2022 Porsche 911 GT3 Review // Turbo S... Who?
The 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 ($222,340 CAD as specced, ~$198,000 USD) is a high-revving, naturally aspirated sports car that mixes pure driving delight with precision track driving. Commanding over 500 horsepower and a nine-thousand RPM redline, Porsche claim the 911 GT3 can launch itself to 100km/h in just 3.4 seconds. But it should be able to tear up more than just the drag strip. Thomas and James take it out on the track to see what this generation can do and how it holds up against some hot laps. growing up I use to think why would anyone buy a 911…. They’re styled all the same…. Then I realized that the 911 is a timeless perfection and the 911 is the best pure sports car in the world!
I was exactly the same haha
Same
Yeah, and I always heard people who have money and like the 911, buys multiple 911s. And I thought it, why would anyone want multiple number of the same car. My opinion hasn't changed still, but I get why people buy multiple 911s, I might be keen to buy multiple versions as well.
Same here now I want one
So does i. When i was a lot younger a see Ferrari is THE MOST cool car. But then i realise that those Ferrari are not fast as Porsche in the track. And Porsche owner ussualy are not posser, unlike Ferrari and Lambo owner.
Your intros are always just the right amount of humour and tasty introduction.

if you like trash talk, sure
IMO it's the closest thing to GT or Top Gear out there. The cadence, the editing, and the word choice. These guys are really fucking talented.
My favorite part, almost always gets a a laugh or atleast a grin out of me and works as a great attention hook in terms of production, these guys have wit and charm

The production quality of these guys keeps growing exponentially. This is Top Gear level. Well done fellas.
I was thinking the same thing. It's simply brilliant.
which honestly is the highest praise one can give

911 is a dish best served GT3. You're damn right about that.
As someone who owns a M2 CS, there is no shame is coming second to a GT3, lol.
Plus you can actually buy a CS!
Curious what they could have done with CS with camber plates. Made a huge difference in my m2c

That “Italian dinner” metaphor was brilliant… wow
James: "and nature's a funny thing..." That was probably unplanned 😂😂😂
Still waiting to know if James survived that...or if Throttle House had to replace him with a new Lassie.

Can you guys try and arrange a test: Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series vs AMG GTR. It would be interesting too see if you guys think the Black Series is worth the extra money.
You even ask that? It is not worth the money unless you're very serious about track times. So for a normal person the Black Series is unnecessary, but so is already the AMG GT-R. The normal GT is what most people will need and that should be enough.
If you want the fastest road legal car around the green hell, the Black Series is obviously worth the extra money. For street driving purposes the GTR is the better choice.
It would be more to see if the experience is any different, does the Black Series improve the overall experience or is it just a glorified GTR?
The black series will not depreciate like the normal gtr tho

This channel gave me the most “Top Gear” vibe I since the original top gear. Great review, great driving, and fantastic chemistry/humor! Well done guys and keep it up.
The production value just keeps getting better. The B roll in the garage is beautiful. And I even appreciate the dirt on the lip of the rear fenders still being present showing us that the car was used and present the entire time yet still beautiful to look at. I enjoy your work immensely. Best review channel on KZhead, hands down. Thank you for your hard work.
Quite possibly the most beautiful car I have ever seen
I absolutely loved watching Thomas not being able to stop moving around and touching things after he finished his lapping. You could see the excitement and adrenaline running though his veins. This is why we LOVE cars. Great content, keep it up!!!!
Absolutely! He was in adrenaline heaven. Totally noticed that too. These guys do it right, very entertaining.
Watching this video made me reflect on how far Throttle house has come over the past couple of years. When I first watched it, I thought, "These guys are decent at car reviews, I would watch another one." Now they have come so far in production value, in their comfort in conversation and speaking interestingly about cars, and Thomas' driving to the limit is a thrill to watch. Watching him wring out this thing on the track, and his willingness to let it hang right out in the corners at very high speeds exceeds what you can see on pretty much any other publication, including the huge dominant publications. Well done, Throttle House, and thank you!
first time I can feel through camera and screen how fast Thomas is going on that track. amazing car, amazing video, amazing channel!
Yall are officially my fave car review journalist.
You guys make car reviews so much fun to watch. Keep up the great work buoyzz 👏🏻👏🏻
Probably the best car related channel, including YT / regular TV. Love your work, absolutely amazing!
The level of production! The music, the commentary, the humor, the conveyance of emotion. It’s world class!
Do you happen to know the music for the conclusion?
I actually had the privilege of driving one of these out on the track and my respect for Thomas has gone up exponentially in the way he slides the car. In my experience, it was VERY HARD to unstick the tail of the GT3.
You guys are amazing🎯❤️ I hope the intro change is just for the track series!!
You guys are by far the best car reviewers today.. like top gear died and I had nowhere else to go but you guys crack me up and give something you can’t get from “car testers”. I’m binge watching again. Thank you!

The love the sketches you guys do every time . Keep up the amazing work .
…AND I’M JAMES! 🤪🤪🤪 gets me every time
The way the Porsche took that corner at 6:50 was immaculate. Bravo Porsche!
Really reminds me of classic Top Gear in terms of the music, monologue and editing. Also the humor. Great work.
your videos are true masterpieces, always an excitement to watch, well done👍🏼
I swear the level of production gets better and better every main channel video. Bravo y'all. You guys are the fucking best!
They say you should never drive your heros, because you'll be disappointed. This car changes that. What a great car, great review (you guys rock seriously), and great channel! Thank you for this!
4:37 this part gave me chills with just the awesome energy he had when he spoke. Car enthusiasm is a deep passion
The sound of that 4.0 H6 is up there with the CGT and LFA for exhaust melody
It certainly has a distinctive sound that is quickly going extinct.
Gentlemen, I think this might be your best video yet. Congratulations to everyone that works on this amazing channel.
You guys cut me up! The whole "zed" thing pushes me clean over the edge! But you guys know it and talk about it various videos, and I respect that. Keep up the great work!!
Just by the sound of it, the naturally aspirated engine’s throttle response has yet to be matched by any turbo cars. Modern turbo engines respond great to full throttle and take off but, you never get this level of dissected mid-throttle adjustability.
M2CS is damn impressive considering the price and street settings
James' acting skills are crazy good ahaha. Or he's just naturally really funny
The production quality is getting insane! Keep it up guys 😋
They say if you ain’t first you are last but that doesn’t apply here! This is the best Shark blue 992 911 GT3 review hands down! Congrats guys it was worth the wait. 👍🏼
Love you guys videos, keep up the great work! And love this Porsche as well. One bit from an Aviation Tech, the low pressure side of the wing is the more driving factor in the actual forces of a wings up or downward pressure. In this case obviously reversed from my field the underside surface area is more important. Great reason for the mounts to be on top IMO.
This isn’t a review, this is a love letter ❤️
Brilliant review to listen to and watch. One of your best ever. I guess superior material helped put your usually quite good execution over the top.
Everyone else has reviewed, but you boys have reviewed with the most fun, honesty made-up words. Love it!
5:05 beautiful, James. What a machine. On another note, so glad they are staying NA with the BRZ.....
All hail the true successor to Top Gear and The Grand Tour. Imagine a super show with these two, Harris and Catchpole 😊 Kudos to the production crew as well !
Wow what a beautiful masterpiece once again guys. I have had the opportunity to test drive de last 3 gens of the 911 and only the 991.2 in its GT3 acoutrement, but at least it was manual and I can say not only it was the best manual trabsmission I have ever had connected to my heart, this was just an absolutely incredible life event to taste what I had the opportunity to sample that day with what Porsche have to offer. Anyway absolutely great video guys as usual!! Thanks!!
I am picking my blue GT3 tomorrow and one of the reasons is this review. Thomas and James, thank you for you awesome reviews and work.

Saturday morning wake and bake.. just finished CarWow's Porsche drag race video this morning and I'm back here to watch this video for the ALOT'th time! The intro (chef's kiss) into the abbreviated racing greeting (chef's kiss) and right into James "Ohh yeah.... OHHHHHHH yeah" It's a good morning boys!! Wax lyrical, I'm here for it!
I'd give this video 5 thumbs up if I could! The production quality is easily on par with Top Gear. Beautiful cinematography, nice cut from the Porsche ripping up the track to the Throttle house intro. I wish I could write a review that does this channel justice. I've been a subscriber since before James was on the scene and it keeps getting better and better. Keep up the good work guys!
I wonder if Thomas gets faster with every car he drives especially since he's racing now and should revisit some cars on the leaderboard...
I’ve long considered this, but my lap times have been more or less consistent in the same cars over the last few years. Track conditions likely make up more of a difference. If it’s early in the year the track is a bit slower because it’s “green”. That’s just the nature of doing a leaderboard over a couple years. But the laps are quite consistent overall I’d say.
@@thomasholland8436 wish the tires could be standardized

You two have literally the best automotive series to date, nothing else compares 🤷🏽♂️ not even Top Gear which I've watched every episode until the old blokes had to leave. Kudos to yall and the crew that makes it happen with you guys 👍🏼👍🏼
I think Carfection compares. Carfection has more emotion going, alongside nature shots and what not. Throttle House is more detailed and fun, I think. I love both channels :)
This is a "Top gear" quality show!
Not that I'm complaining, the production quality of this channel keeps getting better, but this video so reminded me of Top Gear reviews back when they were still cool.
These opening skits kill me! Great channel guys. Love from Detroit!

Incredibly well done, absolutely killed it! Great car too!
Gorgeous color! You can feel the grip through video. Crazy
Holy production value! Great review!

I loved the camera that was behind you on the hot lap. It helped me feel like I was in there.
The intro was excellent. I always look forward to them!
ooh loved the f1 references at the end
Always been a fan of the 911 but the 992 is on another level. Supercar performance and the GT3 keeps it pure and loves revving out... It's not the best of both, it's the _Best of Everything!!_ Love it even more now, bordering on obsession...
These videos are already amazing but just watched this one with good tv speakers and the Audio quality is superb
And the hits keep coming. The intros are awesome gents. Well done.

Great review , if I had the money 💰 I would go out and buy one , keep up the great reviews look forward to hear about the comparison of the two , I am more the touring in type no large wing
That is one hell of an exhaust note
Always impressed with your reviews and cars! I want one of these.
6:51 Brilliant overall description of the car except this part. If I may impart of visual physics portrayal, a 911 is essentially an inverted pendulum with the fulcrum reversed. The whole reason Ferdi put the engine in the back was to command traction. As the older cars demonstrated, a 911 is actually more at risk of snap Oversteer as the weight tries to overtake the front in cornering, which Porsche has steadily improved with evolutions of chassis refinement, suspension and aero work. That's why the 911 is such a great platform. Rather than constantly wiping the slate clean with new models every 7-8 years, each incarnation is an improvement towards perfection; some larger slices than others due to new technologies in engines, materials, transmissions, and overall design.
It does not cause snap oversteer, it actually has progressive controlled oversteer. Snap oversteer is where it flies out max angle drift right away n u have to be incredibly quick to react.
@@Sideways_Singh The older cars mind you, as written, most definitely had snap oversteer when cornering hard. Try any 80s or 90s car on very pronounced turtles during a weight shift on street tires...
What I like about the GT3 is not the insane wing or the fact that it has SVJ Style vents up front. What I like is that it's a driver's car, it doesn't have a million Horsepower and fifty thousand tons of down force. It has what it needs. That's it. Its a perfect example of what a Porsche is. I am more excited for the up coming sports classic and Safari though, for the former because I love the Turbo front and the ducktail spoiler, the latter because it leaves every SUV in the dust despite being a two door coupé.
No One Asked You Tho ...Thomas And James Already Told US LOL.
@@Vincent_Stevens and nobody asked you either, so what's your point?
@@DefinitelyNotEmma Well already The Two Told Literally What U Told, So There's No Point For You To Say The Same Again...Is That OK??
