You ain’t wrong mate! Wife clipped gate post and scratched down side of car, nothing serious, or so I thought, maybe a bit of body work and paint. Car was still perfectly useable. They wanted to write it off!! Only four years old. Repaired it myself. £350 in paint and prep!! Like they could not be arsed to do their job!! Sprayed one door, the rest was PDR.

All due to high costs and inflation in the west! My girlfriends car was financially not viable for repairs, but when she got the day worth from the insurance, the insurance company put the car on auction for garages in eastern Europe, where they would still be economically OK to repair.

It is absolutely astonishing to me how many people commented on the quality of the repair with obviously no knowledge of collision repair, as this repair would not meet Nissan’s standards for collision repair. The plug welds were totally unacceptable for many reasons. No one can weld to an acceptable standard without the correct shade of welding lens. This repair falls far short of the standards in Europe or North America.
It's important to recognize the differences in standards and practices within the collision repair industry across different regions and manufacturers. What may be considered acceptable or standard practice in one area or by one manufacturer may not necessarily align with the expectations or requirements of another.
