In this one I wrap up my time in the Pacific Northwest with some sand dunes in Florence Oregon, some paintless dent removal in Bend Oregon, and then I go and explore the wreckage of a crashed A6 jet in the Christmas Valley area of Oregon! It was awesome to meet great people and wheel my solid axle swapped FJ Cruiser in so many of the Pacific Northwest's greatest off road destinations!
Was great meeting you and hope to meet up again, but on the trails next time. Much appreciate the support!
You are awesome Eric! Thank you!
Very cool, Ken! A nice exporation and history edition that didn't EAT your rig, especially after having those dents ironed out! FJ looks amazing!
No body damage on this one! Thanks for watching!
I was at the Oregon dunes and Florence about 28 years ago!! Went there with my uncle and his sand rail pretty fun! Hope to be back sooner than later with a 2002 Sequoia I got!
My sequoia did just awesome at the dunes!
This is really interesting. I am a private pilot based in Phoenix Arizona. It really makes it real when you see that cockpit.
I like how you’re trying to keep the FJ presentable as opposed to just letting get beat to hell. It’s a sweet rig and you’ve put some good money into it!
Indeed! I don't want it to become unrecognizable... 😄
Really interested area... a different kind of trail. Thanks for sharing!
Lots of open space!! Nobody for many miles!
@@offroadhub.official Yes is something really difficult to get here in Italy... Sometimes we can get it in mountains, but with the risk of not having telephone coverage... and if you get in problems... is something to take in count!
Interesting Ken, thanks for sharing. Doesn’t always need to be about 4pm to enjoy your rig. Happy trails.
Thanks Dan!
It should have said 4-lo damn autocorrect.
The crash site was pretty neat, I still need to go check out the T33 crash site here in CO, but I'm more interested in that P38 crash site! The Lockheed Lightning is one of the coolest planes of WW2. It would be interesting to compare the technology of the debris with the newer sites.
It would have been very interesting. The p38 crash is much older.
It's nice to have a destination. Someplace to sit and ponder, or something to see. I enjoy researching different places to go see and explore along the 4x4 route. Being a pilot it brings chills seeing aircraft ripped up. Even more so when there's fatalities involved. Travel safe and thank you for sharing your adventures!
The tragedy here we incredible for sure! I was amazed how much it looked like a recent crash, not from 50 years ago!
Great share Ken, thanks ! Beautiful area that desert, and yes those doors look great, ready for the next challenge. Enjoy your journey!
Thanks Jey! It's beautiful, and really really empty! 😄
@@offroadhub.official empty can be a real plus. That is one adventure that isn’t as much risk to go alone and good for the mind and soul.
@@jeytex3161 very true. Although I was afraid I was going to run out of gas on the way back... 😆 Don't tell anyone.
@@offroadhub.official oh now some people have “cans” mounted for reasons like that. I think you like a bit of the edge, such a risk taker!
Cool side trip.
Definitely worth checking out!
Ken has some overlander in him, thanks.Jason from primal outdoors visited this spot in one of his videos I believe
I got into off roading just wondering where roads lead to! So yes, I'm an explorer at heart. 👍
Interesting Crash site. I was an A-6 Avionics Tech in the early 80s. Kind of difficult to see an Aircraft ripped to shreds. I can Identify most of the parts.
Wow. It was quite an experience to see, realizing the tragedy associated with it as well.
Man I wish I had known you were coming to Christmas Valley I live there and I'm always looking to show other 4 wheelers our area. And on a side note the A6 is what I worked on when I was in the Navy.
Oh wow, I never imagined anyone would be around that area to meet up with, and it was kind of a last minute idea to actually go see it. The crash site is really something to see. Maybe we can do something next time I'm rolling through!
@@offroadhub.official I would like that for sure.
Well it no longer sounds like a lawn mower.
Or a sewing machine! 😜
Lets hope you never crash bad enough to send debri that far and wide.
No.... 😄
Oh I definitely need some PDR, but that's some serious money!
Yeah the hours really add up!
Out here in Colorado we have a pretty rad plane crash site. It’s in Boulder Colorado, with a mild trail to get there. Any plans for a Colorado expedition? The battle scars add character to the FJ!
I'll make it to Colorado some time this summer!
That A6 took it hard in the desert, hope the pilot got to eject.
Both of the men died. I guess they tried to eject but didn't make it.
I'm surprised that all thoes pieces are still there.
It's extremely remote! I don't think it sees a lot of traffic.
@@offroadhub.official that's good so many people now days have sticky fingers.
It looks like someone covered up the “No motorized vehicles past here “sign with an A6 sticker. Been there many times. Where you went up the steep hill and stopped is where you are supposed to stop. People covering signs like this will get this shut down. I know you didn’t do it just want people to be aware you’re not supposed to drive back there.
The road is pretty well traveled. And the crash site is pretty far from the steep hill. That's really surprising.
A little worse than an FJ tail light?
