Gonzaga definitely struggled this year.. despite this, they just made their 9th straight sweet sixteen appearance. That's an incredible feat.

@@jeromedanielson4422 true they weren't in that game b/c they shot less than 20% from 3 pt line. However, they did rebound with uconn. If they can score at a good clip and lose a game in high 80's i guess it is not meant to be. If creighton can beat uconn by double digits then they are beatable. In march anything can happen. Zags have 7 good players' but little depth after that. Kranovich can give them a few spot minutes at guard. After that it is huge dropoff. Zags can't have foul trouble!

Mark Few is the best coach in basketball to adjust at halftime.

In over 30 years of watching this tournament, it's been my experience that when a blue blood benefits from a horrible call to steal a win, they always win at least once more and sometimes 2 or 3 more. Every now and then they even win the whole thing. This is the first time I can recall karma applying itself immediately. Not that it's any consolation to Samford of course. Just like it wasn't any consolation to UNC Asheville or Kennesaw St. when it happened to them.
I think not having a target on our back let's us play better. Proud to be a Zag today. (Biggest fan East of the Mississippi River)

37-6 run over 13 mins is incredible. Incredibly impressive by Gonzaga to score so much and incredibly embarrassing to only score 3 FGs in that long a stretch. We knew Kansas had no chance to win the title losing McCullar and having a hurt Dickinson but that was a total embarrassment.
And give Zags even more credit because they lost their marquis player, Steele Ventor, the first week of the season and Gregg is playing with an injured ankle.
The boys are peaking at the right time. Go Zags!
I’m a Syracuse fan but I’ve always rooted for Mark Few and Gonzaga to breakthrough one of these years because they are a really good team year in and year out, this year was technically a down year for them and they’re still 27-7!

Gonzaga has a good team that can play with anybody on a decent night, but they've been horribly inconsistent, mainly from three, and have some eye rolling losses. Thing is in most of those games we shoot like 18% from three, but in these last two we've gone 73% and 53% respectively. If we're hovering around 40% it's at least gonna be close.

I don't know them all by name, but you can find them calling the games. I can see why they feel the way they do. The Zags have lost Drew Time and Julian Strawther, plus they usually choke down the stretch

Let’s go Gonzaga I’m not a zaga fan by no means but I’m from Texas and moved up to Idaho for like 2 years and they where like 30 minutes so I always keep up with them it’s a dynasty

What a terrific game by the Zags. The underrated hero of this run has been Hickman. Everyone on the team has been stepping up and playing great but Hickmans consistency from deep and ability to run the pick and role has been massive

Kansas hung around longer than I expected leading by 1 at the half but with their lack of depth it just felt inevitable that Gonzaga was gonna come back and beat them in the 2nd half.

Kansas was overrated ALL year because he chooses not to play anyone good at the other teams arena until big 12. Only plays bluebloods at home or neutral site. Selfs lack of playing other pkayers to get experience cost him didnt it. Self is single handedly to blame for bad season

don’t know why the committee made this a potential 2nd round matchup because this felt like the final four. only difference is Gonzaga dominated the 2nd half. had them as my final four pick, still stands.

As someone old enough to remember when Gonzaga failed to reach the Sweet 16 11 times in a 13 year stretch, I still have trouble processing them getting that far 9 straight times now.
Hickman decided he would play like he should. Good decision. We were waiting.

Dickinson has to give more on defense at his size a lot of buckets were uncontested of not being aware or out of position. As a center if your guard gets beat you have to offer some kind of defensive support

3:45 they ran and old school flex offense (the one they ran before the 3pt line) I love to see it. Nothing but dribble handoffs and a bunch of ball screens. It’s the only offense (besides the motion variations) to survive all the changes the game has endured. I been a Duke fan my entire life, and I HATE LANSAS, with a burning passion. But from a coaches standpoint you can’t deny good old fashion old school offesnse.
One team adjusted successfully at half-time and the other team is Kansas. Thoroughly out-coached.
Karma is real and it collected on Kansas. The refs bailed them out against Sanford but couldn’t versus the Zags. Good for Gonzaga.

Kansas honestly did not deserve to be in the tournament. They had quality wins at home (3 - 7 on the road this year) against some top opponents earlier in the season, but anyone who followed them knew they were on a downhill trajectory getting worse and worse all year long, reaching their absolute worst level of consistency and play by the end of the year while other teams were peaking by then and improving as the year went on. Most overrated team of them all by the year’s end. Maybe an 8 seed would have made sense, but this was a KU team you knew would exit the tourney early. Why not give a more deserving team with a shot at a Cinderella Run a chance?
You have to look at the entire body of work.. They definitely deserved to be in the tournament, you're bugging...They won 1st round, and now they lost.... Saying they shouldn't have gotten in is bugged out, after the fact
They have great wins, especially over UCONN & Houston.. committee can’t overlook that.
They were about a 50-50 team from February through the Big 12 tournament, and they were placed as a 4 in the tourney based on the earlier part of their season. I am a KU grad, and based on years of watching the NCAA tournament, I just don’t understand why the announcers still say the Big 12 is the best conference in the country. It seems as if every year, they get 6 or more teams in the tournament and half are gone the first weekend.

As exciting as it is, Kansas is known to not be deep this year. That’s not the only reason it went the way it did, but it’s almost certainly partly to blame. Gonzaga came out hot in the second half, looked good on both sides of the ball. They looked great honestly. But Kansas wasn’t hitting their shots and looked tired as it went on
Think self should have subbed earlier. Their one guard missed four in a row. All open shots. Has to be someone on bench that could make open threes
