The Race World Offshore Key West Championships is an exciting annual event that brings the world's top offshore boat racers to Key West. In today's video, Team Allen Lawncare and Landscaping defies Haulover Inlet. Based in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Team Allen Lawncare is ready for the 2021 season with a new cockpit paring in its 32-foot Doug Wright catamaran. McDowell and Allen have been practicing in the team’s 32-foot Doug Wright catamaran on the Lake of the Ozarks, their home-water, in Central Missouri. In 2017, the team earned Super Boat International world, national and Florida championships. Two years later, the team finished fourth-place overall in its class during the inaugural six-race American Power Boat Offshore Championship Series, which saw some of the largest and more competitive Super Stock-class fleets in the history of the sport.

Brought back memories of the time i was on a 50 plus foot Hatteras, with a few drinks in me i climbed up to the highest place on the tower. Being thrown back and forth 30 feet in each direction, i watched the super boats make the turn at the offshore grand prix here in sarasota on the west coast. There had to be 6 to 8 ft. swells and I'm telling you it was unbelievable, those huge monsters were launching out off the water at high speed on that turn! After a couple minutes i came back down and enjoyed the rest of the race. Love those race boats in your video, thanks for bringing those memories back! Love the channel and keep those fantastic videos coming!

I think back in the late 80s they held an offshore powerboat race and used the Haulover Inlet as part of the course. The boats went out into the Atlantic, went around a few buoys, then came back through the inlet and turned around and then started another lap going back out into the Atlantic. I was there and took a few pictures. Seems like a crazy idea now..

If you have never been to the Lake of the Ozarks shootout, you need to go. The fastest boats in the world have been there. Well worth the trip.

Simply awesome. The drone shots are 1st class. BTW that Air & Marine vessel at 7:30 is a Coastal Interceptor 41’ w/ quad Merc 350’s. It’s mainly used by US Customs & Border Patrol. It visits the Cut just South of you regularly. Keep up the great work 😉

Mad drone skills, the last boat recorded are some of the most difficult shots having to blend the sideways flying with reverse and then forward flying all while keeping the camera on the boat. Controlling the drone as well as the camera's movement and doing it seamlessly is tough for even experienced operators.

As a nanny state resident of Australia where bar crossings require all boat occupants wear life jackets by law and all children under a certain age to wear life jackets at all times. I can see why we have those laws when I see how close to certain death some of these crazy captains are and the lack of responsibility they have for their passengers and children. I don’t like being ordered to do it either, I’d do it anyway.
All I can think when viewing these boats is, man the rich need to be taxed more! PS - that Wright Cat looks like it rides like crap.

Need for speed, I guess. A 57’ MTI with quad 400s will hit mid to upper 60s. Clearly not fast enough for some, and with quint 450s, it will get into the low to mid 80s.

Can't understand why adults in smallish boats are happy not to wear life jackets. But to take kids in boats without life jackets, that's straight up irresponsible and very stupid.
