In this one I'm at Trail Hero in Sand Hollow Utah! I cover several trails in this video, cruise the trails with lots of awesome folks and just have a great time in general. Lots of solid axle Toyotas!

  • Silly question maybe: that guy at 03:00 in, descending, was he not in low range? I see so many people in vids (not you) relying so much on the brakes. That other guy at 4:30, pretty exciting! That was close. 😅

    @SDwriter.and.surfer@SDwriter.and.surfer Жыл бұрын
    • I'm sure he was in low, but even the lowest gearing with factory axles and tcase isn't super low, so brakes are necessary.

      @offroadhub.official@offroadhub.official Жыл бұрын
    • @@offroadhub.official Thanks. Yeah, hard to say what I'd do. I don't know how these newer "smart" 4-bys handle in situations like this. Don't they have a Crawl Mode or something like that?? I guess that's probably intended for help beginners. Me, I'd just have to head down in 4-low (2.62:1) and in granny 1st (6.3:1) on my puny 32" tires, rolling under engine compression, and hope for the best. LOL But I'm sure I would be on the brakes too a little.... if I'd be even brave enough to try those hills. Might violate my rule about always coming home and with an undamaged truck.

      @SDwriter.and.surfer@SDwriter.and.surfer Жыл бұрын
    • @@SDwriter.and.surfer yes, Justons FJ does have Crawl Control, which is just an automatic manipulation of the brakes using the ABS system and wheel speed sensors. But as the 4runner demonstrated, being able to quickly roll out can be very useful. 😬
