Any believers were sent to the Gulag. Imperial Russia was Russian Orthodox. Putin is a Soviet agent, yet he LIES & DECEIVES his own people by pretending to be Christian, going into the Cathedral, lighting a candle with a sickening fake innocent & devout expression on his face, & kissing the Bible. You call this "patriotism"? He's an atheist, liar, mass murderer, deceiver, cheat, author of torture & barbarity, (Bucha),& responsible for the utter misery of thousands of his own people. as well as Ukrainians. Some "patriot"!!! But he's obviously fooled you. Clever him.

    • Your comment is also inaccurate. Crimea is predominately Russian, yes, but Eastern Ukraine (Donbas) is not. Ethnic Ukrainians constitute (or at least they did before 2014 war) around 60% of Donbas citizens, while ethnic Russians are around 40%. Eastern Ukraine is mostly Russian speaking, due to historical reasons, but that is not the same as ethnically Russian. Another thing is, that while majority of people in Crimea (and many in Donbas) may very well be pro-Russian, it doesn't change the fact, that people responsible for 2014 referendum and organising coups in Donetsk and Luhansk were Russian soldiers and FSB agents sent from Moscow, not locals.

He said the Ukrainian government had possession of Russian Buk surface-to-air missiles, and suggested the country "was playing with its new toys and made a big mistake." "Cohen said the US was complicit in creating the crisis in Ukraine due to its support for the overthrow of President Viktor Yanukovych" "When former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych fled the country following the 2014 Maidan revolution, Ukrainian citizens who stormed his Mezhyhirya mansion discovered a palace of cartoonish opulence with guilded bathrooms, a private zoo, and a floating restaurant in the shape of a pirate ship. A good illustration of this extravagance is the $11 million he allegedly paid for a chandelier and his seven tablecloths worth a staggering $13,000." [transparency dot eu] Professor Stephen Cohen. • Suprising that there was no mention whatsoever of the pillaging of Russia in the 90's by western economic interests held in name only by local "oligarchs". Putin dismantled this outside structure, and replaced it with that of his own. In order to do this he had to methodically, carefully, and without question brutally consolidate power in the early 2000's. I suppose he considers it a victory that at least native Russians he personally favors (that in turn support him politically) are running the country, rather than outside interests. If you look into what I mentioned above, then you'll have a much clearer picture of who Putin is and what modern Russia seeks to achieve.

THE INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT THROUGH FEAR OF AMERICA OR AN ALLIE, OR THROUGH CORUPTION LET AMERICA OFF WITH NO CHARGE, UNFORGIVABLE!!. THIS FREE REIN , GAVE AMERICA THE COURAGE TO CONTINUE IN THAT VEIN, WHILE WARMONGERING and PROPOGANDA AGAINST HONEST COUNTRIES IE RUSSIA. TRUE ! THEY ARE TRYING TO BE RELEVANT WHILE AMERICAN SOCIETY IS "BROKEN" THIS IS ONLY A MIGHTY SHORT SYNOPSIS OF AMERICAN CORRUPTION IN THE WHOLE WORLD .

Putin is one of the best leader the world has ever had. The global majority will be forever grateful to this legend. May God bless him.
