@@thedonutmen3471Yep I switched off PC crossplay on my PS5, avoids the majority of cheaters, and gives a more even experience. I have no issue oddly have console to console crossplay - I do miss my XBox playing peers of the past, and I think all multiplayer games should give an option about who you crossplay with - in the modern world that should be easy to achieve.

Honestly, I would have paid full price for just Portal alone if it was the main focus with updates and new additions. It has so much potential with mixing and matching all the old battlefields and maps and yet they don't do much with it.

Putting Vince in charge seems like the most tone-deaf thing EA can do. They're responding to people complaining about the BF games losing their identity by copying CoD & Apex with giving the IP to the guy directly responsible for making CoD and Apex... Yeah; I have total faith the next BF game will feel more like Battlebits and less like CoD...
To me, in some aspects BF needs to change to survive. It's just that they've fucked their response to that need. Instead of keeping a core battlefield experience we all love while peppering in more mainstream COD/Apex game modes and content, they tried to dive headfirst and toss away the core BF experience. A BF can have a battle royale, or a looter shooter game mode, but they shouldn't lose sight of what attracted their original player base. You can have new, but don't forget the old
bro no battlefield games are the same and im fine with that. battlefield (unlike COD) changes with every new installment which is awesome but insted we get people who want to spend their money on the same thing because of the brand. I wouldnt buy any other battlefield game if they were all the same

@@surf4chnl248 This. I'd been a BF die-hard since 1942 back in the early 2000s and have since stopped buying the games because they want to change so much that they may as well be a whole new IP. The only aspects of the pre-BC games that survives is "large scale combat with multiple vehicle types," but the core emphasis on teamwork and relying on others has been repeatedly smashed against the wall to the point where it's barely even recognizable as part of the core experience.
My tinfoil theory on this is that EA wants to shift away from a grounded experience to make hero mechanics more acceptable.
Not a theory, you're right. Battlefield died after 1, the golden era ended years ago. I'm confident that the next Battlefield will be another monumental disappointment, there's no way they'll ever recapture the old glory. Even if the gameplay is good, the tone will be more in line with modern war games which have goofy skins and are less grounded. 99% of my bf4 and 1 friends don't care about or play 2042 (including me). EA/DICE has obviously accepted that they lost the core fans and they're chasing a different crowd now.

Some people want BF1942/BF2 back, some people want BC2, others want BF3, while others want BF4 or BF1, and a whole different group just wants BF Hardline/BFV; but each game offers a slightly different experience that's more or less true to the original game to different degrees. The reception to BFV's attrition gameplay is a huge indicator that DICE can't actually go back to making classic BF-type games because they've garnered too much attention from the CoD crowd that they now expect to be catered to as well - which means no future BF game can ever please everyone in the community.

Premium wasn't perfect but it was infinitely better than these last two live service battlefield games.

I think it would be a good idea for dice to use the next year of content (if it happens) as a testing ground for the next "big thing" for the coming games

I do think there’s something more to this, also EA just announced their new Anticheat, so the timing might be in anticipation to the release of the rumored F2P Battlefield game.
The thing missing from portal is those epic Bf1 and Bfv maps, that would be a bit of laugh with the BF2042 weapons.

I actually thought the idea of from that BF7 leak earlier this year regarding a BF extraction game mode where you extract out of Moscow sounded pretty cool

I really hope this leads to new specialist so that the sets are even with four specialists each class, we are looking for missing no-pats and even Falck's missing son has been hinted at here, it would be fantastic that we find a no-pat or two that survived the experiments and they join our roster, also about the lore from the cards, it feels very resident evil meets hunger games, I wonder if the AI is responsible for keeping things running smoothly while candidates fight it out in order to add to their augmentations, this could be the season six event.
Certainly some interesting theories and the evidence does seem to point in that direction, especially with Ryan MacArthur's comment saying we'd be surprised but ''wow, that's really Battlefield''. I do worry about how the community would receive such a game mode though. Personally I've never really understood the alure of Zombies modes.

DICE brilliantly creates a narrative where they can officially leverage their AI soldiers as an actual feature in the game with prosthetic combat capabilities in artificial and changing environments? Scarier than zombies and possibly innovative adding new relevance for EMP, Hacking, Signal Jamming, Flash Lights and Lasers? Or brilliantly drip feeding easter eggs, PAIK's letters to creators, videos etc. to allow our imaginations set unrealistic expectations?
It's in better shape but on PS4, no one is playing it. I keep getting matches with the same people if I can find enough players for a game, and I'm talking about the menu games, not portal. I had no idea how much people play for the battlepacks, I guess. It's a ghost town.

I don't know, perhaps they might be trying to justify (salvage) the reason why the same specialists exists on both factions and in multiple quantities. That is they are trying to say that the original specialists were recruited, had their brains scanned into AI for combat training purposes and have now been deployed in either a virtual reality experience to gauge their combat efficiency or are deployed in artificial personnel. Could also be assumed that the story is represented of events that have already transpired and that the Androids or AI are engaged in a kind of forever-war; not actually working for the US or Russia but just carrying out their prime functions. Specialists that are missing will probably come back in Battlefield 7 in the form a campaign mode to help stop the forever-war maybe by destroying some Skynet like super computer or something I don't know who knows? Complete shot in the dark though I don't play this game; only installed earlier this week for the first time since launch to see if it were more to my liking.
They just need to pull the plug on this shit show like they did for BFV and work on the next battlefield even though the next battlefield will be shit as well since EA is in charge with this game

They wrapped up nothing…there is so much unexplored lore from this setting. All we got is barebones nothingness. Just start to watch the first launch movies and start asking why nothing like that setting made it into the game. It just isn’t there. Bf5 had the same problem with so much untapped potential in story but did literally nothing with it. We just need a normal BF game just like battlebit did. Its insane how groundbreaking it is without it doing anything new.
May be a halloween type event but really hope it's not
PvE has potential, I liked the BF3 Coop, but that was heavy on immersion, which other games already do.

They arent going to release a standalone experience.....not right now. It makes no sense for them to do it right now, they have everything they need to release a zombies mode in 2042, they arent going to make a separate experience
How to avoid ai?
2042 could be the underdog. I personally think that it got polished out. But it still has a very long way to go. But if you look at CSGO, it was garbage the first year or so. Then, it was extremely popular for about 10 years. I think if dice does everything just right and these other new releases like MW3 fail, which they might. Then, Battlefield 2042 could be back at the top of the AAA fps game list. Honestly, this would be their best move, and I can appreciate that they work on the game instead of dropping a huge patch, charging $70-$100, and calling it an new release every year. Like COD. So hopefully, with the new anticheat, we will start seeing more populated severs. Only things I'd like to see are control replacing hazard zone. And a 1.25 thermal on the dm7, maybe even an auto mode like the bvs has. But I'd be happy with just a 1.25 thermal. Kinda excited about what Dice is gonna do in season 6. It might make some great content for us, creators! 💯

I don't care that much for BF2042 anymore and I don't think it can be saved and reworked to be like its predecessors, so doing something different like this might actually be good idea.

God I’ll be so disappointed if S6 is the launch of some spin off BF mode and not what we actually need. Features, maps, gadgets, maps, vehicles, urban maps, weapons, maps, etc. If they’ve wasted development resources on a BR before they’ve even made bipods work as well as previous titles I will seriously be confused.
I’m fine with a zombie/infected like mode if it’s just a limited time mode. We don’t need them to copy more of CoD
GOOD this game is great for them to just experiment gameplay I don’t mind. And I like it for Halloween. It’s fine temporarily game mode. I didn’t mind the Christmas game mode either. It was limited time.

We need a battlefield that makes sense tbh this one like every gun fight feels like RNG I can't wait to see what they do with Season 6. I played alot of it when it first came out but I haven't played like that ever since the game doesn't interest me like before. Maybe I need to find a group to play with not sure but it's very hard to have fun on a game that shit is always exploding and lagging

We played Hazard Zone a lot but, even though it was kinda trash before also, they managed to destroy it completly. So i dont trust those people anymore in any way. I just sit and wait.
It could be if they remove specialists of the game , reintroduce the class system , rework all the vehicles physics , rework soldier movements , rework the recoil system , change their artistic direction / voicelines included . (+ balance and patchs) Rework UX | UI design , add a server browser / a platoon were u can join differents clan and have social interaction trough the game menu before starting a game . Communicate about what their are working on behind the scene for 2042 , post some poll to have our feedback , show us a roadmap for the next year and focus on new content . This could be a starting point

Where does this story even come from? I just boot the game, play solo singleplayer, or solo "el alamein" or "battle of the bulge" have fun, and turn the console off afterwards.

Yes definitely. 2042 is hardly the same game it was since they took over. It needed to be completely redone from the game engine, but they polished a turd nicely and I'm enjoying playing 2042. Now we need content.

@cowmath77 because they'd be putting out a game that got them fans in the first place. Otherwise, it's not Battlefield. Since they got with Disney for battlefront, the devs got all woke and overly conscious of politics that have no bearing on making games fun ton play. We saw it with bf1 using the same game engine as battlefront, then bfv exposed the problems the team was having with a cohesive game experience. If you don't like it, don't buy it, etc... In my estimation, the devs (DICE, EA) had some toxic behavior on the side of politics and good ppl interested in making games, not politics, left. Now, there's a new team taking over, many from Battlefield 3 and 4, who are interested in making a good game
@cowmath77 I'm 38. I see you're not a big Trump guy. 😉 Bf4 released poorly too, but a year later it was and still is the best value in fps gaming, with its free content and hundreds of guns. The engine, the maps, etc was great as well. Bf1 was appealing to a lower common denominator, with simplified movement, weapon and vehicle mechanics. It lowered the skill ceiling a lot, and many people who became fans since Battlefield 2 in 2004, 5, loved bad company 1 and 2, bf3 and bf4 were a little thrown off by bf1 with its watered down game play. The level if immersion couldn't be matched though. Absolutely a great gaming experience overall, despite the mechanical shortcomings. BfV wasn't a great game because people didn't like girls in WW2 combat, it's because it wasn't that great. I think the movement and shooting mechanics were great, and honestly would have been great if used for a Battlefield 4 remaster, with its movement and firing mechanics. However, it was clear the dev team wasn't on the same page and it seemed like just when the content was getting good (Pacifica theater), they pulled the plug. I know a lot of staff left as well, I posit due to a few team members being difficult to work with or quota hires to get that Disney $$. The new team has been crushing it since taking the reigns on bf2042.

If alt right white nationalists was en vogue and they kept trying to impose the importance of walls at your border in the game about tanks and gunplay? I think that's exactly what happened. Politics disrupted Battlefield V (Battlefield Vagina if you will), and doomed the production of 2042. The new team took over and it shows they give a shit about making a good game.
Nah, just keep battlefield the game as is. No one wants a royal game. I hope they do make a separate game so they can see its not needed and sales are low
in all honesty i gave up and moved away from BF 2042 a long while back. i was a 'happy clapper' for BF 2042, backing the game and the devs through the early seasons, through all the mess and the through all the crap we were given but its like staying in an abusive relationship with this game. I will watch on the sidelines what season 6 and the future holds but i'm not holding my breath as i am well and truly burned by this game.
I encourage everyone to go back and play battlefield 1. Its still amazing and you feel like your are at war. Battlefield 5 is still great too
I have played from (end)bf4-bf5. I really didn’t like bf2042, so I probably won’t play the new bf experience. EA has messed to much with bf formula and it has lost it charms.

The "all hands on deck" marketing ploy is nothing new, in fact they used it for 2042, and what came out was a game where hovercrafts could climb walls and had no scoreboard, just to name a couple of the many middle fingers DICE raised us. Just putting this out there because the BF player base has a famously short memory and will preorder anything, even in the complete absence of actual gameplay trailers, as was the case with 2042. The vanishing minority who could see through the marketing smokescreen never preordered it based on that fact alone, all the rest got the deluxe edition or whatever it was. In fact I'm calling it right now: as soon as the next BF drops, people will suddenly start revising history and calling 2042 a great game, just as they are doing now with Battlefield V, a terrible game in its own right that at least had potential. 2042 never had any remotely redeeming quality, still doesn't and most probably never will. Already I'm seeing people saying "if they get this one wrong, the franchise is done for". Exactly what they were saying before 2042 dropped.
People that give any praise to this game even after 2 years are part of the problem of why EA and DICE continue to do the same BS game after game. You keep enabling them to do the same stuff, when will you all learn. Not to mention the graphics are horrid, I honestly think BF4 graphics were better than 2042. The No PATS was a dumb Idea for online, would have been better suited single player, not to mention China would wipe the floor with Russia. Specialist was lazy and is better suited for things like Apex and Overwatch. Plus, no destruction which has always been the foundation of BF since Bad Company. It's sad that Battle Bit a Minecraft looking BF had more of a Battlefield nostalgia. I'm all about these companies making money, but they would make a lot more if they actually made a good product and focus on the roots of what separated them from other shooters. I feel that EA has just become a company of copy and paste and are no longer innovated like they once were. The community wanted a newer version of BF3 AND 4 Combined with better graphics and a story that would tie together.

Where you found them maybe… I’ve never heard anything about that except for the fact that multiple studios are now working on the new Battlefield which will of course come with new experiences. And actually BF2042 already has an extraction mode as you know but Dice has never showed any interest in improving this experience. Hazard Zone basically failed at launch and after Season 1 Dice completely stop supporting it. It has only received a couple of updates mainly to fix bugs but it’s still a poor experience and Dice doesn’t care. It’s like developers don’t even know that mode exists… I don’t think this is Clickbait video but honestly you look quite confused as there is absolutely no evidence of what you are saying.
Well, thanks for the eloquent response. I have always liked speculating on what Battlefield may be up to. The point is this - I think there's more to Season 6 than meets the eye. Battlefield has teased a connected universe for a while, and there's obviously the question of when we'll start to see that come together and what it may look like. I feel like there is enough information out there to wonder if it's sooner rather than later. EA's promoting Season 6 in ways it hasn't with previous content. It's been two years since 2042's launch. EA says it's committed to building an interconnected Battlefield universe. Four studios are working on Battlefield projects. What we know about Season 6 narrative doesn't fit standard Battlefield gameplay. AI actually already play a big role in 2042 and EA has spent a lot developing that tech. They also just announced an in-house anti-cheat for 2042, which could come as part of a larger update. Dropping a new game experience out of the blue is in-line with Zampella's approach and previous experiences support this as a possibility. Am I reaching with all of this? Yes, absolutely. The point is to have fun imagining what might be in the works, that's all. - And they're not leaks, but rumors. Rumors pop up all the time, but these seem to be sticking around. JackFrags has long said he expects a Battle Royale-style mode, which may be one of the points of origin.
Ok, first thing I appreciate your reply. What you are saying makes sense of course but I can tell you that I’m a HZ player (got 500+ hours only on this mode because it is one of the last playable modes of this game in my opinion; there could be potential but they don’t care. Experience is really poor unfortunately) and I’m part of those 200 people in Europe (maybe less) who play the game every day. I can assure you that since the launch of this game, nobody ever touched HZ except for a couple or patches to fix some stuff. Like literally man, nobody at Dice has ever worked on this mode since the launch, never tested anything in order to make the new BF better or something, nothing. HZ is not even mentioned in their surveys so… thinking that they are developing a new experience FOR BF 2042 is something very very very unlikely. If you also consider that after more than 2 years some shooting mechanics (spread, recoil,…) are still broken, it’s easy to say that what they are doing now is gonna be part of the next title of the franchise and not of 2042. Now, in my opinion, the questions to make hypothesis are: - when is the new BF supposed to come out? - Will they launch a BF free to play mode after they stop making content for BF 2042 but before the release date of the next title? (very unlikely as nobody would buy the main title basically) I think that what Zampella is doing will be part of the next title and there is no chance we will see something new on this game, also this game doesn’t have many players in general and investing now more money on it… it wouldn’t be worth it. What DICE will try to do is to keep this game alive for the small amount of players who haven’t left the game yet by releasing a season every 3 months as usual, so we get our beautiful skins, charms and if we are lucky maybe a map and a couple of weapons. And if the new game will come out in 2025 I really wish them good luck with the player base.

It really isn't the brand new Battlefield it's dice once again falling short of their own ideas and copying cod once again they did this with the movement they did this with specialist and some could say they did this with the guns attachments dice has lost their way and now on the road to being nothing more the a horrible call of duty style of game. Battlefield has literally been nothing more than cod and apex reason being they are chasing the money but it failed and they are still pushing it. The game will make its money if you make a battlefield game that is modern taking the good from bfv and bf1 and bf4 get rid of the unlimited ammo for vehicles bring back supply station that are not in the spawn to stop the camping with vehicles. I wrote this game off back on season 2 playing less and less now I may play once a month. Is the game fun far from it it's boring and dull and I play just game with some friends as not much out at the moment we all can get on and play.

I don't care about all this.... What are the gonna do about the cheaters.. I only play hz zone in EU server there are view cheaters one of them is marunhutter I respect him because he kills and moves on.. No show of now text messages... But American server 50% the players they cheat and they act like they are not.... Im. Sorry I hv to add this..... Im talking about pc players
I literally don’t care about what ever story line 2042 says, bf3 to bf4 is the only story lines I follow, 2042 has no incentive it’s lazy writing and lackluster game
