is a better term - and they do use it in the headline - but, in my opinion, most of these are still lame reasons to get worked up. Have a happy day!
Wow you really can't pick up on nuance or tongue in cheek usages of words. First off, an executive producer hiring himself for a job that over 10 hosts were publicly competing for definitely counts a scandal, especially in the context of a show watched by millions every single day. Ken Jennings making insensitive remarks like "Nothing is sadder than a hot person in a wheelchair" got the backlash it deserved, and for some reason you think nobody should be held accountable for obnoxious and insensitive remarks. Besides, this list is obviously using a very loose definition of the word scandal for most of the entries. it's clear they mean jeopardy news stories that got a lot of attention, not necessarily a scandal. Obviously Trebek shaving a mustache is not a real scandal. You're that guy that takes everything literally aren't you?
@@20thCenturyFav I'm that chick who writes her impressions of things she has seen or read, without expecting everyone else to interpret them the same way. I CAN pick up on nuance and tongue-in-cheek, and that's why I don't take a tossed-off, foolish comment, like the example of Jenning's that you give, as a reason to deny someone a job, or worse. Your second paragraph makes pretty much the same point I was making. Thanks for the back-up.
@@texas2step266 You actually can't pick up on nuance or loose usage of words like 'scandal' because it should have been evident to you a few minutes into this video that not every item on this was a REAL scandal. Unless you would put Alex Trebek's mustache on the same level as Watergate. The only real scandals listed in this video are what happened with Mike Richards and the Ken Jennings tweets that insulted the disabled community. The rest are just Jeopardy news items that got a lot of attention, but aren't scandals. Your takeaway from this video is that every single item on this list was a literal scandal and that people are snowflakes for getting offended at tweets mocking disabled people even if it's said in jest (as if that's a justification). The fact that Ken Jenning's tweet was tossed/off foolish comment doesn't excuse what was said or make its impact any less damaging. You could use the same logic to excuse someone using the N word. Is that a society you want to live in? Get real. This literally cost him the job of Jeopardy host, and it pissed off a ton of people, so yes it was a scandal. You can laugh off a joke that mocks the disabled community, but that says more about you than it does anything else. You're giving a pass to rude and insensitive remarks, your take on this issue is worthless since you are giving a pass for making ableist remarks and by extension, any racist/sexist remarks as well, as long as it was a 'tossed off' comment.
Who is Thomas Hurley the Third?
Well considering that both Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings will both host Jeopardy, I'm guessing they changed their thoughts??
I have no problem with it, but if the show has a problem with Ken, they really should go with LeVar Burton
How could you bring up the Wimbledon thing without bringing up the kid that misspelled emancipation proclamation and was told he was wrong cause it was misspelled?
I thought that would be #1.
Anybody who can replace bialik or richards, anyone?
1:17 Still true today.
Almost all of these are from the last three years.
No mustache. Better.
I don't think Ken Jennings' poor choices of words trump Mike Richards' screamingly obvious power grab. LeVar Burton FTW, bitches!!

what is ken Jennings?
So basically 2 insensitive tweeters, 1 offensive term and 7 crybaby complaints?? Got it.
