I love how the integra even got compared against such cars, punches well above it weight. It only lost on power/torque deficit.
this is a car guy's type of foreign tv show
I'd say this is a win for Japanese engineering over all. 6 years after the greatest car ever was released, a FF Honda is able to compete. Japan needs more progression like this
For a 197 hp FF car to be able to keep up this close to a 316 hp AWD car, especially one like the GT-R is truly impressive
32嫌いな人多くて悲しい
Keeping in mind that the R32 GTR actually has 320+ps but was written as 280 due to the gentlemens agreement in Japan at the time. So it's actually a 120ps difference.
インテめっちゃバカにしてて草ww
1800ccの無加給エンジンで2600ccの加給エンジンにあそこまで食い下がれるのは凄いことだと思う。
"Can you keep up with my R?!!"
the type r put on a good fight!
Also the r32 was designed in 1988/89, for car to perform like it did, from the 80's, is just awesome.
勝敗はどちらにせよ、この時代の車は本当に素晴らしい。
Im not sure why everyone is suprised at how well matched these cars are. Integra is newer and bred for racing just like the GTR. Power to weight is 11.6 lb per HP on 96 spec JDM Type R. R32 GTR is about 11.2 lb/hp. Tires and suspension on Honda are lightyears better than stock GTR. On top of that the GTR is used. Real difference is the Honda can only improve but so much without spending ALOT of money on engine rebuild, racing suspension and brakes, and stripping down car with lighter body panels. GTR can up the boost on stock engine, put on good coilovers, and use better brake pads and the difference is monumental for a reasonable cost. Not a knock on the Honda at all. Thats just the limitation of fwd and n/a. If anything its a wonder they can make the car that good and still be driveable on a daily basis.
The R32 is still my all-time favorite car. I feel in love with it when I first saw it on Initial D and has been my choice for cars to this day.
This was the most wholesome race I've ever seen.
Kudos to the Integra, two beautiful cars in a beautiful race!
Id be mad if i was a gtr owner and a fwd car with 80 less hp kept up so well. even when driving serious.
Other than the steep uphill section the type r matched it quite well, the lack of torque showed with the type r in that uphill section
