    • @@BH-gh6qm Yea this segment seemed super awkward, when Letterman says "no one cares" at 8:13 it seemed like he was genuinely upset for some reason. The jokes weren't very good (didn't even really seem like jokes tbh, most top tier TV comedians at least know setup-punchline format so the support staff know when to laugh and react, but this didn't even have obvious laugh moments for the cohosts). There were other moments where Letterman seemed genuinely in a bad mood which is such a major mistake for a TV presenter.

  • I'm 54 years old. I remember babysitting at the neighbour's house and watching Letterman as a young kid. The man was viciously funny back then. Now he is a simple teddy bear of a man. Long live David Letterman....

I actually just saw two episodes of him in a Mary Tyler Moore variety show from before he hit the big time . They're both here listed by the same title : Mary ( unaired) 1978 . They also have a very young Michael Keaton in them .

  • Being 40, I always thought David Letterman was the best late night talk that was on at the time. How Leno beat him in the ratings always left me fucking astounded. Glad to see him on this show.

    • NBC affiliates aired Leno right after the local news. CBS affiliates-only about 70% at times. And Jay had higher profile guests being based in L.A. And Letterman put a lot of people off with "weird" comedy where Leno played it down the middle.

    • PR announcement incoming: I think he is the NBA's apparel sponsor next year through his company World Wide Pants. I'm guessing they will do shorts and tops as well taking over from Nike who will continue to do shoe deals with individual players. Inside sources liken Letterman's deal with the NBA to Drake's deal with the Raptors through his OVO company. Note: I'm trying to will this idiocy into existence... ;)

  • make it take it is actually such a dope idea. genuinely, maybe make the in season tournament make it take it. id love to see them check the ball at half court. sounds sick. maybe for all star, but Id like to see it used in an actual competitive setting. i wanna see the warriors down 22 with a minute to go and steph drains 8 threes in a row to put em up.

  • The thing is most in not all on this list sound pretty feasible and kinda good. That shows how broken the NBA in its present state IMO -Make it take it -Different rim height every quarter - mascott free throw in 4th qtr (that eliminates game fixing by refs in 4th) Comedic ways help NBA be taken more seriously.

  • I honestly think that it would be great for the NBA to move the 3-point line further back a bit (maybe 5 feet further back) and to deduct three points from the shooting team each time they miss a three..... I think that would quickly put a stop to this trend in today's game, where we see every team shooting an ungodly amount of 3-point shots per game..... The focus of the game once again would be inside the 3 point line, and only the very best 3-point sharpshooters would still shoot a lot of threes, like Steph Curry and Damian Lillard......
