500-Pound Marlin Surprise - Offshore Fishing an Uninhabited Coast in Panama

2021 ж. 1 Қар.
293 012 Рет қаралды

In this episode we're taking a small panga 2 hours down the coast from Los Buzos Panama to wild, uninhabited coastline to scout out some remote beaches for our adventure camping trips. After finding a few breathtaking locations in the middle of small islands, we decide to test these remote waters. The bite is absolutely INSANE on vertical jigs and giant poppers with yellowfin tuna, bluefin trevally, rainbow runners and more filling the cooler in a couple hours.
But things really take a turn for the wild when the biggest fish swimming in these waters takes our bait when we least expect it.
Want to fish these waters and camp on a remote beach with us?

  • That Marlin was epic. I caught a 220 blue in HI a few years ago. In July of this year I had a 300 to 400 pounder tailwalking behind the boat but I lost him after about 30 seconds. I know the thrill you experienced. The tug is the drug. Congrats!

  • G'day Robert, I reckon this episode was absolutely amazing mate. It brought back some great memories. Panamanian waters offer such amazing fishing, with an incredible diversity of fish. The variety of species, makes it fun. I've been fortunate enough to fish Panama three times and had an absolute blast on each excursion. The highlight of our last trip was a 700 lb. slob, Black Marlin. I was dragging arse for a couple days, after the 6-hour fight. We fished south of Isla Coiba near Jicarita and Jicaron. We caught and released two Black's, Including my 700 lb. slob, and one beautiful Blue, plus some absolute behemoth Tunas, among many other species. Cheers from Western Australia 🇦🇺.

    • @@YakFishField G'day Robert, if you ever make it back to OZ, come December thru April to Western Australia and I'll set up one of my charter boats and put us on some massive Black, Striped, and Blue Marlin, along with amazing Sail Fish, Short Billed Spearfish and Broadbill Swordfish in Exmouth & Ningaloo Reef along with some personal hotspots! We can also take out the Sea Doo watercraft and go spearfishing and also catch some giant Crays (lobsters). The fishing and water activities here in Western OZ are absolutely amazing mate!!! Hope you can make it to OZ. Cheers from Margaret River, Western Australia 🇦🇺.

    • I would use 50# braid and 50-60# fluoro leader for poppers that size. Reel size around 6000
