I have a modern styled house but every time Stephanie does something I always wonder how it would look in my home 😆. The only thing I can recreate are the charcuterie boards, cups of tea, breads and pastries!
I love a combination of modern and old in houses and interiors. I think if you have one or two particular styles/design movements you truly love (eg, Art Deco, Rococo, Arts & Crafts) and you also make permanent design decisions mostly that honor the original era and style of your home, you can mash up a few different decoration styles in a way that looks eclectic but unified! And you can use contemporary pieces in the design styles you love, and repros, and antiques, all in one space. I think it also helps in this case to have a fairly defined or limited color palette as well, and to have a strong editing eye when it comes to knickknacks, letting the interiors, furniture, soft furnishings, and wall art do most of the decor work.
@@twobluestripes it sounds so nice but when I do it it always ends up bad 😆. Much as I try I am just not the creative type! Except when it comes to food then I’m gold!

If you don't want to see chains or wire holding up the bed crown, you can use monofilament (fishing line) in a heavyweight specification (100-200 pounds).

Absolutely beautiful Stephanie because of you I have turned my room into a little piece of Paris! In my room with apple sage green toile wallpaper on back wall other three walls painted the colour of the wallpaper & I found a porcelain chandelier also an old window frame mirror and french side tables that match the colour now I am inspired to make the box over my bed! I am just loving my bedroom because of you & so inspired by your visions, thank you 🙏🏻 so much! I don’t want to leave my room lol!
Stephanie has inspired me to stencil a chinoiserie pattern on one wall of my bedroom (last summer) and to paint my bathroom the color of her bedroom doors with gold taps and vintage art I’ve thrifted (this summer). The bathroom has a high ceiling and room for more art as I find it. I credit her inspiration with keeping me sane. Thank you to Stephanie and all the la Landers!

It’s really important that my room is my zen place which Stephanie inspired me its a small home & I want my room to be my final happy place which I am achieving because of her! The joy she has brought to so many people because of her zest, love & inspiration for life has touched a lot of people especially me! I quite liked it, it had a fun modern kick. But I am also redecorating my bedroom right now, and even things that were a good idea and that you enjoyed for a period need to change eventually because you just get tired of them and yearn for something else!
I hated it. - if you are going to use a trim - don't have it going around the beams etc - just have it along the ceiling line...

I just love to see progress! Well done Stephanie, Dan, Philip, Kat and Michael, the crown looks phenomenal. I cant't wait to see it complete with it's curtains. Selmar looks so sophisticated in his summer attire and Michael Potts looks years younger than the last time I saw him. I cannot quite decide what he has done, but he looks even more handsome.
Stephanie that crown was made for your room..... the gold matches your bed and wall lights perfectly and the colour of the material goes so well with the wall and door colours!!!! I never minded the pink tape but have to admit it looks so much better without it

@@jomeyer13 I think it'll be safe and ok. Perhaps Selmar could have a look, but it's secure as it is now. The more permanent solution with chains is better and as it should be, but the wires are strong enough.
