  • Hey folks! This Rangers team has a toughness we haven't seen in decades. Up and down the line up. They won't be bullied out this year. Mika was the target in game one he came back last night and brought the goods. Bread was the target last night and he took out the whiney Oshie. When your best player is Wilson you are not beating anyone in the playoffs. I hope Rempe takes out Wilson early in gm 3 set the tone and serve notice.

    • seems like we’re able to punish teams physically, and be great on face-offs. When have we ever been able to talk about that, since the 90’s?

  • Great ep. I enjoy them all. I am a looooong-time Rangers fan and have been going to the Garden since being a kid during the Emile Francis days. I was at Game 2. I thought Mollie and Larry's comments about the Garden atmosphere being "off" in Games 1 and 2 were spot on and would just suggest this as a simple reason. The focus on "entertainment" and "customer experience" (and crazy prices) has been going on for a while and has resulted in a portion of the fan base that is more focused on selfies and mugging for Gardenvision opps, and not the game. The Garden entertainment team doesn't allow for the crowd to breath between whistles, as every second is devoted to video content that is distracting. One exception last night was after the non-call on Oshie's high stick on Panarin when I thought the crowd would storm the ice, if possible. Back in the day, including '94, the video technology obviously did not exist and it allowed the crowd to be more within the pulse of the game; for better or worse. We are dealing with the result of the evolution toward today's NHL entertainment experience, and the organic growl of the Garden crowd sometimes suffers for it.

  • Caps came out blazing last night…and still lost! They know they can’t win this series, so expect even more chippiness in g 3. No doubt Bread will be targeted, and he’ll be ready. Agree this Ranger team, from coach on down, will not be intimidated!! Let’s make this a quick series!!!

  • Of course there's apprehension. It's the New York Rangers. It's the team that almost always has the talent to win the Stanley Cup but never does. It's the team that always looks good in the regular season and makes a hard charge into the playoffs just to blow it. It's the team that makes moves at the trade deadline and gets superstar players that fall flat. The only thing the New York Rangers have had consistently over the last couple of decades is goaltending. We have this amazing combination of finding amazingly talented young goaltenders and then having the best coaching in the world behind them. Every goalie has a bad game here and there but for the most part goaltending is the only thing you never had to worry about with the New York Rangers. Those of us who know and love the New York Rangers also know that they are always one minute away from a total collapse in a game and in a series. I think you're going to see a lot of apprehension from a lot of fans until much deeper in the playoffs. I really like the way they're playing and even though game two was closer than I wanted it to be, I know that's because Washington was maxing out everything they had and obviously it still wasn't enough to beat us. I hope we don't get too involved in the rough stuff with them because there's just no reason to and it's more important to stay healthy for the later rounds in the playoffs. They know they can't beat us and that's why they're just trying to hurt us at this point. I think we really have to look out for Tom Wilson, because again they know they're not going to win so I wouldn't be surprised if he does something suspension worthy just cuz he can. I totally understand the apprehension though. I honestly don't think it's going to be until the semifinals and the finals where you really see fans super confident from puck drop.

    • I’ve been saying the same thing. This team is a good team but not cup winning team. Wish I was wrong. There’s a reason why they are not even in top 5 in odds to win the cup! And as far as Tom Wilson, I would trade half the team for that guy. Been saying it for years. Once washington is about to lose game 3, he will be hunting everyone down. Especially panarin.

  • BB thanks for voicing out supporting criticizing our own players and doing GMing, because in social media there are so many clueless fans and yet they are have equal voice. If you criticize their heros, man they band together belittle you and rip you apart. Most of them are just clapping seals and they get offended and jealous your knowledge.

  • Last season, the Rangers raced out to a 2-0 series lead but this postseason feels cautiously optimistic. This post season, the Rangers are being rewarded for their physical play. During Game 1, Lafreniere hit his man, causing a turnover and igniting offense the other way. Game 2, Wil Cuylle gave Tom Wilson a little taste of his own medicine, using his stick to ring Tom’s bells. Panarin hit on TJ Oshie, whether or not you thought the call or non-call was right, definitely made the Capitals feel something they haven’t before: Fear. Rangers gotta continue the momentum. Carolina is inevitable.

I am reminded of listening to Bill Chadwick, as a kid, and his intermission guests like King Clancy. Thanks.

He has been targeting Schneider and took a wild run at him last game which I don’t understand why it wasn’t called or discussed. He will attempt to hurt someone for sure. Need to be careful and keep emotions in check.

The real fans are traveling to the washingtons, carolina’s, new jersey’s etc. Every year so we can “go to a game” for an insurmountable fraction of the price. It’s Bullshit.
