Enjoy this gut friendly bread recipe:
2.5 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon unrefined salt
1/3 teaspoon baking soda
1 3/4 cups kefir
Preheat oven to 400F.
To a large bowl, add the flour, baking powder and soda, salt, and mix well. Add half of the kefir and mix well, and the other half and mix until well incorporated, without over-mixing. Let the dough rest at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Line a loaf tin with parchment paper, carefully pour in the dough, top with a pinch more salt, and bake in the oven for 30 minutes, or until the internal temperature is 198F.
Allow bread to rest 5 minutes, then remove from pan and let rest another 20 minutes on a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!
Gut friendly is misunderstood here. Kefir is gut friendly in the bottle, not when it is subject to high heat in the oven or top of stove. Heat kills the bacteria.
Perfect recipe, made my first batch of bread and I love it, this is my go-to!
Won’t all the good bacteria die once you cook it!
Can someone answer this correctly? Please?
It absolutely dies when you cook it, I don’t see the point unless he’s doing it solely for taste…
Yes- most of the probiotics will die during baking. it works like buttermilk when baking- fluffy pastry
Drink some kefir while baking with it😘
It will die but not before helping to breakdown the nutrients in the flour and helping to better digest and make the nutrients more accessible to your micro biome. Think in terms of true sourdough without the work of sourdough.
Currently attempting this with organic sprouted wheat flour and buttermilk instead of kefir. In the oven now. Fingers crossed! 🍞🤞
I just so happened to have a bottle of kefir in the fridge so I decided to make this. Soooooooo easy, and so amazingly delicious. I loved the smell in the house as it was baking, and the flavor was yummy. I will be making this again and again. Thank you for sharing this with us.
That looks fabulous!! I will be making it soon,God willing! ❤ Thank you for sharing 🤗

Oooh, that looks delish ! And I’ve never heard of pesto butter!! I’ll have to give it a try 🥂
Love this idea. A must try. Thanks for sharing.
Omg, had no idea kefir bread was a thing, how cool! Thanks for the recipe!
Totally can't wait to make this
❤️❤️👍👍👍Thank you so much For The Healthy Receipe 👍👍👍
I made it but I let it fermented for 4hr and I flip it over every 30min let me tell you big difference it has the texture of a good sourdough bread sooo good I tag you on IG with my recipe ... thank you
Doesn't the heat from baking kill the beneficial, live active cultures in the kefir?
Absolutely
Totally.
Looks delicious
This is the Google Gemini AI answered on your question guys : You're right, most of the probiotics and bacteria from kefir likely won't survive the baking process of your kefir bread. Here's why: Heat Sensitivity: Probiotics are live bacteria and many strains are sensitive to high temperatures. Baking bread typically involves temperatures around 400°F (200°C), which is hot enough to kill most bacteria. However, there are a couple of things to consider: Potential Benefits of Dead Probiotics: Some research suggests that even heat-inactivated probiotics might offer certain health benefits, though more studies are needed [1]. Kefir's Diverse Microbes: Kefir contains a complex mix of bacteria and yeasts. Some hardier strains might survive to a limited extent, although likely not in large enough quantities to be considered truly probiotic. Overall, while the live probiotic benefits might be reduced, kefir bread can still be a nutritious and flavorful option. The fermentation process with kefir can contribute to other positive aspects of the bread, such as: Flavor Development: Kefir can add a tangy and slightly yeasty flavor to your bread. Nutrient Enhancement: Fermentation may increase the bioavailability of certain nutrients in the flour.
Little Bobby Dips-- showing he’s uneducated in the kitchen once again
Wow! Thanks for this detailed explanation.
Yummy. Thank you for sharing it.
Came across your gut friendly bread. It looks delicious. I was curious to know if the baking process would kill some of the good bacteria found in the Kefir?
This bread is scrumptious
Thank you so much for this great recipe! Have you tried Eikhorn flour? That is an ancient grain too!
Bobby showing off the many skills he possess! Baking, flirting game, and motivation at the end! That’s called killin life! Beast mode Bobby! 💪👍
What video were you watching? He killed the bacteria in the bread, condescended and attempted to humiliate his wife. He’s also 30 lbs overweight and has no idea how to eat healthy and is uneducated in nutrition. Try again.
Saving! 🤤🤤🤤
Bobby if I not mistaken King Arthur now has ancient grain flour
All the bacteria is killed during baking. Just like with sauerkraut. The best flour you can get your hands on is Einkorn
I see you Bobby scoring brownie points with the wifey 😂
How come you guys didn’t feed it to each other it would have made me feel like everything really is perfect
You maked a perfect door stop. 😅😅😅
Can you use whole wheat flour and if so, how much?
Finally the Americans discovered the “kefir”, the superfood that people in Eastern Europe have been drinking for ages! 😊
Hi Bobby. Hello from Montreal. Can you tell us what effect that bread will have in our guts? Thanks.
What about Bob's Red Mill flour? I like his company as much as the products. Used to see him in the farm store.
Is coconut palm sugar gut-friendly?
❤❤❤
The proof time was insufficient, not allowing it to ferment. On top of that, the high baking temp pasteurized the probiotics.
Agree..the probiotics bacteria will die . Nothing gut friendly about it.
Dips-- Bobby strikes again
Can you let the dough rise in the bread pan instead?
👏🏼👍🏼😊
Is the Kefir is beneficiary after been heated ❓
Is it low in lactose
What the point of adding kefir ?? Wouldn't the heat from the cooking process just kill the bacteria in the kefir ?
It's done so he can promote the product he's paid to promote.

Will the properties o the kefir die once baked? I bought the Zero bread a couple weeks ago you had in your vid at Walmart.✌🏼❤️
My question too. I think all of the benefits of the probiotic will be killed in the baking/heat process
I had the same question, aren’t probiotics compromised after about 150F?
This is what I came to ask.
@bobby my question as well...about baking heat killing off probiotic qualities of kefir ???? I absolutely love this brand of kefir !!! And at close to $10per bottle why destroy its nutritional values?
Not all. The kefir will help break down the flour making the nutrients in the flour easier to digest and better for your micro biome, much like when making sourdough but without the sourdough work.
Bobby, are you up for the challenge. Find someone to test the bread after baking to identify biotic levels.
Of course he’s not. The dips-- has no clue what he’s doing
Do you have any suggestions on water filters. Either under the sink or free standing?
Key issue IMO is the flour!! Sure, it’s a complex form of carb but is still carb. I would even replace this carb with gluten free organic Sorgum/Millet flour which is also complex carb and arguably more gut-friendly. At the end of the day, carb is carb so watch how many slices you eat. Bobby should have mentioned how many grams of carb is in that slice. Also, the kefir as an ingredient is a total farce. You are better off drinking it by itself without exposing it to heat. Bottom line is just avoid the carb, or if you must eat bread, don’t make a habit out of it and even then don’t exceed 8-10 grams of carb which likely amounts to half a slice
Going to try this in the coming week. I'm sure it would be good for someone with type 2 diabetes.
What a waste of expensive kefir! Of course all the prebiotics are killed in the baking. Much better off to just put it on top of your bread!
I drink, bake and cook with my kefir almost daily, as I use it in place of milk. It is only expensive if you buy it the store. Since I make mine, I have an over abundance. And the probiotics are killed by cooking , but it still has many more benefits than eating homemade white bread. Kefir is a ferment that will help ferment the flour, not as well as a straight sourdough ferment, but it works the same just to a lesser degree. Research what fermenting flour does for digestibility of flour and then maybe you will not be so harsh in your response.
He’s a dips-- with no clue
Prebiotic is just fiber lol. You can't kill prebiotics.
is xylo sweeter bobby approved?
All Bobby approved means is, Bobby gets paid to promote.
WAWA video plz😊especially with keto drinks latte etc.. Thx..
I am going to try it with the Einkorn flour. See what happens. I just made a banana and blueberry bread with it. Yummy 😋
What is Einkorn flour?
You’ll (probably) need to adjust your liquid,Einkorn absorbs moisture more readily than some other ancient grain flours
been making kefir at home lately. its so easy
Wouldn't the heat kill the probiotics?
The look and smile she gives bobby after she realizes he said she’s sweet already …….rose is going to have a brother or sister in 9 mths 😮
😂😅 Highly doubt it!
Rose is not even their kid, first of all. Second, she suffers chronic fatigue because of his passive aggressiveness and controlling tactics. He condescends her throughout the entire video and attempts to humiliate her on camera. What video were you watching??

Low carb? Looking for Leto friendly bu
Not low carb, but way better carb wise than traditional bread. Even with fermenting it is still over 50 carbs per slice, but if you are not eating it daily it is still way better for you then regular junk sold in stores.
Thanks for sharing 😜😇
Doesn’t all purpose flour spike your insulin just like how he is always tell viewers to avoid most of the sugar? I see no point to use such an expensive good quality kefir in baking. Kefir or yogurt just helps to soften the texture and keep baked goods moist. Nonetheless, I appreciate the simple ingredients which is much better than the store bought unhealthy version that loaded with refined sugar.
The doubting Thomas is at it again! 🤔😑
That was such a terrible thing for Bobby to say. Condescending and attempting to humiliate her. Disgusting, passive aggressive man
Beware of this guys protein powder. It says no nuts, but the small print says processed on machines and trucks that contain nuts!!!

Bobby, you should do a ‘Rate my diet’ series where you critique fan submitted daily diets alongside the brands they use. Would be interesting for sure.
That’s probably the worst idea I’ve ever heard. Why would anyone care what a salesman thinks about their diet? Bobby isn’t a nutritionist and he knows nothing about food. Do you really want the man in my profile pic giving you food advice? He can’t even stay in shape himself. Absurd
