    • Thank you for sharing your experience with us! Indeed, repairing a car after a significant chassis accident is a challenging task, and it may never fully regain its original factory condition. However, with skilled craftsmanship and dedication, it's possible to restore the vehicle's appearance and functionality to a considerable extent. Our team here takes pride in doing our best to repair and improve the damaged vehicles we receive, but we also understand the limitations of the process. Safety is always a paramount concern, and we ensure that any repaired car meets necessary safety standards before it is back on the road. We take every precaution to ensure the repaired car is as safe as possible, but you're right that it may not be exactly the same as when it left the factory. Thank you for your insight, and we appreciate your understanding of the complexities involved in car repairs. If you have any questions or need further information, please don't hesitate to ask. We value feedback from our audience and always aim to provide the best service possible.

  • True craftsmanship is wonderful to watch. Han is truly a master of his craft, along with his great team. When doing a repair like this, you do have to keep in mind that if you bend bent materials straight again, you will not regain the strength and quality of the original metal. You can see this in a small experiment if you bend a paper clip back and forth again and again: it breaks after a few times. Metal fatigue.

    @ronnie9187@ronnie91873 күн бұрын
    • You're absolutely right about metal fatigue and the importance of considering the structural integrity of repaired materials. When metal is bent or stressed beyond its elastic limit, it can lead to permanent deformation and a reduction in strength. This phenomenon, known as metal fatigue, can compromise the safety and durability of repaired components.

  • Well done. Here in Brazil, a repair of this magnitude is practically impossible. The prices of parts and labor are so high that insurance companies prefer to write the car off as a total loss and compensate the customer with the amount of the vehicle's list price.

    • In the United States, the determination of a total loss is made by each state's Jurisdiction. So once the cost to repair reaches and exceeds a threshold set by the state, it is legally to be determined a total loss. That's not to say it isn't repairable, but that it legally has to be given a salvage title for future use. The pay out on a totaled vehicle depends on market value of similar vehicles in pre-accident condition. Rarely a truly fair payout.

      @JerodM@JerodM7 ай бұрын
    • @@JerodM Here the total loss is reached when the repair value reaches 75% of the vehicle's market value. This target is established by mutual agreement between insurance companies. And finally, a curiosity: car insurance is not mandatory in Brazil. However, it is estimated that 70~80% of the Brazilian fleet is insured by owners.

    • @@harrygatto I also am a recently retired Auto body tech here in the US, yes if done properly BY A TRAINED PROFESSIONAL then this vehicle is completely safe. It's not that long ago I used to occasionally purchase the vehicle from the owner before the insurance "totaled" it , repairing the car and still have a clean title, documenting along the way for future buyer. FYI, as I'm sure you know, just because a car is totaled doesn't necessarily mean it's junk or shouldn't be repaired or have frame damage, (which can also be fixed or replaced if done properly) it just means it makes no sense to the insurance co. money wise, with high cost of parts and labor. I've fixed vehicles with way more damage than this one that wasn't totalled because it was basically new and worth a lot of money, but then see a car get totalled because it needs a new bumper and fender because it wasn't worth much, it's a crazy racket 🤡🥳

    @ASkran-zf4ol@ASkran-zf4ol9 ай бұрын
    • Вы правы, этот ролик действительно является восхвалением мастерства автомехаников. Ремонт подобных повреждений требует огромного опыта, умений и времени, и не многие мастера могут так качественно восстановить поврежденное авто. Стоимость работы может быть значительной, но для автолюбителей и коллекционеров, которым дорог их автомобиль, это может быть оправдано. Важно, чтобы ремонт был выполнен профессионально и безопасно, чтобы автомобиль мог снова безопасно передвигаться по дорогам.

      @xinxianshi@xinxianshi9 ай бұрын
    • Да, вы правы. Ремонт такого поврежденного автомобиля может быть очень дорогим, особенно если восстанавливать его до заводского состояния. Некоторые кузовные работы могут требовать больших трудозатрат, качественных запчастей и специализированного оборудования, что приводит к высоким затратам. Возможно, в некоторых случаях замена кузова новым может быть более экономически целесообразным решением, чем полный ремонт поврежденного кузова. Все зависит от стоимости работ и доступности запчастей.

While the external appearance of the restoration may be impressive, the structural integrity of the car, especially when the frame is compromised, can be a significant safety concern. It's crucial to understand that certain damages, especially those affecting the frame, can affect the overall strength and safety features designed by the manufacturer. Even with skilled restoration work, some aspects may not be fully restored to the original safety standards. Safety should always be a top priority in any vehicle.
