Lakers were in the same exact situation last yr and made it farther than most ppl anticipated and they kept the roster together and are waiting for a couple to get back to 100%. I think if you factor all that up and include Chucks Gurentee then I love the lakers chances

Chuck always does this, but i have to admit hearing "they won't make it to the conference finals out the play in" when the Lakers did that exact thing last year is hilarious. Hell, Miami made the Finals as a play-in team. In Shaq's case, he's saying GS because theyre only there due to injuries and guys underperforming (Klay is declining) when the same happened to the Lakers this year. If both are healthy I'd take the Lakers as they have more talent. I've also seen the Lakers ceiling at times this year and it's way higher than GS'. Truthfully, after last year as long as they get in healthy they probably have a shot against anyone not named Denver due to the parity in the conference.

Agree with the broader point being made, but I do wish the guys watched these teams (Wolves, Thunder, etc.) more consistently so as to refine their opinions. It has been to the detriment of the half-court offense when KAT drives from the top of the key or posts up alongside Rudy--the starters for the Celtics space out around Porzingis in a fashion that the Wolves cannot replicate. But, as they slide him back to the five with the first shift of the bench, the Wolves FREQUENTLY operate through KAT and his mismatches, whether that be on the perimeter when traditional centers are guarding him or at the nail and below, particularly when his defender is of smaller stature (where teams almost always bring a double). You can question his effectiveness in such scenarios (KAT is not the most sound decision-maker when it comes to driving or passing out of doubles), but so often does Chuck depict him as someone who is unwilling to even attempt to punish mismatches, and that's just simply inaccurate.

Just a quick note: the Wolves have been putting Rudy in the slot more and more as of late, similar to how Utah has experimented with Kessler. While it's a shame that Ant still cannot maximize Rudy's presence in the dunker's spot on the weakside, this has opened up some room to cut and even perhaps the ability to post KAT up.

Kenny is absolutely right. If you can't get to 6 seed, you know you have to do the play in regardless. Like yeah it's "made up" but so is 82 games, 1 through 8, 7 games instead of 5 in the 1st round, etc. It's just reality now and teams are absolutely learning what it means.

Chuck always does this, but i have to admit hearing "they won't make it to the conference finals out the play in" when the Lakers did that exact thing last year is hilarious. Hell, Miami made the Finals as a play-in team. In Shaq's case, he's saying GS because theyre only there due to injuries and guys underperforming (Klay is declining) when the same happened to the Lakers this year. If both are healthy I'd take the Lakers as they have more talent. I've also seen the Lakers ceiling at times this year and it's way higher than GS'. Truthfully, after last year as long as they get in healthy they probably have a shot against anyone not named Denver due to the parity in the conference.

Agree with the broader point being made, but I do wish the guys watched these teams (Wolves, Thunder, etc.) more consistently so as to refine their opinions. It has been to the detriment of the half-court offense when KAT drives from the top of the key or posts up alongside Rudy--the starters for the Celtics space out around Porzingis in a fashion that the Wolves cannot replicate. But, as they slide him back to the five with the first shift of the bench, the Wolves FREQUENTLY operate through KAT and his mismatches, whether that be on the perimeter when traditional centers are guarding him or at the nail and below, particularly when his defender is of smaller stature (where teams almost always bring a double). You can question his effectiveness in such scenarios (KAT is not the most sound decision-maker when it comes to driving or passing out of doubles), but so often does Chuck depict him as someone who is unwilling to even attempt to punish mismatches, and that's just simply inaccurate.
Just a quick note: the Wolves have been putting Rudy in the slot more and more as of late, similar to how Utah has experimented with Kessler. While it's a shame that Ant still cannot maximize Rudy's presence in the dunker's spot on the weakside, this has opened up some room to cut and even perhaps the ability to post KAT up.

I want to see OKC vs Dallas. I think the Mavs are going to move up further (hopefully not against Denver) and those two teams match up great! It would be a great series and I think it's the Mavs' best opportunity to move on.
It's true that Laker and Warriors get too much media attention, but it's also true that 4-10 are all in the same ballpark in skill. It's all about health and flow going into the Playoffs. Any of those 4-10 teams can make it to the Conference finals if things swing their way.

Chuck is absolutely correct. Lakers & Warriors can sink to the 14th & 15th seed and networks will still talk them up as the team to be scared of and must see TV.
Simple Question if you can only watch one.. In Season tournament finals or NBA Final which one would you choose? that is the very point of everything..
Warriors won the championship 2 years ago & the Lakers were in the conference finals last year. Pair that with the fact they have 2 all time top tier greats and they are absolutely feared by the rest of the league if they get it together for the playoffs.
