In this episode of BlacktipH, we explore the northern coastline of San Salvador, fishing on huge rock cliffs, and I caught a new species of grouper, a Nassau Grouper. Some of these rock cliffs were over 50ft! After a few casts, both Preston and Josh started hooking fish. We caught snappers and jacks. We moved to the most northern point of the island, and Josh hooked a monster! After an intense battle, Josh landed a huge Nassau Grouper, his first-ever of that species. This was an incredibly impressive catch on 10lb test. To release the grouper, Josh had to climb over the cliff and slide down the other side with the grouper. Before leaving the spot, Josh hooked a large triggerfish. Preston and Josh headed back to Riding Rock before heading down to the south side of the island. Josh hooked another triggerfish and this was the biggest one he’s ever seen! This was by far the largest triggerfish Josh has ever caught! We ended the day cleaning the fish and playing with the sharks at the marina.

3:26 those fish that you thought were hybrid blue runners are actually fish called Bar Jacks or Red Jacks, they taste amazing and are excellent bait for deepwater fish like wahoo and marlin, kinda like a bonita in the shallows
We use them for Wahoo Bait here in San Salvador👍 and they are bar jacks

Imagine the snorkeling off this island, or the scuba diving. I'd love to see it
San Salvador has been ranked as high as number 3 in the world for scuba diving by Dive Magazine and Scuba Magazine. The Wall here is second to none...and if you can't dive the snorkeling is unreal...I don't know of anyplace else in the country you can take 5 steps on a sandy beach into the water and hit a reef teaming with life. There are some amazing spots for kids or not so strong swimmers without having them go far out to a half decent reef.
On a trigger fish I cut around the fish grab the skin with a plier and pull the skin off leaving no meat on the skin..

San Salvador Bahamas offers the best of both worlds that not many places can. The ability to fish from shore and yet still catch big game as if your deep sea fishing. Its a fishing Adventure every day, and no need to worry about getting sea sick :)
