    • And they wonder why, atleast the British expect to be in the crosshairs if they interfered, Americans don't even contemplate that a foreign nation might defend itself. Russia and America share a common interest, in my opinion America should recognize the Crimea as Russian in exchange for Russian recognition of Taiwan as an independent sovereign state. China is a direct threat to both Russia and America. Democracy is a frivolity by comparison to survival. America needs close alliances with powerful allies against China. Russia and America need to put aside their differences and cull the growth of China. Putin is an intelligent man, trump missed an opportunity (or was forced to miss it over the Russian meddling election bullshit(every country does that to every other)), America shouldn't meddle in others home policy only genocide can justify that. The red white and blues should be United against their common enemies. This naive idea of spreading democracy while may be well intentioned has unwelcome consequences, China has the potential to upstage all of Europe and north America if we don't cooperate.

    • @Daniel Vitale insult them all you want, America of 2020 is not as strong as America 1950, and America will need Russia on side if only for geographical reasons and not only that. China is where America was in the late 1800s, is America going to let the Chinese communist party control the way the world economy works? If America wants to be of any importance in a hundred years it needs to be proactive and get any ally it can and isolate them from China. It could very easily be the USA in the same situation Russia is now in 60 years. Putin remains popular because he has improved Russia since he took power. Remember poor leadership is better than no leadership and better still is good leadership. America has had good leadership in trump and Reagan but thats about it in the last 40 years. Russia had poor leadership until Putin who is probably their best leader since Catherine the great. By the way, remember the USA was less of a democracy than Russia is now not very long ago. Democracy is like smoke, the wind can carry it away surprisingly quickly. The USA needs to drop its delusional follies of expanding democracy (failing at it as well), and concentrate on its long term survival from the expansionism and mass industrialisation in China.

      @theant9821@theant98213 жыл бұрын
    • @@cbo9090 no its not, it may have more at its disposal but, but so does its main rivals, in 1950, it had firm control of the worlds economy and industry, 70 percent of the worlds manufactured goods were made in the USA in the decade following ww2, its main rivals (Britain, France and Russia) lay in ruin and bankrupt with decades of war debt to the USA too. In 1950 America had an almost free hand in controlling foreign policy of its allies because they all relied upon the USA for their own economic integrity, they rely upon the USA still but to a far smaller extent as the rest of the world has got wealthier by comparison to the USA since ww2. The power of the USA is a lot weaker now than 60 or 70 years ago. There are viable alternatives to the USA starting to appear on the horizon, like India, China is already well over the horizon and the USA owes China money, buys most of its manufactured goods from China too, China is getting more powerful with every single exported product they sell, and America is getting weaker with every single Chinese import they buy. Americans may own Chinese factories but that just allows businesses to make profits from the American people while the steady flow of money from America to china continues. America needs to be proactive and split the growth between China and India to establish a status quo and keep itself on top. As Britain supported the second most powerful European country against the most powerful, to maintain its superiority over all of Europe, the USA must do the same in aisa. Cheap labour in aisa is crippling the American hegemony. At this rate in 25 years there wont be an American hegemony and so America will have to cut back its defense spending and much else too. While China will begin to establish a hegemony of its own and begin to replace the USA as the leading economy and military power. America let Britain foot the bill for the leading military until ww2 when Britain could nolonger afford it, then America took Britains place, China is obviously waiting to do the same trick to America, waiting until America can't afford to compete with them anymore.

    • People keep referencing the phone call while clearly never having actually listened to all of it or understanding the context. There's no way to frame it as some kind of "America hand-picking the winners of the election" when you actually listen to it. It's very obviously a conversation about who they wanted to win, and them already being the favourites to do so. And the best evidence of this is the fact that the people who they wanted to win ended up not getting power, and some of the people they didn't like ended up winning elections.

If he was struggling to spell the word “illegitimate” it would correct that, but not the article he’d already typed in front of it. This was a simple email. Even a dedicated word processing program with a grammar check will only flag suspected grammar issues (if that option is turned on). And then you have to go to each flagged word/segment and manually approve the suggested grammar. In 30+ years of writing thousands of emails and reports, I've never seen articles automatically corrected because of typos that came after them. I even tried to replicate this in three different programs tonight and couldn't make it happen. The most it did was in Apple Pages where it autocorrected the incorrect spelling of "legitimate" and "illegitimate" but only underlined the incorrect article. Hope that makes sense.

    • @Deja Vu My brain works perfectly fine. Google is not the answer to all things. When you say "ALL WARS", you make it sound like we were around in 1453 when Sultan Mehmed II of the Ottoman Empire took down Constantinople and Constantine XI, the last of the 'Roman Empire', which were then called the Vicentine Empire. Since we were "involved in all wars", how in hell we fought that war when we were officially 'discovered" in 1492? Did the real Americans (the indigenous) fought that war? Anyway, I prefer books with real accounts of history over the Google excerpts. You should try those instead.
