Love this type of engineering shenanigans. It's creative and fun. Plus, the neighbor was super cool! I would love to see a big turbo there and longer gearing.
PLEASE continue this project and fix the gearing! also get some slightly larger tires to fix that aspect of it, you can probably get rear tires down to an inch or half an inch apart from each other without a problem cause you don't have suspension to worry about
but remember the ballooning of the tires at high speed! lol
@@JokerInk-CustomBuildsdepending on the tire compound they use even with flexible slicks it would still take a ton of rpm at the wheels to Ballon them I can't really do the math atm.

@@zaganairsoftandgaming6900 True... but if you place the wheels half inch apart the'yll only have to balloon a quarter inch each... and if they change the gearing this thing will be even faster... I can't do the math... i have just been building stuff for decades and my brain tells me to keep atleast two inches between them.... just to be on the safe side....🤗

It's amazing watching Ethan just be a master of his craft, he's experienced everything and knows beforehand. Then there's the polar opposite, with Will.
yeah he scares me ,especially when he builds something with no crash bars or roll cage protection ,and he is on the rev limiter constantly and has really no road sense ,he is going to end up going thru that cart and coming out in hundreds of little cubes ,,they will be picking up bits of him for weeks lol ,,,,truly scary to watch ,,,just praying its going to break down allot lol

No. He's more like the annoying first year apprentice who breaks all the tools, does a shit job, talks more than he works, thinks he's cool for not wearing PPE, then you have to go back and re-do all his work because he's screwed up.

I'm not sure what I expected but I was confused for a second when they started putting the engine in after only spraying the primer and then I realized it was "shopping cart grey" and that's the intended look
The mufflers definitely gave it that Mario Kart vibe!
Vaseline also makes a great masking choice when painting oddly shaped objects on the cheap and dirty side of things. Just be sure when you are solvent washing, you dont drag any onto the part getting painted.

In 1973 my friends and I built a cart using a Bridgestone 350 fuel injected motor cycle engine and had a blast with it until we trashed the frame because of torque. Hats off to ya!!!!

You should put a fire wall flap in place of the cart flap, where you took the engine in and out.

love this build, the back of it looks like something out of a post-apocalyptic video game!
Try a recluse clutch to help prevent stalling and put a larger drive sprocket + smaller sprockets for the axles. Also try to find a slightly taller wheel and tire set up. Might make it to where you won't need anything after 4th cause you'll be doing 120+ but it'll really keep it off the limiter + you'll be able to really hear the gears ring out!
Yeah the fact that he was red lining it instantly after shifting out of second he had hit the limits of the drive sprocket. Larger rear tires with a harder compound so they don't deform with the increased speed is going to be a must. The ones he has on now are likely good for what it's pulling now but they'll start bowing heavily with a bit more speed.

i think the original headers that came with the bike will improve performance. It needs a 4 into 1 equal length header to function correctly. That's why the engine breaks up under acceleration.

I think you should keep this one going more. id love to see this re geared . Fix the cooling issue. It has a lot more potential left in it. It's almost there.

that lady was so cool and had such a great attitude.
Use playing cards to go around the rim of the wheel, depressurize the tire, slide playing cards in and you’re golden. Also newspaper is a great and cheap way to prevent paint from getting on the tire You can also cut a hole the size of the tire, into a piece of cardboard and set it on the wheel to keep paint off the tire
I think it was pushing through the clutch. Really sounds that way😮

Reminds me of when my friend and his engineer father built a go-kart from scratch. They then dropped a motor from Yamaha r1 in it. I was the one that had the balls to go the fastest. I think I hit about 160 on interstate i-84 in CT. I'll say one thing that's state trooper really tried to catch me. He failed miserably just as his other co-workers did for the next 3 months. 😂

As fast as that goes I would def put a hoop roll bar just in case but make it look like the push bar handle of the grocery cart lol but also when shifting I personally would power shift it and you would see a diff in acceleration quickness but anyways great vid and well done on the go kart

I like watching the band of socially awkward mechanics do crazy unique builds just like you would when you were a teenager 👍 oh and I would agree with the other commenter about adding a hoop to protect you head and neck if something happens at speed because there would be no greater regret than burying a friend over not installing a roll over bar.

Just a heads up guys.....banging it off the rev limiter under no load is a very good way to get ventilated blocks. Max revs with no load is super hard on the engine internals, and makes engine builders cringe in sympathy

To feel the pull, shift 1, 3, 5 and skip 2 and 4. Might be pretty amazing with that much power on tap. Serious guts to ride that cart!
Bike mechanic here. The gears are short yes, but that clutch is slipping like crazy. That's why it's not going as it should. Replace the friction plates and makes sure steel plates are straight and then scuff them with some sandpaper. Also, use motorcycle specific or diesel oil. Friction modifiers on regular car oil makes wet clutches slip. I recommend Castrol Actevo or Fuchs Diesel oil.
