03:50 Cubs Calling For Mom (No Narration)
On one our the cubs enrichment walks with their mom Abi, in the game reserve next door to the cheetah breeding and rewilding project, Abi, Kimi and Kayzer lost track of each other. As a young inexperienced cubs, at about 6 months old, you can get lost out there in this BIG BIG world easily. Abi wanted out of the direct sun and waltzed over to lay down in the shade of a tree not far away. The cubs didn't notice her leaving and felt a terrible sense of loss when they realized she Mom was gone...
Cheetahs chirp like birds to call to each other. Adults and cubs alike. The current accepted theory is they do this to confuse larger predators that would kill them. A large lion, hyena or leopard is not going to waste time looking to hunt a small bird and so ignores the sound the cheetahs make. But, predators are smart and it they ever learn that sound is a cheetah, then their cover is blown. Time to use that superior speed to avoid capture and death. Cheetah cubs that reach 6 months old can our run any predator or prey that would kill them.
This was recorded at www.runningwildconservation.org. I've asked for a video biography of my cubs as I cannot be there very often and and they graciously record the moments I miss and thank them for it.
Thanks for watching!

Abi's cubs, Kimi and Kayzer, lost track of mom on one of their enrichment walks in the game reserve next door. It's sad, funny and interesting all in one. They call for her with 'bird chirps' cheetahs make, and she doesn't come so they go looking for her and find her under a tree escaping the sun on this summers day there. I've experienced that sense of loss too when I was a child and certainly empathize with the concerns the cubs must feel. Imagine the rest of wild animals out there that do lose a parent, friend or family and never get reunited. I have empathy for them. But, I'm glad we can help Abi and her cubs nurture their way through life as secure as possible at this cheetah breeding and rewilding project.

@@CheetahWhisperer Very clever!
@@CheetahWhisperer - Nice work! You did that perfectly!
@@thetooginator153 Thx so much!
What an intelligent way to avoid signaling themselves to predators ! They really sound like birds... Much love from France :))
So cool! Huh! The adults make the same calls to each other to 'hide'.
I've always wondered why some cubs like Snow Leopards make that high pitched bird like chirps, so thanks for telling us :)
Welcome and thx for watching.
That's the cutest squeak I ever heard! I hope mama comes back! I never heard cheetah kitten squeaks before, that's a perfect decoy. thank you! My cat still aqueaks too, he never learned how to meow. That's how I got him, mom wandered off and put 3 kittens under a car but left the runt to fend for himself. He stumbled up to me squeaking in the ROAD with his eyes glud shut with pus so I had to take him home. At least 1 other kitten survived, lives at the other end of the block. He was only 3 weeks old and I bottle fed him.
Thank for the watch and you comment.
They are so beautiful it's hard to believe
I know...
Those lines under their eyes makes them beautiful and unique
@@morningwaitss49 Yuppers... its to absorb the suns rays so they can hunt better in daylight.
I love Cheetah chirps!! ❤ Cheetahs are such gorgeous cats! You can feel the sense of relief when they spot mom! Thank you for sharing!! ❤👍🐆😁❤

Cheetahs are the most beautiful animals in the planet 😍🐯
Such a wonderful cat.
This video was so interesting, fascinating and heartwarming. It was so beautifully shot, too. Your videos are always so wonderful. Thank you so much for sharing with us. Such an absolute treat.
Thx for being a fan...
I didn't know cheetahs chirped! They're even more adorable.🥰
They are SO CUTE!
That's the reason they're not classed as big cats as a big cat is defined by it's ability to roar. They don't chirp the same as adults but they still can't roar
This video had me in tears!
I just realized these cubs sound _exactly_ like the one baby chicken in the yard that gets separation anxiety when it can't find its mother. I'll just pretend it's a cheetah cub from now on.
Wow...
🥰🥰🥰
:)
Awesome video as always
Thanks again!
ty for the last clip without narration!
I figured it! For those who of you.
Adding the voiceover to make the situation more relatable... Not sure I'm a fan of it personally, but I commend you for trying something different - It shows courage and ingenuity and that's never a bad thing! I think most of your coalition are happy with raw footage and your narration - we're here for the Blur Furs 😅 Enough criticism. It's great to see Abi and the kids doing so well (how they've grown!). Can't blame Abi for disappearing, it's nice to escape the chaos of children for a little while, put your feet up, watch a little CatTV... 😂 Keep up the fine work. This world needs people like you to help keep these magnificent creatures around for future generations.
Elon Musked it... this time.
awe so over the moon they are back with mom made me tear up epic video thanks so very much
So glad your back! great video love my cheetah 🐆 babes!Yes i’ve lost my parents and husband it’s horrible hands down.

Aww i feel bad for them
I did too. But they found mom and ended in a happy reunion.
I adore all cats, but the cheetah is my favorite animal on the planet. I watch a lot of videos about them and I rly like your channel. Continue to delight us with such filming, I wish u and the cheetahs all the best! Much love from Russia :)
This is a pretty clever ability because if something hears a baby cheetah its just gonna think its hearing birds
Exactly! Even the adults make this sound too but not as sharp as the cubs babies. Thx for watching.

The poor little babies they are just like toddlers lol!
Yeah. In a HUGE wild world.
I know they don't really understand our language, but please let Abi know that she is beautiful, and so are her babies. I would tell them myself if I could.
I know. She likes people, most of them, and loves attention and her cubs. Still with them at 1.2 yrs old now.
@@CheetahWhisperer I wonder what goes through a lion’s brain whenever he kills a cheetah and decides not to eat. “He kind of looks like me” or smth

😂 what they really sound like birds !!! I thought is was a joke !! xD
Hahah... Nature is stranger than fiction.
My daughter wouldn't panic; I'm the one who would 😂
Yeah... I've sensed this feeling of loss as a child. Scary 😨.
Haha it would be so amazing if cheetahs talked like this in real life 🤣 Wonderful creatures
I know! Only in the animated movies.
👍👍👍❤❤❤
:)
That was cute, and educational. Thanks. Yup, been there, done that. 40 yrs ago, after a long flight from Europe to the Kennedy airport, I was afraid my 5 yr old daughter was taken. I had a nursing baby in my arms and I fell asleep. We looked everywhere, and finally I saw her sitting at the big window, watching the airplanes. She'd asked me if she could, and in my drowsiness I said she could. Whew. Even now, I continue to tell my girls never to let them out of their sights.
It's SCARY for both. Both Abi and the cubs look for and call to each other.
@@CheetahWhisperer - Oh that's interesting, too, that they call for each other. I guess at times, human kids will also do the same with each other. I enjoy watching the videos, since I can't be there personally to interact with them. :)
@@annwithaplan9766 Yep. Just like us human parents and children. Want to know where each other are always. Thx for watching!
Well what happens if the nearby predator likes to hunt for birds😂?
Then the cubs can chase it because only the tiniest of predators chase after them.
domestic cats imitate bird noises to attract prey
I imitate a potato to turn off carnivores.
@@ShayShayPlay I've seen that. Not too many cats do it. They 'chatter' their lips and teeth. I made one cat do it by imitating the sound. But these cheetahs chase house cats too... They chase the tamed ones at the project when they come into their enclosures. Not sure if they'd kill them or not. I doubt it because the house cats would try and defend themselves and that is all that's need to cast doubt in a cheetahs confidence.
Nice
Thanks
👉 The Look-Dick-See-Spot-Run story telling is more like silly glumph I'd expect to hear on TikTok. Personally, I'd rather hear YOUR factual narration. 😊
I mix things up... That is just my personality... next time perhaps. But skip to 03:50 for the cubs chirping in the wilderness.
👍
Thx for liking...
I would rather have the video without the edited audio
Yeah some do... so I added the clip without the editing at the end...
Great video, it would be a lot nicer if it was documented without the commentary.
At the very end...
I thought it was awesome. It made it human the
Seems like someone found a voice generation tool to play around with 😅 Oh man, they've grown but they're still "cute as a kitten". ❤ I'm wondering, is there birds in Africa that sound exactly like cheetah chirps? and if so, how would a cheetah mum keep them apart?
Ha... yup and what fun. Audio.AI but it's Beta for now. I'm sure there is a bird that sounds like these cheetahs. Ice heard one of the birds in South African that also sounds like a cheetahs cackle they make when mating. Cheetah moms have to leave her cubs behind to hunt and drink up till about 3 months old when the cubs can walk better and keep up with moms roaming.
Can cheetahs grow bigger than like they usually are like a human growing 8 foot tall or something like that?
Some do. Up to 150lbs. Average is 80 to 120. I want one of the extinct GIANT European cheetahs which reached 250lbs and twice as large and loud purrs.
@@CheetahWhisperer thanks for the answer!!
How old do cheetahs mature
About 2 years. I like the 1 to 2 yrs because they play and run fast and still very babyish and affectionate. And big enough to hold like a dog.
Love the cheetahs, not a fan of the voice over work. Lovely and rare sounds needn't be ruined with ADR.
I thought the voice over was perfectly done!
@@MrLanternlandpretty sure it was AI generated
I tried so hard to make this work. I used the Beta VoicE.AI but it needs a lot of work and costs so I won't get the pro version when out. Can't afford it.
@@CheetahWhisperer I think you did a great job!
@@MrLanternland Thx!
The chirps are cool, but I didn't like the narration. Just meant I couldn't hear things properly, and added nothing.
Skip to the end. I left the last chapter with churps undisturbed.
@@CheetahWhisperer I did see that - I don't mean to hate or anything, but imho it would've been better without it altogether. That, or make the unnarrated section the same length/have all the same footage as the narrated one.
Their chirps are so sweet and funny. How long do they nurse for?
I was amazed they continue to nurse up until 8 months old! Wow! Talk about never leaving the nest. They are BIG cheetahs by then.
Please, next time, no voice overs. 😢 Edit: You heard my plea. 🙏🏾
With a degree in zoology you should know that anthropomorphising animals with fake voices removes any ounce of credibility you might have as a true conservationist.
Yeah... but I gata be me. It's my personality. Being serious all the time is boring.
Pretty stupid to talk over their calls!
For those who want to just here the nature background and chips... just click the chapter at the end.
May Allah protect you all
there is no god but Zeus and I am his Messenger
Please don't add voiceovers
I usually love your videos, but I want to hear cheetah sounds, NOT annoying children! This was the only bad video I have ever seen from you.
Skip to the end. I made a chapter of JUST the cheetahs chirping for those that don't like the overlay narration. I wanted to do this style video but realized some won't. 03:50
@@CheetahWhispererperhaps swap it next time and have the commentary at the end for those who want to watch that
I found the voice overs really annoying.
Dubbing the children’s voices in the video was incredibly annoying & unnecessary.
Ruined by dubbing over the real calls.
