This is another colab I did with @SBMowing. This elderly man really needed some help getting his property back in shape and he was shocked when we said we would do it for free. This place had been let go for awhile now and he was so appreciative for us coming over and cleaning it up. Go follow spencer at sb mowing because he has some really great videos.

It's great that they were able to step in and help. There are a lot of reasons the family may not have been able to immediately jump in to keep it from getting that bad. In the last three months I've had heart issues crop up and two surgeries. Frankly my children were concentrating on me. My son was embarrassed but told me that when he realized my yard was going to be getting out of hand he drove over there and found that a sweet gentleman who had done some work in the past for me had jumped in and kept it under control. I'm grateful ..VERY grateful if he hadn't, it might have been beyond what my family could have 'fixed'.
The same way my brother has allowed my mom’s house to do the same. He feels slighted because my sister called him out on his bad behavior, and he thinks my mother should have done something about it. So in turn, he decided to cut off our disabled mother and let her fend for herself, knowing she can’t take care of her yard, but not caring, and leaving it to everyone else to try and help.
Family did step in. Family may have health issues or financial problems. In the end the gentleman was helped by a good team.

Jean Bergin my brother was a genius of special needs in a way, lived for 80 years, and wouldn’t let any of us ever help him or touch any of his stuff even when he was little. We think maybe he was a combination of autistic and narcissist. You are what you are and he is what he is. He lived just like that. I cleaned up when he was in Florida, not once but two or three times during his life, and he loved it The fact is, he needed help but he wouldn’t let family do it- his space!!!
It could be his family could be 500 miles away from him.
Yeah, but he's not very tidy if he throws away cans on the lawn. Putting them into a trash bin is not difficult. Even disabled people can do that.

My husband does this for our neighbors. He helped both our next-door neighbors and our new neighbor down the street to clean and fix up their yards. It is amazing what you can do if you just look around you to see who needs help. Its doesn't always have to be on a huge scale because every little bit helps. Just offer.
I am medically retired from my job as a nurse. I’m unable to really do yard work unless I want to be incapacitated. I have had some mystery person or persons surprise me with a yard mow. Granted, mine was about 6 inches and I have a small yard, but the relief and the gratitude to whomever did it is there. I have no family left as I outlived my 3 younger brothers and my parents. I know you’ll get blessed for helping him and others like him.
Wow! I can picture how I’d feel to have this done if I were in his situation. What an amazing fresh start! What you guys do is life-changing for some of these folks and I pray the Lord bless you abundantly and KZhead treat you like royalty. :)

@Clyde: sometimes family lives far away. Sometimes family members still alive are old and can't help. Sometime family members don't have extra money for lawn mowers and gas. My hubby and I are in our 70s and 80s, and while we helped others when we were younger, we can't do it now. Our children live in many states because that's where the jobs are. So we have to hire our lawn mowing done by a company.
@@bookmagicroe9553you’re doggone right about that. Some family members live hundreds of miles away from ya. I have a cousin that’s currently in the Navy. He lives in Nevada. Way out from where I live. I live in Georgia 🇺🇸, my home state. We’ll all get old one day, and we won’t be able to physically do things normally that we used to do while we were young at the time. We can do with what we can.

Nice work. Both of you working ends of an area to find out what kind of patio/pathway exists. The owner absolutely knew he couldn't keep up and the two of you are making the place usable again. An interesting custom area you uncovered, a variety of bricks, colors put in next to a driveway and developed into walkways. Teamwork in clearing and mowing a large area. Love the final pictures. That was a wonderful gift to have given.

Bless you for doing this for him. I know when my old dad could no longer do his yardwork, I felt it was my responsibility to take care of it for him, and I did until he passed. He took care of me as a youngster, so was my duty to reciprocate as an adult. Now I'm an old man and have similar problems, but my kids are scattered all over the place and I rarely see them. I'm almost 70 and I still have to go into the bush to cut my winters firewood of six cords every year. Too expensive to buy these days at $300/$350 a cord.
