no wonder the type r became my teenage time dream car.. i grew up watching these videos. how could i not buy one? this is the best car commercial ever for the type r.. .. and of course i bought one in 2001. and still have it.. :D thanks best motoring

As someone who has made peace with the fact that I'm probably never gonna get a GT-R or a Mk. 4 Supra. The Integra is looking like a pretty good candidate for a beginners project car. I realized I was punching way above my weight both skill-wise and financially and I also realized that fast doesn't always equal fun.
Wish i could buy one but sadly they’re shockingly expensive now

the spoon itr was GORGEOUS, the js and turbo itr were ugly as fuck though. I always appreciated how spoon just added on to the ITR's good looks with some carbon fiber and lowering, nothing much to do on that body. It already looks like a mini race car with that low front end.
I wonder what the fully tuned yellow spoon type r will do against the new FK8 type R!

Stock evo, gtr and nsx while all the integras are tuned like crazy. Just a test I guess.
Rabbon-I The Genesis The stock Evo did way better than the stock NSX, GT-R, and Type R. I was actually very impressed with how well it did. I wonder how well a modded Evo would do against the Spoon.
Rabbon-I The Genesis they were not tuned like crazy except the spoon full tuned version. The turbo one was stock motor with only 270 hp. That’s barely 70 over stock. The rest were only mild bolt ons.
@@CCGMASTER I know very well how crazy fast the Evo is (probably one of the fastest, if not the fastest car of its era), but I didn't expect it to be *that* fast. Should Best Motoring had import an FQ-300 at the time (FQ-360 would it have been filmed a couple years later), it would've beat pretty much everything else with ease.

One question is how to mod B18c to 2000cc?
There 2 are ways. One is to make the actual cylinder bigger by drilling the engine block and the second way is to make the strokes bigger with a stroking kit: the pistons can go down a little bit more than originial and as a result the displacement rises

is there anyway to find out the Spoon suspension setup and motor specs?
Spoon light tune got Spoon I/H/E, ECU, shorter gears, but not a single thing mentioned about the suspension. Spoon full tune got 2 liter stroker kit, or larger pistons and sleeves, don't know whichone is the case, than it got the usual I/H/E, ECU, no suspension upgrades mentioned as well, it's gonna be near to impossible to find out the exact tuning specs if it's not mentioned in this video.

Whats up with GTR? I guess not much more power than advertised, lot of weight and drivetrain power loss?
Tires suck compared to s and weights soo much more. If they use the same tires and keep the cars stock beyond that, gtr is quicker for sure.
GTR is a heavy car, typically they set their fastest lap in the beginning before tire fade and brake fade start getting worse.
@@XxUltimateGodzXx - GTR also had regular tires like the Inte R it was battling

Why do they keep saying s tires what are s tires how are they different from normal tires
S Tires is for sports tires or semi-slicks. Those are high performance road legal tires made for track use only, like the michelin pilot sport cup or the pirelli p zero trofeo. They are sticky on dry conditions but very slippery on wet. Normal tires are for everyday use and give you much better performance in wet conditions for safety reasons but tend to overheat on track.
I wish they could have used my Turbo B18C Civic in that race!

What's the purpose of heel toeing?
downshifting while braking. The idea is to stay as close to your power band throughout the duration of a corner so you can easily accelerate out of it. Downshift too early, you get unnecessary slow down. Wait too long to down shift and and you lose the revs you need to accelerate out quickly. Basically it's just the quickest way to enter and exit a corner. (someone probably has a more elegant explanation than me though)
skunker505 you explained it well sir! Also used for braking with the engine speed.
Also helps to balance the car, by changing gears as smoothly as possible you work to not upset the balance and achieve smooth cornering

Holy crap how did the evo keep up if it was slower on the straights but had worse tyres for the corners let alone weight etc. evo is the real winner here wow.
No Its awd. Makes a huge different. A stock Evo should be running against spoon or other racing hondas for a fair class. So no All the fwd hondas are still the true winner. You dont want to see all these honda go awd and start gapping evos on the corners.

There intake box are all stock custom ice box.
Those are way better than almost any intake in moderately modded hondas. Of course, the ecu tune is the most important of all.
ik this is old as shit but you ever notice how they always put Nakaya in an Evo? its not even fair its like his spirit animal or something hes so good in one. i think ive seen him drive a GTR once maybe, the one where Gan-san as usual is driving like a maniac and Nakaya pulls off a ridiculous save after going off track.
The one where it went off-road near the stands and nearly collided?
Nakaya used to be a factory driver for Mitsubishi for a while. That is probably why.
