cuz they are gay...going against a heavy gt-r a stock silvia and impreza
all the cars were stock dumbass... all im saying is its impressive that a ff car can keep up with, and even outrun, cars that have a more performance oriented drivetrain layout. on paper the integra is at a pretty big disadvantage and STILL runs with the others. you cant deny how well engineered these cars are.
Just lighter nothing about these cars are stock engineered besides maybe the gtr and impreza

each car is impressive in their own terms, i like Honda but i just hate the fact that most Honda guys give it a bad rep etc. but its one of the type of cars that got its respect just like the others.

The DC2 Type R will forever remain my all time fav Japanese import. Outstanding car even by today/s standards!
The track is small with constant turns as well as starting first with a decent launch. The Integra on most serious road courses would have gotten blown away.

have driven one, can confirm, they're fucking amazing. I say that as a turbo SW20 owner too! the DC2 is way easier to drive hard, which counts for a lot in foggy conditions like this

When Honda still made bad ass cars! I sure kick myself when I think I passed up a new 2000 Integra type R for the Accord ex v6 coupe. I was young, and made silly mistakes!

SingleTurboSupra we don't have the Type R in America yet, that won't be out till next year. Also, for the last around 15 years, Honda has been almost devoid of all sporty cars.
+Acc0rd79 That's why it's awesome they made the new type r. Also the new NSX. Maybe they are planning to go back to making sports cars :)
SingleTurboSupra we will see, there isn't a lot of likes about the new NSX, many reviewers looked down on it saying it wasn't really up to snuff.

I don’t hate on any of these I love them all But man the MR2 held em off well!
Wow, I guess this is proof that light weight and agility matter more than outright power. That said, Integra was built for the track and probably the least comfortable to use as a daily driver, but its lightness and stiffness allowed it to open a clear lead despite having less bhp than the others.

VTEC is always for the Win, Look at the GREAT HANDLING on that ITR. Other cars were sliding around while the Integra R gripped. It goes to show, it may have less HP but it will outrun it's powerful rivals

3SGTR can make 300 hp with a tune. That's not slow for a car like that.
The stock mr2 turbo 3rd gen was faster than the r32 stock to stock in both the 1/4 mile and short circuit track.

I'm not a Honda guy, but this video is a perfect example of why I will defend a well sorted Honda to my grave. The unfortunate thing is that for every properly setup Honda there are 10 more that sadly justify the Honda hate.

Got to hand it to Type R here. Definitely the best ever engine note for a car 4 cylinder. S14 handled well, turn up the boost.
Amazing to see the N/A fwd Integra win this race with some distance. There are so many people talking bad about Honda and fwd cars, so I'm always so satisfied when my favorite brand takes the win!
mr2 looked great in the turns.

Good thing about FF is that you can floor it in a corner way more than any others (even 2wd) because oversteer is almost negligible. Light FF like Honda are spicy
They did a comparison between tires and those Neovas were on par with S tires. Still great handling and driving of the ITR

I really love how FF, if executed correctly, can attack corners exponentially harder with less chance of the unexpected
They're easier to use. You can get away with sloppiness with no fishtailing due to it straightening during exit accel

People calling FWD "Wrong wheel drive" need to see this
the integra type r handles better than nearly any other FWD car ever made. FWD is normally a lot worse handling-wise than RWD so they aren't wrong. But yeah an integra type r is better than any RWD american muscle car lol.

I think a more fair test would be all cars same weight, power and tires. Similar suspension setup too. That would be cool to see. Because if the itr was fr it would still be quicker than the s14 and such.
Yeah did you see the body roll on that WRX rofl. Yet it still managed 2nd fastest lap time lol. Integra double wishbone suspension and great power to weight ratio gave it the win. This was by no mean a drivetrain comparison race . . .

Type r is already honed from factory for track, so stock for stock it comes out on top. The other cars have far more tuning potential though.
I well built integra or Mr2 can keep up with ANYTHING on the track. You don't need $100k to have fast lap times.

These videos are good for the fan boys to see what real race engineering is all about and why teggy R was the voted best car in the world at the time. It’s not just about power numbers cause that integraR has the least HP. 😈
The Integra type R won because it has less horsepower and it is lightweight but the frwd gave it a lot of grip on the corners unlike the other cars.
it's amazing how close the performance is between these cars while having different layouts. btw gansan doesn't mess around, don't get too proud Honda fanboys... lol

Fwd are faster on cornering, but damb that mr2 did pretty well overall!
Fwd has the upper hand on a wet surface. It’s not completely wet but a bit damp.
Own 1 dc2r an buy another 2 Honda I have 3 Honda now love them .
Love the Integra, owned one for 10 years but it makes me slightly sad when i think where Honda have come in the last 21 years. Why can't they make another hatch/coop with a similar design philosophy which puts them on the map again.
GazRwood that was the hype at the time. Companies these days are too scared of the financial risks of making such cars once again due to change in trends.
I'm a FR/MR boy but FF is more stable and more easier to drive. This is an advantage on this track.

I knew the mr2 was gonna lose to the integra r cuz of weight, but I didn’t expect it to lose by this much. The integra r is truly an under appreciated car.
I daily drive a 94 mr2 gt-s. One factory component that is in fact hot garbage is the intercooler. They heatsoak very quickly and peak power drops off. I cant do any major boltons with stock smic.

The gtr just kept going wide on the corners, especially on lap 1, and some times (that were seen) was still braking until the middle of the corner, it does seems to be to high and too soft. I guess that's the peak of the 80s
“Without engine tuning, the S14 is tough to drive” Funny, I recently started a new Gran Turismo 4 career and I bought the same zenki S14 K’s and I too came to the same conclusion! The handling is amazing but for 200hp, it doesn’t feel as quick as you’d think. I think it’s due to gearing being somewhat long but its optimal once you’ve increased horsepower.

The Type Rs aren't just given more horsepower they have seriously upgraded suspensions too.
