Why don't you show your face? I think you are amazing and should be proud to show your face. However, If not I enjoy and look forward to your new projects...
Cool 😎, it looked like you were using a flux mig welder, if you switch to a gas mig welder there will be less spatter
@@GrooveyGrubworm It is a gas mig, I have a video about it on my channel
I really like these restoration videos, would you ever consider doing a video about making decals ? They add so much to a project and I would like to learn, thanks for all your hard work
Me and my friend are rebuilding a engine out of a 1998 toro wheel horse just wondering if you had any tips that would be great!!!
These videos are like free therapy
Yeah sleep therapy 😌
I was just thinking the same thing Monty!
Serious therapy is about uncomfortable change healing and growth, not relaxing infotainment.
@@reallyhappenings5597 Wow...thanks for that
@@reallyhappenings5597 If you are going to be pedantic, try at least being right. Therapy just means treatment intended to relieve or heal. It covers a lot of things, not just psychotherapy. Hence, why you can get a "therapeutic massage"...
One of the finest restorations ever. No detail left unattended. Looks like she just came off the showroom floor! Awesome craftsmanship...
Absolutely Brilliant - And newer said a word. Thanx
I am also a person with many skills. Watching this video, I really admire the remarkable meticulousness and patience of the master. thank you
Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower kzhead.infoUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.
As an 82 year old retired diesel mechanic I really enjoy the time you spend on all components. The results really shows.
Another beauty!! Almost hated to see it being used and getting dirty! Great job!!
Me: Brought back to life, ready to work again! 😁 Also me: You're going to scratch the paiiiint 😱
A pleasure to watch especially things like the diff and gearbox actually being stripped and cleaned where half the people just steam them off and paint them thinking thats a restoration.
It would seem to me, that guys like you who enjoy and appreciate restoring old stuff most people would consider junk, not efficient, and out dated, would build a business off it. Either restoring and selling, or restoring and putting in a museum. Which you own of course. But I'm glad you can share the knowledge of how old tech works and operates.
Some of the hero’s of our generation are these men and women who take the time to save these beautiful machines from the scrap yard! Beautiful job! 😊
This was exceptionally well done. Not just the mechanic work, but also the filming and editing ! Not many folks would go to the trouble of fixing something like this. Love to see things given a second chance at life
Beautiful restoration,to think how many small machines are scapped it's so satisfying to see them being lovingly restored to there formal glory ,well done ,you restoration vides have inspired me to save a maximum Briggs 5hp Rotavator and a fleet of Briggs and Stratton lawnmowers to restore them and keep them running which I really have enjoyed ,cheers Machinary Restorer
Was a morning paperboy and budding trash picker. Had a stash of mowers and engines. Fixed them all. My mom made me sell them when we made a long distance move.
Unfortunately today we live in what i call a plug and play society where we use something until it breaks and then we throw it away and buy a new one. Plus the products today don't have the same requirements as they did then. Companies are more interested in making as much money as possible instead of producing the best product possible.
Well done for that future project!
Recently retired maintenance mechanic. You light my passion for restoration! Thank you for wonderful work!
A few comments if I may.. Every project you complete blows my mind. The patch of grass (testing ground) is a nice touch to show off your abilities. Finally this is by far my favorite project to date. You rock.
Enjoy watching these type of restorations. It would be nice to see the dates on this various parts of the restoration so one knows the overall length of such a project. Keep up the good work
This project took from May to September
I envy Daggerwin. The tools, a gift of knowledge. A brilliant man. My hat goes off to you Daggerwin.
In simple words...........AMAZING!!!!!! Thank you for your effort. Now I have so much confidence on the old equipment that I have to restore.
I've never restored anything in my life - but I truly enjoy watching your videos! I love the process, it's bringing something back to life! Your skills are top-notch.
This is a beautiful restoration, and I love the way you have only the natural background sounds mixed with the tools that are used. It's a great video that needs no other music.
Should have gone directly to a museum of fine art! Permanently retired from duty! Very satisfying restoration. I look forward to many more! ❤
I like that he showed it in action at the end. That made me smile. A master's hands at work. This was a lot of fun to watch. He has a right to feel proud.
Watching you do this is wonderful. Reliving my childhood watch my grandfather doing restoration
Very impressive! Great piece of work and craftsmanship. Always a pleasure to see old machines getting a second life. 😃👍🏻
If the engineers who originally designed and manufactured this machine 52+ years ago were still around, you would make them very, very proud. 🙂
Yes!
Holy cow! You put an enormous amount of work into it, but it looks beautiful now! It's so great to see vintage machines being saved and restored instead of just being thrown away.
What. An. Outstanding. Job. Of. Restoration In Every. Detail. It. Looks Like. Brand. New. Do. More. Roger. St.
Always eager to see the next restoration, rigorous work, not a single detail is left out, great craftsmanship as usual and above all, no stupid, useless and horrible thecno music, to rot our brains out ! Respect to the man and his know-how!
It's encouraging to see that there are still a few people who know how to work on equipment and do it with excellence.👌
I can remember watching my older brother and father doing exactly what you did, a great watch and an even better result.
That differential reminds me of one that my dad got from an old mower at the scrap yard years ago. He made a three wheeled bicycle, and use a petrol bike engine on it, but he wanted to make sure that power went to both wheels, so he utilized the differential on it. It turned out nicely for him. Incidentally, if you ever need to make a rotation reverser for, say, a steering box, simply remove the sprocket, and apply mounting brackets in it's place. Turning the wheel to the left will turn the box to the right.
Amazing resto!! look's like it just rolled of the show room floor and performs like it to! Can not wait for the next one!
Thanks for the memories. Would have given consideration for giving up my first born (joke) for some of the gear you use when working on our old bangers. God bless and keep you.
In 1978/88 i worked as a foreman gardener and inherited their ancient so it seemed to me Hayter Condor, self propelled ride behind ( with cast iron rollers and non-suspension seat above). It was very similar to this machine,it had a Briggs and Stratton 5bhp petrol engine, corded pull start motor with two circular cutting discs fitted with four blades each. It looked ungainly but was in fact very comfortable to use, very reliable and made a good cut. On average i cut about nine acres of lawn every week.
Fantastic restoration, love seeing old Equipment being brought back to life.
Fantastic work! Interesting that some of the engines inner components appeared brand new while others looked well worn. Thanks for the great content,
Brings and Stratton must have an excellent stock of spares for even the older engines. Nice to see an all metal engine and not one with throw away plastic parts.
A man who takes pride in his work crafts the most beautiful things
Very nice job, I also restore vintage lawn and garden machines as a hobby, I don’t have all the fancy tools you have but I do ok, I love restoration projects, just something about bringing old discarded equipment back to life that I enjoy. Anyway keep up the excellent work and I’ll keep watching!
Your work is amazing! I love your attention to detail!
Thank you so much!
Excellent thorough restoration. Thank you for saving this vintage brush cutter. It's a rugged, useful all-steel piece of equipment with many years of useful life ahead.
Well done on saving another classic mower, love the way you bring them back from the dead, Amazing.. 🔙👍
Another great video, your attention to detail even to those areas you can’t see is amazing. One hint, slightly inflate the tube when placing inside the tire, will help prevent pinching the tube when seating the tire. Great work!
As said before the best entertainment. I learned a lot and cannot stop watching 😃 Thanks for letting us watch this awesome transformations every time!Greetings from Germany and have a nice weekend
I just happen to come across this video, dude it’s so perfect the wind and the birds, mixed with fixing a warn out machine, this is like the best day ever
it is good to see a proper restoration here. There are so many false resto's on fb, with just a pull down, quick spray paint, then put back together , with no new bearings, seals, valve lapping etc. Spray painting with no masking.. Just junk, put up jobs.. This is a proper restore.. well done .. And thank you
Awesome restoration Daggerwin! Looks just like new again, as always, keep up the great work😃
This restoration is amazing it looks like it just came off the showroom floor. You do spectacular restoration work. Enjoy your channel and content thanks for a great video. ❤🇨🇦
Who would have guessed Steven Spielberg was moonlighting as a mower repair guy??? Spectacular video Steve! Love your work :)
Glad you liked it!
Thankyou for a very entertaining video. Brought back many memories to an old man who worked on such machinery most of his life. A treat to see something from the pre plastic era so well rebuilt.
Always enjoy your restorations. Really like seeing stuff returned to like new. Don’t care for the patina look 👍
That’s a good restoration. And I just wanted to say because of your videos I’ve started restoring things
Dedication,as the late but Great Roy Castle used to sing . That's all you need . And boy have you got it !.
Fantastic workmanship in restoring this old wolseley, i love watching your videos and saving old machines from the scrap heap 👍
Absolutely fantastic! Very impressive work, filming and editing👍👍👍👍👍
Beautiful work, a great restoration. Thank you for making this and sharing it with us!😊
This may not be a golf course mower but it's more like a mini-Gravely. Nice work, looks great
Excellent you are the first person to undercut the commutator. Very important to stop arcing between the segments as it spins around. also helps prolong the life of the brushes.
Very nice restoration, that machine is worthy of your skills.
Yes worthy of loving care. Solid engineering design.
absolutely amazing job! That thing is a beast, and you did a great job getting it back to brand new. I especially loved that fuel bowl, I don't know why but that was my favorite part of the build because I just think it turned out really awesome. Definitely a very cool build!
I REALLY enjoyed this. As a kid I used to cut the local church graveyard with a machine like this. We had a small Hayter which would fit in-between gravestones. When I'd finished I used to say, "There you go peeps ya all just got a haircut".. I was 12. Looking forward to the next one.
This man does not "cut grass" with lawnmowers. He restores these machines, then feeds them the grass, delighting as they eat it!
This will be very interesting. We bought a new one of these (by that i mean kind of same type of "grass field trimmer" / brush cutter) a couple of weeks ago. Quite similar looking except it doesn't have the front wheel, only a bendt metal rod. Drive wheels are very similar.
You resurrected a BEAST!!! You should be very proud of your work. I loved your video.
A new Toro 33522 Brush Cutter BRC-28 is $7500 list, it's about this size. Restoring this machine for $500 would be one heck of a bargain. I was 12 years old when this mower was made. Now you got yourself a "new" machine, that is as valuable as the work it can do. Great video.
Remanufacture is better than original build(with pristine parts). Beautiful restoration, especially with DOVE SOUNDS in background. Am 80+, have always preferred salvage when possible. Craftsmanship admired.
big tip for you if you are removing rusty bolts and they are stiff then wind them back in a bit and out again and repeat this several times. it reduces the risk of them snapping dramatically. and also the headache of drilling them all out later. other than that i love these video's restoring old things like this :)
What a fun project..thanks for taking us along...
It amazes me how well these machines were built back in the days of old. Anything made now lasts maybe 5 years before it needs replaced or completely overhauled, which costs more than a new one. This machine is no different, some time, knowledge, and new parts and it's clearly still ready for action and real use. Well done!!!
Beautiful restoration Should last another 50 years! Even longer with someone taking good care of this unit. Cuts nicer that some of the newer units. With the 10 HP motor it should handle anything you can throw at it. Great Job
It. Very. Amazing. How. You All. Can. Restore. This. Briggs And Srtratton. Engine. To. Brand. New. Condition. Amazing. Roger. St Good. Job. Send. Replay.
I could watch you hours. Brilliant. I would never be able to use it if I had made such a great job of restoring it. Beats me how you remember where all the part go after taking it apart. All the best. Mick. Got to go now to watch another one.🇬🇧
Its always amazing how the one doing work remembers where everything goes.
I have many restorations.. generators, air compressors, riding mowers, push mowers, most any 4cycle engine you can think of, I have a storage unit or two full. once I've rebuilt, I don't want to get rid of them. I'm not fond of 2 cycle engines. occasionally I will repaint or powder coat, some I leave original patina on. I'm 64 and been repairing and rebuilding since I could hold a wrench. I've never bought or had the desire to buy new. I enjoy your videos and watching a fellow restoration activist in action. Good day.
Incredible job bringing this machine back to life. Looks new.
Excellent restoration and craftsmanship
Good for another 50 years. Well Done!
I’ve enjoyed watching this restoration more than any I have ever seen so far what a beautiful job I enjoyed watching the grass cutting but I would have left it in the garage and just looked at it.
Whenever I’m having a bad day I throw on these videos and it really relaxes me. Thank you for what you do.
I am in awe of your ability to remember where every part goes!!!!. Wonderful job. I found it very therapeutic. I am looking forward to binge watching other videos on your channel
I am blown away how you can even remember how to put it back together!
Nice job man 👏. You turned junk into treasure.
YES !! 10/10 a second life ! Ilove to see old things see repaird en restored in this trow away society.Wel done.Greetings from Belguim.
Wow, that's the best restoration I've ever seen. You can tell right away how much heart and soul you put into it
That was the best cat grooming around thank you for teaching me how to groom my cat
I love to see full restorations not one of those that just rebuilds only the motor and then stick it back on a junky tractor. Great job.🤠👍
Standing ovation! First time here, will be back for more! Thank you.
An absolute pleasure to watch your video and see the end result.....your attention to detail is outstanding...and to see her working again....awesome...a true workhorse....subscribed....🏴
How does this guy know all this stuff. Very talented and blessed. Lucky dawg.
Amazing rebuild.
I can totally see why you restored it at the end. That thing is a beast! Great job!
Nice machine we have one of the first DR mowers and it still mows great. Can't beat old machinery
Sure is having the perfect tools to do the job. And an experienced technician. Wonderful video learned a lot. Keep it up.
Thank you for these, I know the editing is a lot of work.
You did a Beautiful, Restore, This is the way a restore should Look.
So I’m old enough to remember that my GrandDad had one of those in the late 70’s and it did NOT look that good brand new!! Awesome job Sir!!
Keep these old machines working
You’ve reached My Mechanics levels with the “I’ll make a new one” 🎉
What a nice restoration. From junk to a proud mower. I will not use it but I would make a small museum of old mowers.
Awesome job, I'm sure glad you remembered where all the parts went after taking it all apart. 👍👍👍👍👍😉🇺🇸
My dad as got this exact machine he bought it brand new it needs restoration doing now though never let us down and it's done some big jobs. Its being In a dry garage since he retired 15 years ago. I need start doing it hope it turns out half as nice as this one. They knew how to build machinery back then. Nice job 👍.
One of the most meticulous restorations I have ever seen! A project like this serves to remind us of just how many parts there are to something relatively simple as a lawn mower! Well done sir!
