    • UCLA defied all expectations even to get to this game, then IMO played better against Gonzaga than they did in their prior wins, only to lose on a desperation half-court shot by the top player in the country. They have nothing to hang their heads about. Hats off to both teams and Suggs (representing the Twin Cities)! Now I hope Gonzaga can take down Baylor...

  • the nuance on that pass by Suggs at 40 is incredible. He had to lead the field, spin the ball to bounce ahead, and hit the floor where it would come up into where no one was yet. He nailed it perfectly and no one had to adjust and the defense couldn't. All while he was running himself. That's all completely intuitive at speed. A pool shot on the run.

These are the most exciting finishes when the players on the court decide the game without a zillion timeouts, fouls, stoppages or monitor reviews that usually cause the last minute of a game to drag out endlessly and kills the drama.

  • Ballers know that years of practice, years of skill, blood, sweat, and tears help to create a place where skill and luck can meet. To not give Gonzaga and UCLA credit for an amazing game seems like a travesty to me. When a guy practices a shot everyday and then makes it in the game it’s not just luck. Suggs form was spot on (20:36), his momentum carried him (and the ball) into a bank shot. Planned that way? No. Pure luck? No. Skill & luck are involved sometimes. But ballers create more of those moments via hard work. These guys have devoted their lives to their craft. Beautiful game.

  • Games like this are exactly why I believe March Madness is the greatest sporting event held every year. Other sports can have drama, but no other sport has a playoffs with 64 teams and as much drama. And no other yearly sport has kids that show such emotion, whether they win or they loose. They really do leave it all out on the court. It is inevitable that sooner or later, schools will begin to pay college athletes over and above the pay they already get in the form of full scholarships. When that happens, it is my view that these kids will not have to try as hard with the strong desire to reach the level where they get paid for playing as they will already be getting paid. Then you will see less and less of moments like this.

  • WOW 😳, what an unbelievable game! Both teams made play after play, one of the best games I've seen in many years..hats off to UCLA, that was their 3rd OT game of the tournament, plus they had to play one extra game- they played a brilliant game...but, Gonzaga proved that they are for REAL!! Jalen Suggs is a star, an NBA top 2 or 3 pick- that shot to win was special. Drew Timme was huge, 20+pts in 4 of the 5 tourney games, he took the charge from Juzang at the end of regulation- then scored first 6pts for Zags in OT. Now, the matchup most people wanted in the championship game- #1 Gonzaga vs #2 Baylor. Could be another classic game, go Zags!

  • I think people forget that not only did Suggs block Riley's shot clean, but he also rebounded the ball then went like a bullet-train and at half-court made a perfect bounce pass at full-stride amongst four UCLA players that were back on defense already and Timme made a great catch and stuffed it. Might be the play of the entire tournament, NO CORRECTION, it WAS the play of the entire tournament. Watch it again and tell me no. Might be one of the best sequences I have seen in College Basketball in 10 years.
