08:37 Conclusion | Bye Abi Kimi Kayzer
Spent some weeks with Abi and her cubs. They are 1.5 years old now. Growing and maturing. Last time they hunted down a Blesbok. This visit they got to relax. Kimi is doing better than expected. Her personality and temperament is what I was hoping for. Kayzer is more of a boy maturing... Abi is great too and they STILL live together.
I suspect Abi will want to separate from her cubs within the next 6 months as that is when female cheetahs have completed their duties of raising their cubs (2 years). She may want to breed again and that's when she will want her own camp, away from her cubs. Kimi will have similar desires in the near future. It;s my plan for Kimi... when she decides and why I want her so calm around people and strangers. One day she may visit a cheetah project to breed and when fearful of new things and people, that does not work well in breeding. Remember I don't own Kayzer so his future will be decided by Running Wild Conservation.
Thanks for watching!

  • The noises they make is just adorable. I love all cats and I really wish I could visit this place and play with them for a while. I always get scratched to the point where my arms are covered in blood but I don't care, it's the price you pay for the privilige of being able to play with them. No pain, no gain as they say. The scars are totally worth it, no regrets.

    • These cats can be ethically trained not to bite or scratch using operant conditioning and lots of zoos train theirs for all sorts of things, like even drawing blood. I can't spend the time with mine to train them for their benefit yet due to time and place, but will when I have my own property one day. I volunteer and keep my cheetahs 🐆 at Running Wild Conservation in South Africa. The have a nice volly program where some of the cheetahs are friendly and get enrichment walks and hand feedings.

    • @@CheetahWhisperer Yes I've watched the videos like the ones with Gabriel or Abi and her cubs and I love how you interact with all of them and teach those that can be released into the wild how to hunt and all the skills they need to survive on their own. It's a shame Gabriel can't do that but maybe he can still be a father some day. Too bad that one female he seems so interested in doesn't seem to like him. Keep up all the good work, I've been subscribed for a little over a year now and I've been binch watching all the videos lately. I love watching these videos, the narration you do and the way you explain things are really well done and I've learned a lot about the differences in behavior of various big cats as well as the sounds they make. • Welcome! Key here is togetherness! With Abi mom too... One day they'll be separated. Mom will want to leave them as nature calls as well as Kimi. The urge to separate happens sometime after the cubs turn 2 years old. It's what happens in nature that way.

      @CheetahWhisperer@CheetahWhisperer6 ай бұрын
    • @@CheetahWhisperer I’m assuming that the separation occurs when the cubs reach sexual maturity and harmony among them start to fracture (and perhaps turn into rivalry), am I correct or does the age of 2 years mean something else?

      @kkhariy48@kkhariy486 ай бұрын
    • Yeah, especially in the wild. The female cub will want to separate and the mom. The male brothers will stay together as and form a collation until they die. Some outside unrelated males could join and even a related female for awhile. Mom will want to breed again and the female cub will too. In captivity, the mom can become more intolerant of the cubs and want to separate. You really have too because the male cubs when mature may become aroused by their mom and want to mate with her. I've seen that. It's how cheetahs survived the last Ice Age. Incest. And they still get those urges. I've seen where brother and sister can live together without that, though. There are couple of pairs of brother and sister that do not want to mate with each other. But, the female will not likely go into estrus living with their sisters and brothers. They must be separated to influence their hormones. THis is a cheetah breeding and rewilding center so having them ready to breed responsibly is the goal.@@kkhariy48

    • That's so wonderful. Mine too, but because Gabriel is the 1st cheetah I ever met and we hit it off purrfect. So worried about him. He's 10 now and getting older. He's enjoying good health so far. Most that live that long begin to fade by 13-15. Some live until over 20. That is life expectancy for captive ones that have good lives. Half that in the wild if lucky.

When cheetahs or any animal is NOT raised by mom's milk and company, they risk serious health and development issues. I've seen it and so togetherness for mom and cubs is essential for me. Some cheetahs LIKE the tough facade behavior that Gabriel has, because it instinctually means they will produce tougher surviving cubs in their mind. Some cheetahs like the way another smells, also instinctive as the ones that smell the most different are the MOST diverse... prevents incest. Some like the colors of certain cheetahs. SO, Kimi may actually select Gabriel as a mate in years to come. But Gabriel will need to like the estrus scent of her to prevent a fight. Gabriel doesn't have many more years left, he's 10 now. Lucky to make 15. Kimi may select someone else, but that is my goal for her to bare cubs when she is ready. The colations form between male brothers mostly. Last a lifetime. Some other males may be allowed to join but could be killed if not liked. Some related females can join temporarily until they leave to mate with other male cheetahs. Thanks for WATCHING!

  • Hey Dolph been a while ...I guess who no longer do the videos on ACE property and working on your own at another location? would you say the Cheetah is the most potential to be tamed of the big cats? Ever work with a previously long term abused cheetah and how long before they trusted you and potentially other humans?

    • I'm STILL looking for my own game farm/reserve to run my own project. I can't expand now because I have to rent limited space for my 3 cheetahs. Can't afford a large reserve I need and waiting for resources from potential partners to buy one. It does not look promising. Cheetahs as pets is a bad idea. They are endangers and focus should be reserving space for them, breeding projects that release and conservation efforts in all areas. As pets they do t breed and are very sensitive to a lot of stressful things and special diets and avoidance. Never tried taming a wild cheetah. It'd difficult but heard it happens. They do get better and less stressed over time if respected and loved and given walks in passage ways.

    • 1st don't take it badly if she does not like you back. Liking and loving someone takes time anyway. There are lots of other potential matched partners out there. If a bit shy, leave her secret admirer notes, physical ones in her locker or somewhere she frequents. Tell her what attracts you to her, don't be vulgar. After several notes, ask her to leave one for you somewhere only you can retrieve unnoticed. Hopefully she gets attracted. Most women, girls are not really into looks about someone but love when someone is into them. Then one note ask to meet for lunch or dinner, at Chick-fa-lea or somewhere. Not the best advice, but safe if you are sensitive about rejection. Don't be...

    • @@deandewilde4658 It's called a 'secret admirer'. Place several notes over a 2 week period where only SHE will find it, address to her by her name, in case someone else gets it. You can even have it delivered special Currier to her at school. Put it on/in her locker, maybe desk she sits, under her car windshield wiper, ect. But NOT at her house. Don't want to be a stalker. Last note is asking to meet. Tell her about your self in the note too. NOT too long or much. Save the big things about yourself for talking when you 1st meet at a public safe space. Can even be the library. Girls love that stuff... secret admirer's.
