Its that time of the year again, and for once I'm a few days ahead of myself. Made from Apple, finished with Shellac.

I always love watching your projects and seeing the wood become egg-shaped and thinking, "what is he going to incorporate into THIS egg???"

That green/gold resin is absolutely gorgeous! I've never seen that before. The piece itself is beautiful too but that resin is stunning.

...I don't like to read the description until afterwards as it generally spoils the ending...could not see where this was going and yes, I was amazed!!! It's gorgeous...👍 One question...did you hollow it to remove weight? You could've left it solid, hit it with the hole saw and carved it out with a dremel...or, is it the perfect place for hiding things?...😉 Anyway, beautiful work as always!!! Matt
Thanks, slight change in design, originally I was going to make an egg that could be opened, either way the weight is down for shipping.

Hey Matt, the outcome of your work here surely is beautiful to look at! So lots of respect again! But because I'm the complete opposite of a pro in woodturning and -shaping, I want to ask 2 questions: - Why did you put the log in half before adding the epoxy? You've cut it again later... 😅 - How can one change the battery of the clock or turn it to correct the shown time?
Log is cut in half and drilled out a bit to help with drying, even in the oven moisture in the centre of a log is difficult to get out. The clock insert is held in with a small rubber ring, you can take the clock out to change the time or battery.
