2022 Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Review // LOUD NOISES

2022 ж. 12 Сәу.
1 483 124 Рет қаралды

The 2022 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS ($230,370 CAD as specced, $195,190 USD as specced) is nothing short of special. Special not only in terms of availability, but special in the sense of occasion it aims to provide you with as the driver. A nine-thousand rpm redline is at the command of your right foot. And with it comes the screaming sound of a naturally aspirated flat-six engine - further enhanced by two additional intakes nestled beside each ear. With 493 horsepower and 332 lb ft of torque, this Porsche looks hard to beat on paper. But does this mighty machine live up to its high expectations on the track? Thomas and James are excited to find out! We hope you enjoy the episode! SUBSCRIBE!
Big thank you to Chris Harris for agreeing to be our janky cameraman. Check out his new project at collectingcars.com

Superb lads, superb!!

  • I love the Cayman, and I absolutely adore the GT4 (and the RS) and I always say that due to the mid engined layout of the Cayman Is dynamically better………. But I still want a 911, even if the 911 is inherently flawed with the engine hanging out the arse.

    @MitchDenham@MitchDenham2 жыл бұрын
    • GT3 will be easier to get then the GT4 RS. I am trying to get a GT3 but if they made an RS with a six speed I would love to "try" to get one. I have a Cayman S and I love the mid engine layout.

  • What a beautiful sound in a perfect car. I just couldn't do without a manual in something so engaging and experience-driven. I get the PDK of course because it's a laptime monster, but where I live, all the damn racetracks are closing, which means I'd need to take it elsewhere to drive it to its potential as opposed to be stuck with 2 gears (or 1 with the regular manual GT4...). Sometimes I wish a smaller lighter 2.0L H6 (half scaled 4.0L GT4RS) existed in a lighter car to be able to wring it out on the streets in legality, maybe go through 3 full gears with that in-cabin orchestra. lol

    • It surely does sound great, and also is very distinctive. And, yes sound is a matter of taste. But the sound of a V12 Ferrari, a 812 Competizione for example, sounds just so much better. Especially in the low RPM range, but also at 9000 rpm.
