The 7-0, #3 Ohio State Buckeyes faced the 12-0, #1 Alabama Crimson Tide in the 2021 College Football Playoff National Championship Game at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. With this victory, Alabama claimed its 18th national championship.

Yep, until Nick Saban leaves or retires from coaching. Then good luck after that. Urban Meyer left Ohio St, turned the program over to Ryan Day, and we still kept winning. Before Urban we won consistently with Jim Tressel as the head coach.

As a UGA fan it was great to see all the teams make this season memorable with all the Covid madness the SEC and ACC took the leadership role needed.
This might sound weird, but I’m an Alabama fan from Idaho. When I was a freshman in high school I came across the music city bowl that Bama was playing in against Minnesota, Alabama lost that day but for some reason I was hooked, 16 years later I cant believe the awesome ride this team has taken so many fans on! And the best thing is...”we ain’t done yet...” ROLLLLLLL TIDE!!!!!
Minnesota had a great rb tandem in 2004.

Frankly, this was much more of a beatdown than indicated by the score.
They won by 28 lol. That's 4 TDs it was a complete beatdown.
The greatest team ever. Why? Because they had a veteran quarterback who has been in 3 championship games from the sidelines and has seen the success and is the mastermind of patience and observation. He has waited his turn, and unbelievably was a first year starter and was a main piece of the greatest team to ever play national football.
Field was too much of a Prima Dona to ever do that. He also gets hurt in every tough game and will be another Robert Griffin because he struggles with coverages and his third receiver doesn't get a glance. Last year against Clemson and this game against Bama he rushes his throws when pocket breaks down and overthrows like he did twice into the end zone on two different processions.

Everyone on 'Bama gave it their all, and played awesome. The deal breaker, in my opinion, was Najee Harris. He was the strongest link in this game, and took Ohio State behind the woodshed. After Smith was taken out, Harris was one of several players who really stepped up. Sorry, I meant "THE Ohio State" for those of you who wear your stupidity on your sleeves.

Tons of credit to DeVonta Smith and Najee Harris. Obviously just incredible players making play after play. But the offensive brilliance of Steve Sarkisian was really on display that night. Just coached circles around the Ohio State defense.
The amount of NFL names in this game is absolutely insane. Fields, Smith, Waddle, Harris, Jones, Surtain, Olave, Wilson, J Williams, and I’m sure a couple offensive and defensive linemen from both sides. Amazing football

Watching this tape for the second time, Ohio State really tried to get physical with Alabama. As we can see, it did not work. I am impressed with how the Alabama players' maintained their discipline on some very suspect plays and calls. Perhaps a little east coast bias here? I live on the west coast and find SEC foot is at another level. On another note, the team that got the short end of the stick was Texas A&M. Should have replaced Notre Dame or Ohio State.
Texas A&M already played Bama this year and got whooped like OSU. Maybe replace ND but TAMU barely beat Vandy, Florida, and some other not so good team

I agree that the committee makes their decisions based entirely on revenue and ratings (although both have actually gone down in the playoff era). But Texas A&M didn't get left out for that reason - they're one of the wealthiest programs in the country and they have a massive fanbase. It's the Group of Five teams that have literally no shot. Some G5 teams can go undefeated and not even crack the committee's Top 10. Coastal Carolina finished 11-0 with more ranked victories than TAMU and wound up in the Cure Bowl at #12.
@@BamaRewind I understand what you're saying and I'm all for an expanded playoff field. My issue is with the parity of college football. It is just not there like it is in college basketball. Coastal Carolina having a great season is awesome but they would get crushed first round, my opinion. However, they deserve an opportunity to prove internet jerks like me wrong and bring in revenue for their conference.

Matt Ryan put up MVP numbers in 2018 with Sark as the OC. I'm looking at Alabama's play calling in this game and trying to figure out why Atlanta didn't retain him.
This may have been the best offense I’ve ever seen at Alabama. They could beat you in so many different ways. Nobody was touching this team this year. They were just too lethal on the offensive side.
I miss when we had a great play caller on offense. I also miss those amazing players. They were all A1. And in comparison to what happened this year, that Wide Receiving group was out of this world. The defense was beast, the running game (running back and line) was top shelf, the QB was unreal, but those wide receivers. wowee.
As a Bama fan I firmly believe this is the best team we’ve ever had!
