Hello thanks for the review! Frankly speaking, I like the adjustable wheel resistance option of my version 2. No reason to move to V3 (oh yes, just the RGB is cool and useful for checking which profile I'm using) since I can't adjust it anymore, unless I can set it to a specific resistance via software instead of the dedicated wheel, do you know if this is possible on V3?
The V2 mouse sensitivity dial was such a unique feature, I use that as my everyday mouse, I tried the G604 which is almost the same mouse, but it has the clutched scroll wheel but the tactile click method was too firm for daily use as it was clearly designed for changing weapons. I'm not sure on the firmness of the V3 clicky mode vs the G604 but I'll miss the super custom scrollwheel feel of the V2

Hi there, thanks for your review :) Does the lack of a foot on the right side of the mouse impact how the mouse moves while in use? Have seen other reviewers mention it, but just picked up my original Basilisk and realised it also doesn’t have a foot on the right side, and have never noticed any drag because of it, so am wondering whether it’s something that is a very individual experience. Thanks!

I was under the impression that Logitech had a patent on that type scroll wheel. Regardless of what's up with that it's nice to see some variety.
Honestly, not sure if its worth upgrading from the v2 for the feature. I would want it for the default stages having 400 instead of 800. I am assuming it wants a different stage algorithm because theres 6000 more dpi to stage from.
do you know if the scroll wheel encoder is optical? i can't seem to find any info on it and i'm starting to get frustrated.
Great review! I have been seriously considering this mouse, but I really want a wireless one. If they would upgrade the wireless Basilisk to this generation I would jump on that in a heartbeat.
There is a basilisk ultimate, which is pretty expensive, and doesn't have the adaptive scroll sadly

I got the wireless version for the office spreadsheeting shenanigans 😂. But I wish the left and right scroll macro binds worked better.
i went back to the v2. i upgraded just to do it but i wasnt used to the sensitivity clutch being there, the v2 let you remove it and put a plug right there and after upgrading i kept hitting it by accident

The one thing I had to get used to is the downward slant at the front making the right button lower than the left, just feels odd. Other than that, great mouse.

Great review Andy 🥰👋 I personally love the “sniper button” function and had it on a few different mice over the years starting with R.A.T. Gaming in the mid-2000’s to even today. For FPS gaming it’s an essential function to own! Imo 🥳👍. Loving the revision made by Razer to their new lineups 👍💥. I personally scored myself a 2nd Orochi V2 White here in Australia 🇦🇺 on a Black Friday sale for $38USD 🥳🤫🤩 which is awesome and one the best mice I’ve ever owned!

Razer Basilisk line has QC issues. My V1 had overheating issues. My V2's scroll wheel started bugging after a year.
It's their whole mouse lineup that have QC issues... Seriously i bought a lot of their mice and let me tell you what i've encountered on these (BRAND NEW) : - Razer Mamba Elite --> Scroll wheel problem (big rattle and the wheel seemed to "jump") - Razer Viper Ultimate --> The mouse's sensor was making a buzzing noise (wtf ?) - Razer DeathAdder V2 --> The right side was creaking heavily (even with little pressure) - Razer DeathAdder V2 Pro --> M1 and M2 feels super-mushy and non-consistent Depsite the fact that i am (or i was ?) a Razer fan, i gave up. Few days ago i bought the Logitech G502X and you know what ? 0 issues. Lol

I watched this review and decided to get the V3 and it was terrible. my thoughts: I play FPS games and its this mouse is a nightmare, just got it, the middle button function in the mid of the mouse bottom part where you change dpi, you only get the 1 so rather than being able to click quicker selecting speed, i am reduced to counting how many times i press it as it has to circle around. The left thumb button towards the front of the mouse you have to click it in the center or further up if you hit it in the middle it doesnt register sometimes causing me to die. The spin wheel feature is crap again middle mouse button this time top and when changing DPI i may acidently hit it and it unlocks the wheel causing it to spin like crazy. so in a game where i have to switch weapons all the time, it really messes me up and causes me to die once more. The right mouse during FPS like overwatch sticks for some reason, so Doomfist keeps holding his power button and it I need to release it wont do it, makes the full charge so once again dead. Take off the spinning wheel, this is a feature for ppl working on the computer and give us back the two dpi buttons for quick easy access for switching. Fix the thumb buttons moving them back towards the palm a bit they are too far forward. No idea why it is sticking with the right mouse, i tried with multiple v3's and the same happened, this didnt occur on the Logitech G502 The V2 was much better with all of this, honestly there was no reason to switch it up. made my gaming a lot more difficult.

Experienced a serious issue with 2 different samples of this mouse. When lifting the mouse off the mat to reposition it, the slight force of putting it back down causes accidental clicks of several functions. The primary one being accident scroll wheel clicks, but even the left and right click can be activated as well. And this isn't a matter of being too forceful, because when actively testing this issue, simply picking the mouse a few millimeters off the mat and dropping it will cause this to happen. This has been a pretty severe issue for me in gaming, especially in high intensity games with rapid movements, because these different functions are being executed randomly. Curious if anyone has experienced this or can test this with their Basilisk V3.

I'm on a dilemma. I have Basilisk V2, but need a new one for my Laptop, on which i play Kovaaks(Aim Trainer). I have hard time choosing between this one and DeathAdder V2 PRO.Razer said this is a new sensor. Obviously it has 6k more DPI, but no one cares about this one. Is the sensor improved, in terms of preciouses, tracking, smoothness and so on, or is the same sensor as DeathAdder and Basilisk V2, with just added a bit more DPI ???
No, its improved. Better tracking system, almost perfect accuracy (i dont think what human can feel it), better motioni sync and IPS (inches per sec)
@@horizonracoon Basilisk have the same sensor with 650, and 50 acceleration. In this one they are identical. It's so bad they do not write the sensor specific version. I still can't decide.

its better. g502 has terrible build quality. logitech really has gone downhill over the years.
@@teemuvesala9575 used my g502 hero for more than 4 years non stop with zero issues. I have g pro now because of wireless and its lighter, but in every other sense never had an issues.
@@joshifukyeah Nah the scroll wheel wobbles like crazy, its feels very cheaply built. If I compare to my 10+ year old G500 its shockingly bad build on G502. Basilisk V3 is simply better mouse. Miss the feel of the metal scroll wheel, but other than that everything on Razer feels like its better built. Despite Basilisk V3 scroll wheel is plastic, it doesn't wobble like on G502.

Razer probably lowered launch price cause they know ppl is going to buy the discounted v2 while they can, i got the v1 for 30€ when the v2 was out, although the v2 seems a bigger improvement over the v1, this v3 doesn't seem too interesting over the v2 imo.

warning I own this mouse and in fps scrolling weapons will often bring up the same weapon I'm trying to scroll off of. Because that weapon is empty it often results in my death. Googling this has found many others with similar issues. This is a deal killer for me for someone that primarily plays fps. Other than that it works great.

I was wondering this too. Reviews are all positive but I've heard a lot of reports of modern mice developing issues down the line (especially Razer and Logitech).
@@CdrRogue i buy them at best buy and just pay for the 2year protection then at 1 1/2 years when they start to go bad I just take them back, pay another $20 for the next year or so...modern mice suck! They make them.cheap and upcharge you a ridiculous amount just to have them fail WAY to soon...

long story short. The v3 is bigger, claw gri is just pain in the as. takes a minute the hand to paralize. The v1 got broken and thought i get the same perfect grip..v1 is a different mouse when it comes to the shape. v3 really really bad for claw. disgusting change, why?
It's not because if you lift it up and set it back down it'll activate the scroll wheel. So when you're in the middle of a game you throw a grenade or activate an ability. I have to debind the damn thing. So annoying. Pay 80$ for a bs issue.
i just moved away from razer because they dont remember profiles offline. only things on my desk left that dont match my colour setup is the razer mouse and dock. greta mouse like thwe chroma and blackwidow keyboards which too are good but offline mode gone in their software since synapse 2 and that was 3 years ago and no hardware memory prife setting. loving my scope as it doesnt change silly colours when im in sleep mode for power prservation. RAZER YOU LOST ME BY NOT HAVEING A HARDWARE PRIFILE SAVE MODE AND I CERTAINLY DONT TRUST YOU TO PROF=VIC=DE IT THROUGH SOFTWARE AT ANY RELIABLE LEVEL, AFTER ALL ITS 3 YEARS AND STILL NO OFFLINE MODE IN SOFTWARE. WOW JUST WOW AND HOW STUPID. Copying this to many chanels becaus epeople need to know tgheir settings for led colour are not kept on their devices at any reliably state. Im guessing all led products including their laptops dont have offline mode either lol. fgood luck with that.
Doesnt matter how good a scroll wheel is, if it starts glitching out from dust after 3 months, aka every Razer mouse. Meanwhile my cheap 5 year old chinesium gaming mouse is still working perfect, as has every non-razer mouse i've ever owned.

I have the g502 lightspeed and the Basilisk ultimate, both are very good mice but I prefer the basilisk, all mice are copies of others, but the more variety and competición the better for us consumers.
Don't bother with this mouse....It's defected and it needs a firmware in order to get fixed but razer haven't released anything yet
