This week at the château, we wake up to the first snow, with beautiful views all around. As much work can not be done outside, we start on some of the jobs on the interiors on the buildings.
As the buildings have been left for so long, a number of different parasites have started to take over which must be treated before any other work can start.
And If you would like to join us on our family journey restoring this once abandoned château, then please just follow the link below, 🥰

About us.
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.
Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

  • Thank you for offering this unfairly forgotten old beautiful lady a second youth. Thank you for giving France patrimony a proudness that we French aren't able to give it. Thank you to all the members of your wonderful family.

  • And I’m playing catch-up right now on a years worth of videos. I am not going to cheat and look ahead, so I’m looking forward to seeing you empty out those huge shipping containers. Your nephew Jonathan is just so sweet.

  • People forget all the boring stuff that has to be done before you can start doing the visible, usual work of renovating a chateau, but that is often what takes the time.

  • Excellent drone shots of the snow! I can imagine how cold it must be working in this weather, but the good news is that spring is just around the corner!

  • Whenever I hear someone talking about wood worms, it reminds me of something I heard Sean (on the Pethericks, I think) say. They were treating the wood that had been almost destroyed by the worms, and his comment was something to the effect of, “The only thing holding this wood together is the wood worms holding hands”.

  • Lovely drone shots. The snow covered trees are beautiful. The walk in the woods with all the snow would have been peaceful, relaxing and quiet. The chandelier is going to look stunning once it gets installed. What a great day that will be.
