Here's an idea for DMC 6. Nero hires two more demon hunters and starts growing the business, and they have to go rescue Dante and Vergil from hell. Once there, Nero lays it on Dante how he needs to start saving up for his retirement, how he needs to actually look for work and advertise, how he has to pay his rent and utilities and how can't keep living off pizza. Maybe he also tells Vergil how much of a deadbeat he is and all that. Devil May Cry 6: Financial Stability.

When I figured out that V can use his cane to parry enemies it made his playstyle go from great to amazing.

The last game that gave me such a sense of satisfaction and happiness was Doom 2016.
Yamato had the ability to cut through dimensions in 3. That's how he got to the fight with Arkam. It was probably very taxing when Vergil was young.
When it comes to DMC 2, Vergil says it best...
V and Vergil aren't quite the same, v is part of Vergil but the novel heavily implies V was truly on Dante and Nero's side, he just recognized that he NEEDED to go back to himself and become Vergil again
What would be super sick with Vergil is if they gave him 3 weapons based on Griffin, Shadow and Nightmare

Wait... How is the sword a retcon? In dmc it was said it can open/close portals. It seems pretty normal that Virgil didnt know how to use his own ability and years later he learns. More like a natural progression rather than a retcon

Just give Trish Alastor. Had the same overall moveset as Sparda, Cavalier Angelo looks like it. Plus more fanservice.
Vergil's actions caused the death of potentially thousands if not millions of human lives, so I think Dante wanting to shoot first and not ask questions is justified.
