Any game where all three players have 5-digit scores is a competitive one. This game have all 3 over the $15,000 mark, which is crazy.
Fantastic wagers. The way the game should be played.
I was thinking Boutros Boutros-Ghali, and couldn't remember what country he was from :)
Same here. I thought he was from South Africa.......he is from Egypt 😕
@@mutigerinkysame, i went for south africa for the exact same reason 😂
I was thinking Kofi Annan and Ghana, but Ghana is not quite in the Southern Hemisphere. Move, Ghana, move!
yes!
Now I'm picturing a UN resolution to move Ghana.
Knew it was a South American country, only I thought it was Argentina
I couldn't think of any Secretary Generals except for Dag Hammarskjöld, and I already knew THAT was wrong.
I had to watch this because Double Jeopardy was interrupted by a severe weather coverage on my station due to a tornado warning in Northwest Ohio. So, I missed most of the episode. Thank goodness I live in Northeast Ohio! Though we did have a severe thunderstorm warning overnight.
My guess for this Final Jeopardy Clue would have been 1 of the following 3. 1: Peru 2: Kofi Annan 3: Boutros Boutros-Ghali
Hey Jeopardy, Can you post the March 15, 2024 show’s category “Food & Drink” to your channel here pretty please? I want to watch that whole category and answers of the mouthwatering food & drinks. Thanks J! and I ♥️ your show!! -Derek A. Brouillard
It’s all about who finds the Daily Double first on Double Jeopardy at this point. They’re all so good!
Dang, I had Myanmar, but I realized the UN had two Asian Secretaries-General (the other being South Korea's Ban Ki-Moon, who I personally met on a flight several years ago when he was still new).
Now, I’m nervous, but anything can happen in Game 4.
Congratulations yogesh on winning the first game on the jeopardy toc
Each with a win. This is still a best-of-nine, I believe, as the Finals continue on.
Best of 7*
This is going to be interesting! 😉
What about Michelle Bachelet, from Chile?
first thought it is "the continent where the UN is located" and went with south korea
Total fail here... I somehow read the clue wrong and thought that i was supposed to guess the continent instead of the country (which I knew anyway). It's been one of those days. 😒
Wow I did NOT get this one. And they all got it no problem and bet big. I absolutely would have guessed Argentina or Australia. Who even are the contestants on this show, they're so good
I got this Final Jeopardy! clue right.
That clue was poorly worded. The planet has 4 hemispheres. And yes the U.N. secretariat building is in NY but it's by definition a world body with assets all over the planet.
The planet has four Hemispheres, but three of them have had multiple Sec Gens. So once you figure that out, you just need to remember which country he was from
I agree. I was frozen like a deer in headlights trying to figure out what they were asking for. Instead, "is unique to its hemisphere" would be clearer.
Seriously. Very poorly worded, making it seem like the "it" in "it's" refers to the the UN, not the country of the Sec. General.
I liked the clue, but I thought it was a little too easy for ToC Final.

Good question.
Unfortunately, too late!😢 Some person just HAD to revealed it!
Only one from southern AND western hemispheres, right?
Not quite; Kofi Annan was from Ghana, which is *just* barely in the Western Hemisphere
No, Portugal is in the Western hemisphere, and I believe Ghana crosses the Prime Meridian
@@thomasrockhoffWho was from Portugal?
Is the UN in the southern hemisphere? I thought it was in New York.
The location of the un campus has nothing to do with the question
@@Vex-MTG Oh! It means, "This nation is the only one of the ones that produced UN Secretaries-General in its hemisphere." The "It" refers to "This nation." I still think it's a badly written clue. It's saying that Peru is the only nation in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Divided Nations.
Also the only one from the WESTERN hemisphere
What about Kofi Annan from Ghana? Ghana gets cut through if we're talking Prime Meridian as the official dividing line of Eastern and Western Hemispheres, so that's a toss-up in my book.
Portugal is in the western hemisphere
I know they let the contestants start to phrase their response during the break so they don’t forget to write it as a question… but letting that last one stand is very dubious
Spoiler below: This has been a crazy finals so far, regardless of who you’re rooting for. Everyone has proved that they can come back and get the win.
In my memory Boutros Boutros Ghali was from South Africa but he was Egyptian. A little before my time and the UN is so irrelevant on the world stage anyways I doubt most people even know the *current* secretary general
What does a a U.N. secretary do, anyway? Is that one of those no-work jobs for your crony?
Did anybody else notice that the only person on the Alex Trebek Stage who uttered an incorrect statement was ... Ken Jennings. The clue said, "the only Secretary General from its hemisphere," meaning that of New York City, where the UN is headquartered. While the contestants (and yours truly) correctly deduced that the clue referred to the Western Hemisphere (where NYC is), in explaining the correct response, Ken incorrectly referred to the Southern Hemisphere. While Peru is indeed in the Southern Hemisphere, New York City is not. Oops, well, even the best make mistakes.
I think "its" refers to the nation and not to the UN.
I think the clue was confusing. I also momentarily thought they meant the hemisphere in which the UN is headquartered.
Depending on how you define "Western Hemisphere", you could possibly have as many as four Secretary-Generals from countries in the Western Hemisphere. If you consider it to be every country that lies at least partially west of the Prime Meridian and east of the 180th Meridian, there are actually four: 1. the UK - Gladwyn Jebb 2, Ghana - Kofi Annan 3. Portugal - António Guterres 4. Peru - Javier Pérez de Cuéllar You have to consider the Western Hemisphere to be from west of 20 deg W to east of 160 deg E to only have one Secretary-General included. The there is only one country in the Southern Hemisphere, with no confusion how the Southern Hemisphere is defined, that produced a Secretary-General.
Yeah, I found this clue strangely worded too.
@@rex-racer What else could it mean? Every country is in the hemisphere it's in!
If you didn't give that kid credit for his misspelling of Emancipation Proclaimation (despite saying constantly that spelling doesn't matter), you sure as heck shouldn't give this guy credit for the grammatically laughable "WHERE PERU".
Peru that correct, great game 🎉

It seems KZhead has changed how comments display (at least on the iPad app that I’m watching on), so most-liked comments don’t necessarily go to the top anymore, and the comment box immediately below the video now rotates through several comments instead of just showing the top one.
