Russian deputy defence minister charged with ‘particularly large scale’ corruption

The Ukrainian city of Mariupol was the scene of a bitter siege until finally Russia took control of what was left of its destroyed buildings.
(Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
Now the Russian minister tasked with overseeing the reconstruction of the city has ended up in court. Deputy Defence Minister Timur Ivanov has been accused by the Russian authorities of corruption. But is that really why Moscow has moved against him?

  • His boss (Shoigu) has two mansions in Moscow, one for his wife and family, one for his mistress and her children, neither of which he can afford on his declared income, but he got away with just the cold shoulder from Putin for a few weeks for that. I’ve heard that Ivanov was hacked by the Ukrainian Security Services, who used his Ministry access to turn the Russian Military inside-out and that’s recently been discovered. This is his punishment for being incompetent at his job, an incompetence that’s borderline treasonous. Everyone in the Russian hierarchy is vulnerable to these corruption charges if they make a mess of their main role 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • Well exactly, so there must be another reason…this is the reports implication, but it doesn’t have enough double confirmation of evidence to positively assert what that is. That Putin want Shoigu to hurry up and reach the Donetsk borders by 9th May? That Ivanov has been disloyal in some way or plotting against Putin? That Ivanov had been hacked by the Ukrainian Security Services and this compromised everything the Russians did in Ukraine for an unspecified time period, including targeted assassinations of command staff, an incompetence bordering on treason? Take your pick.

That way they can prolong the war and little to no costs. According to the Sheffield School of Aeronautics, the United States Military keeps approximately 3,400 assets classified as fighter/attack in operation by the Air Force and the Navy. Those include the hits like F-35s(2016), F-35As(2019), F-16s(1978), and A-10s(1977) since F-16s aren't exactly ideal for other tasks like carrying other planes or large equipment. Different planes are better at different things. That's why the U.S. Military holds more than 14,000 aircraft in its inventory, as reported by the 10-year Aircraft Investment Plan issued by the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense.
