m4 and m42 which one is better
No holes, less weight & maybe an adjustable mouse sensor would be a nice next step for this mouse. I pure fingertip so being able to move the mouse sensor forward like on Pwnage mice would be absolute endgame for me, plus its good marketing. The SHAPE is perfect but xtrfy needs to push more and do something better with it.
you can take off the back if you fingertip for a bit less weight and add side grips maybe for holes
Imo holes is good for grip and doesn't feel icky or disgusting like grip tape, you can dig in for better grip.

We have the exact same opinions about this mouse and specially the shape comparison, it's the mouse that gets the closest to the UL2/SL12S in terms of grip and the shape doesn't even look that similar. Guess I will give it a good try after your blessing. Great work as always. You are a reference.
coming from the mz1 do you think this mouse is good to use for somebody wanting something similar to the mz1 but bigger?
would you recommend this over the o minus and the symm 2? I'm planning to buy one in the near future for laptop gaming since I'll be at university most of the time. Do you think these are a good wireless portable mouse for me? I play valorant casually and a little bit of aimlabs from time to time just so my aim wont be dull. Yo dropping in to say hello Haus, good review man. Yea they need to get ride of the holes on the side and there should never be holes on mouse 1 and 2 in my opinion. And the weight slider, we could have done without that. But I'm looking forward to the MZ1 wireless myself. They better leave those holes away from finger positions. I feel like they left those holes as a gimmick to sell the grips. Just my opinion. Cheers. Like and full view brother.
Great video Haus! Can't wait for mine to come! Shape is king and the shape with the large hump is fantastic with this mouse. I always found the m42 kinda feels like np-01s with the higher hump and that's easily one of my favorite shapes as well.

I can't agree with your skepticism about the weight balancing system. I use my m4 with an "alternate" top shell and moved the battery back a bit. For my claw, this combination liked the most. The mouse has become more manageable. But I agree that removing the lightning would be the right decision And thanks for the review) I'm waiting for the wireless mz1

I love the m42 but Xtrfy should reconsider putting RGB on their mice, especially if they are thinking in wireless mouse, competitive gaming and reducing weight, it's a bit silly, xtrfy should watch the tier 1 competition(sorry for my bad english)

I thought if they ever released this mouse wireless I would just main it but 69g with holes everywhere and rgb is kind of a turn off. I get that some people really like rgb but at this point I feel like most people wanting a wireless high performing gaming mouse isn't in it for the rgb. Maybe that's just me.
Wireless + RGB is really a bit weird. Even if I really enjoyed RGB, I'd switch it off on wireless mice, because I want to think about charging as little as possible.

and yet we have other channels shitting on mice for recent wireless releases (cough v2 pro cough) for not having rgb...It's so weird. These lightweight wireless mice are clearly competitive options but a lot of reviewers just don't look at them that way
I think it's a scandinavian and german thing. SteelSeries (Danish), Xtrify (Swedish) and Roccat (North German, Hamburg, 80g burst pro air LFMAO) value RGB over shedding weight. Is it because they have a thing for Northern Lights or do they need RGB to cheer em up and get through those horrible winters with just a scant few hours of sunlight?
Does anybody know how to customize the RGB lights in more depth? I have the solid light option on but the color choices are have are only white,red,green,blue and yellow. I know it's capable of having more when its on rainbow mode (orange,pink, etc) , is it possible to have it on the solid mode?
This is gonna be my new main too. Actually, I experience the same right click issue on my MZ1. When I'm scoping or holding right click sometimes it unscopes multiple times.
That sounds like a faulty switch, you should RMA. The issue I have is more so just because there can be variance in terms of how switches feel, and mine feels pretty bad!
i had inconsistent click quality on my early copy of the wired mz1 as well. the right click felt much worse than the left click
My MZ1 which I bought in January has crispier right clicks and a load of pre-travel on the left. Hearing Haus say the same thing is not good tbh as it's a tell that they haven't ironed out all the minor QC issues with their wired products.

if u like the g502 and Looking for a lighter mouse with 2.4 ghz u will enjoy it it takes some days for the new felling i recomend to use 800 dpi for this mouse
M42 Wireless vs Starlight 12 Medium? Trying to decide if I should order the M42W since the front looks more comfy for my pinky and the extra back hump may be what I’m looking for more comfort from my starlight. Can’t find an infinity hump ;-;
M42 beats SL12 Medium with ease imo. Far better shape!
Debating on this one or waiting for the wireless MZ1. I have found I like the more rearward hump styles like the zowie za13, mm710, and so on. I tend to prefer having my fingers more flat, but still have slight palm contact, so I think the MZ1 shape wise would fit me perfectly. If not, I'll probably return it and pick up the M42
Mz1 is a unique thing, it has the back hump for claw, with partial dexterity of fingertip. My hand size is 17x9, the shape is my goat. It is designed for optimal grip which is a claw fingertip hybrid.

@@RitzyBusiness I wish I could find that grip, so far my aim has just been worse flicking is alright comparable to before but my tracking took a huge hit for some reason. Going to try after market skates and other then that if I’m still bad then it just has to be the shape. Trying new backhump rn and we will see. The best grip I’ve come up with rn is having the entire back of my palm off of the mouse, some form of finger tip I guess?

I think it's a blessing in disguise that it's unnecessarily heavy: you have the opportunity to stream rgb removal and small battery swap, and we get more of that sweet, juicy content 😉

The scroll wheel on my wired M42 started squeaking which is a bit annoying. Still a great mouse regardless.
Had the same problem, but after a time i modded the cable and used the moment to clear the mouswheel and stoped the squaking with that. 100% worth it because with an upgraded mouse cable it feels like a wireless
Was considering m42 or mz1 wireless before realizing the V2 pro came out and naturally I bought into the hype of the v2. Don't regret it though, the hype for the v2 pro is real, won't have to buy another mouse for a long time.

@@marinebymistake only issue I've had is occasionally with the scroll button. Use it for lethals and if you don't press hard enough itll double clutch your lethal for lake of a better phrase. Outside of that it's been great especially paired with the 4k hyperpolling dongle.

@@marinebymistake depends a lot on your set up and how competitive you are. Is it needed, no. If you're sweaty and have a set up with a 240hz monitor or more and a PC that can pump out those kind of frame rates, then I'd say it's worth it.

There is no general answer, for me it is better for relaxed claw, but if you have larger hands than I do, you might enjoy the ZA13 more!
M42 is a my fav shape too. But it has some issues. side holes, lil bit creek, pre travels n RGB. Now M42 wireless. it has same issues n much more heavier than wired. Why Xtrfy. Why. Always good job hausgaming! Thanks.

Thanks bro! The creaking is a non-issue as it only happens when I REALLY squeeze the mouse, the pre-travel on M2 is bad if you use RMB in games where you need to spam it!
MZ1 Coating is really good though, they should use that for the M42 as well.
Not as good as some other options, but yes it definitely was quite good. I had already forgotten it!
Is it just me or do the clicks for one taps on the wired m42 feel very inconsistent. My aim is very good and love the shape but these are some of the worse clicks I ever tried. Do the clicks feel better on the wireless?
The clicks on the M42 wired & wireless felt both very good for me, especially in-game. You might've gotten a bad unit or something? What's the issue?
@@hausgaming clicks just feel like it's higher denounce then 4ms. Is there a way to change it. I just can't go back to any other mouse though the shape is to good for micro precision and allows me to do things that I can't do on any other mice.

Really like this mouse, but never been able to grip it comfortably for prolonged use because of the coating.
Coating or holes? The coating shouldn't make much difference because there are so many holes!
@@hausgaming It's the coating for me, idk maybe my fingers are too fat lol. The mm711 the holes were larger so I could use them for grip. Can't seem to do the same here. The mz1 however doesn't have the same issue for me at least.

Yes! Forgot to mention that in the video, the sensor position is more forward now, similar to GPX!
@@hausgaming Thanks for the confirmation, no one wanted to answer this lol. One thing i didn't like with the M42 was the slightly low sensor position, nice that they moved it up. If only they also removed the holes it would be a top contender imo.

For M42 Wireless or XM2w? No clue. The M42 and XM2w are very different, M42 is prolly something more similar to the XM1 Mini!
I pre ordered it and it was supposed to ship late may and now it changed to sometime in june. I just want this damn mouse already! By the way if you don’t like the holes xtrfy has collab’d with lizard skins to provide really good precut grip tape that fills the side holes completely. Do you use the lower or higher hump for this mouse?
With wired M42 I used the lower exclusively, but with this one I've been experimenting with both!

Xtrfy knows what they're doing when it comes to shapes but they didn't really put any effort into their wireless releases, they just cut the cord, slapped on popular mouse switches (without testing them it seems),they kept the holes and even the RGB for some extra useless weight.
Can't really test every unit for switch failures! I don't really mind the RMB as I don't use it as much!
@@hausgaming My M4 Wireless also had bad clicks before I replaced them, both buttons were hard to spam click and just felt bad to use, I think they should've picked another switch or implemented it better somehow bec even the omrons on the M42 and M4 wired felt better to me.

The gpx superlight does not have a good coating... slippy and getting shiny very fast
It depends on your skin type, for me it's very good. Sadly there is no solution that works perfectly for everyone.
@@hausgaming true, I tried so many! Usually the rougher coatings work better for me, but haven't found a 100% good one yet. The Xenics mice worked pretty well, also the steelseries prime's, but razer and logitechs feel super sweaty and cheap in my hands 😟

size and shape is good, but quality of xtrfy mice is pretty bad. own m4, m42 and owned zy’s rail. all have creaking and wobble
Then again I've had three M4's, one M42 and two MZ1s, and I've never had any real issues apart from the M2 on this M42. I don't consider creaking a real issue unless it happens in real use!

XTRFY mouses will not last more than one year, they will have pretravel and posttravel with a lot of wobbling on the wheel.
