I TOOK ON this job as the local lawn guys WOULDN’T TOUCH IT

Head over to Costco and pickup some Scott’s Max - www.costco.com/scotts-max-law...
I came across 2 houses right next to each other that were CRAZY overgrown. They were obviously vacant as they were falling apart so I talked to the lawn guy right across the street taking care of a neighbors yard. He told me they’ve been out of control for a really long time and that the neighbors in the area would really appreciate them being cleaned up. So, I got to work with my Maruyama equipment cleaning up all of the edges and sidewalks. This makes the sidewalks usable again and increases the drainage for the entire area. After that, I got my Bad Boy Mower out and cut down the really tall grass for a nice, clean finish.

    • Maybe, but by the looks of it it's probably a tear-down. It's just so rotted out that the repairs would be too costly. Especially trying to keep it in-period. Just sucks when these beautiful old homes are left to rot. They really don't make them like they used to.

  • I was picking up my grandkids at school. There’s a soccer field at the school. Also another big area of grass connected to it. I saw an old guy mowing in the distance with a single blade mower. Me and the teachers were surprised. I walked out to talk to the guy. The church that runs the school has this guy work for them. He said the riding mower is broken. I loaded up my mower and knocked it out. My baby is a 22 horse power Husqvarna with flames.

Starting with 1/4 of tha towel, wipe spot where you have poison ivy blisters or feel the itch beginning. Fold towel in half & wipe firmly. Fold towel and wipe firmly. Do this as long as you feel an itch. My husband reacts violently to poison ivy. I do this for him and no blister appear or they disappear quickly. Try it. What have you got to lose?

  • I think, for some of us, this is an over whelming task, ‘where to start’, ‘where’s the edge of the walk?’ ‘Weed eat?’ Edger?” And i see you blow dry that first walk, and I’m already sucked in. You do amazing work. I sense it heals a part of you because you’re passionate about what you do, you help the community and you make an eyesore turn into sparkles. On video, it’s a whole 52 minutes… but in reality it’s 6-8 hours of back breaking, weed shoveling, blow drying, hedge trimming, lawn mowing work!! It’s quite pleasing to the eyes, the transformation that you do, kudos thanks so much!

  • In my 40s I used to do this kind of work to make the street by my house look more appealing. Most of the home owners were pretty good about keeping their yards in order. A few houses were occupied by elderly folks, and they had become over-grown. Of course, now I'm an elderly person,....I'm 70 and crippled. I pay a middle aged couple, who do the yard work for me. During Corona Virus years, I had to let things go. I loved improving the yards near mine, when I was able bodied. I did it for free,....and I made my whole street look real pretty. Great job there fellow!

Maintaining sidewalks and making sure grass isn't growing into the drains is definitely something the road crew should be handling before it gets this bad. I'm always amazed that these sidewalks can be so overgrown, but that probably is more of a warm climate thing, In places with cold winters clearing sidewalks of snow would keep them from getting full of dirt that causes grass to grow over them.

You should have used Al's big red monster 😅 Do you know the guy from the Boring Channel? Can you tell him to speed up his videos like you and Al do? It takes less timely and patience. The house was probably left to someone out of town who just pays taxes to keep it in their family. SB Moving, you gave life and hope to this beautiful Victorian home. Perhaps, the owners will now see purpose in renovating it for sell or rental. Great job!

    • Years ago, in the wintertime, my dad went to the hardware store. He stumbled upon an ice fishing tool that they use when cutting the hole in the ice. It is on a long handle and is a flat blade, maybe 6 inches long and 8 or 10 inches wide. It scrapes ice up off of the sidewalk and drive better than anything else. It also has a fairly sharp blade so that you can cut thru the ice as well. While watching Spencer attack the grass grown walks and drives, I have thought that that ice cutting blade would be a great tool to use. It would slide, with some pressure, under those roots and separate them from the cement. Worth a try, anyway. If nothing else, you would have a new winter weapon when attacking ice.
