To see if Notre Dame was better than Clemson or vice versa. There was no way to tell who was better between Clemson, ND, OSU, or Georgia. Notre Dame was very well deserving of being in the playoff. They were just not the better team. It’s easy to say that now that the games over.
Everyone knew UGA is better than Notre Dame, UGA played Bama better than any other team this season, that alone makes them better. Also Ohio State played both Michigan and Northwestern and beat both teams by a wider margin. Something Notre Dame couldn't do.

To all these people complaining about Notre Dame saying they don't belong and either Georgia, or UCF should have been in. Well first off Notre Dame was Undefeated. Second off, Georgia had two loses. Third Georgia lost their bowl game which equals three loses. They couldn't even beat Texas the same Texas team Oklahoma beat. Now lets talk UCF! UCF lost to the same LSU team Notre Dame beat last year in the Citrus Bowl! Plus LSU was without most of their star players against UCF, the same star players that lost to Notre Dame last year! Clemson is just a really great team. Also the game was really close up until half time. Notre Dame's all american defensive back Julian Love got injured and Clemson took advantage. Notre Dame needed to play close to a flawless game and it was the other way around. Clemson got all the luck and they got all the calls! Notre Dame should have gotten that fumble on the kickoff and we are talking a different game. It would and should have been closer, but Clemson is that good! So yes Notre Dame did belong, but yes Clemson was the better team!

It is a fact that Notre Dame had a much better defense then UCF. Clemson would of put up prolly about 50 or more points on UCF. At least over 45. Notre Dame actually held Clemson to one of it's lowest scoring totals of the season. Clemson was just averaging about 45 points a game and that is combined with their early games without Trevor Lawrence. Once Lawrence got the start and things got clicking for Clemson on offense they were a machine on offense and we all know how dominate their defense is. I honestly think arguably This years Alabama and Clemson teams are top 5 if not top 10 teams of all times in college football! That is how good these two teams are right now! And there were some pretty darn good teams throughout the ages. I honestly think Clemson beats Alabama as well for the National Championship, but hey that is just my opinion!
