  • Bored this morning flipping through KZhead videos before I go to work and just came across this episode which is friggin awesome and definitely had to like & sub! A long time ago I thought about trying to build a crazy Power Wheels car with a 50cc dirt bike engine but only got as far as building a complete steel frame to start with before I ran into some financial hiccups. I ended up selling the frame I made which was bomb proof & crazy overbuilt for what I was using it for. Anyways, this episode got me motivated again and I would definitely like to find that frame if it still exists and finish what I started so, we'll see what happens. Thanks for getting me motivated again, guys I'm super stoked about possibly continuing my build

  • You should have an adjustment on the tailstock that will take out the taper. In your case you'll need to move the tailstock toward the back of the lathe. Measure how much taper you have and divide by one them put an indicator at the end of the part and move the tailstock that many thousands and lock the tailstock back in place. The adjustments will be on the base of the tail stock and you'll have an allen head set screw on both sides and a locking set screw to lock the tailstock once it's been adjusted. You'll want to have the tailstock lightly tightened so it can move when you adjust the set screws. I'm sure you see how it works just by looking at it. Of course as you mentioned it's not a cure all since the lathe is pretty worn out. You can also rest a heavy piece of brass against the part from the backside which helps take out chatter and will help keep the part from pushing away from the tool. Oh and be sure to use an insert with at most a 1/64th radius.

    • Yeah, they got bad advice for their first electric attempt. The guy who was advising them posted about it in an EV conversion forum I'm in and got roasted hard, and a while later GHPC called off the project, which was sad. The motor they're using is super popular right now, and it looks like they had someone professionally build the battery for them. I'm glad to see good EV conversion representation, as are my EVersion friends.

  • Probably been mentioned in the comments already, but get whats called a moving steady for your lathe for turning long shafts. It fits on the dovetails of the sliding bed and has rollers or bronze tips that rest on the shaft directly opposite the cutting tool. It moves along with the tool post as you cut and keeps the shaft true and stops it flexing when you push the cutter against it. A must have to turn shafts accurately, even on an old lathe it will be a lot easier and way more accurate.

  • This is amazingly ingenious work! Absolutely brilliant ingenuity! I enjoy watching when the build is being tested, first. I then go back and watch the How To Build Your Own video, that you're kind enough to share with everyone.. If KNOWLEDGE is power. Then KNOWLEDGE and the GUTS to actually do something with it and then see it come to fruition, gives a real CLARITY. When you see something's POTENIAL, then you can see things for what they really are. How we are only LIMITED because we chose to live inside of a box of our own creation. You don't live in it or even think outside of it. You simply say...WHAT BOX! Keep up the amazing work and thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. If everyone freely shared they're knowledge, then everyone would then hold the power to NOT hold DOMINION over ANYONE. ''History is written by the one's who share they're knowledge, those who don't, are the TYRANTS they write about''.

  • Dude ...... Seriously? I've seen some cool videos on your channel, but this one just earned a subscriber!! This has to be one of the most unique ideas for a custom build/ingenuity driven unique creation video that I've seen yet! EDIT: but please for the love of everything that we hold dear. Nobody let your kid drive one of these 🤣 EDIT 2: thanks to KZhead Now men are able to make a living doing things they wish they could do when they were kids!

  • Well done gents. This is a fun video. I have a friend who is 42" tall. Hes has an extremely rare form of dwarfism where he is proportionate in every way. He needs custom everything. I dont have a shop but im handy with tools and fabrication. I would LOVE to attempt a build like this. It would change his life at a fraction of the cost.

  • Super cool. Reminds me of when I hooked up the EGO 56v battery to my sons mini monster 6v electric truck. Thing was super fast. Only part is it didn’t last long. Eventually the motor to the wheels burnt up but it was fun while it lasted. The smile on my sons face was priceless.

    • I used 20v power tool batteries, good middle ground of not killing the motors and having plenty of juice for riding around in grass at reasonable pace. I installed a cooling fan under the seat for longer run time. My kid loved it and could ride for over an hour non stop without issue, the battery barely even had a dent in charge status.

  • I wish you guys could help me fix my motorcycle so I could go back to work and take care of my wife and kids. I'm just not mechanically inclined enough to figure out exactly what is wrong with the thing. I have no other vehicle, and nobody wants to give me anything for it. I just wish I could get a vehicle running so I can work again... Christmas is going to suck for the kids this year as it is already... anyways, I love your content. keep up the amazing work. I love seeing what y'all will come up with.
