    • @@browns1218 We need to remember that when this fight took place, Manny Pacquiao was the P4P #1 and Marquez was ranked P4P #2. Mayweather was coming back from retirement, this was his first fight in like 2 years. So Marquez was probably at the height of powers here. He definitely wanted to force another fight with Pacquiao, and he knew Pacquiao couldn’t get away with ducking him if Marquez was #2 . He certainly couldn’t duck Marquez if he were to beat Mayweather. So I think Marquez not only saw this fight as nice PPV payday, but a chance to leverage another big PPV fight with Pacquiao. Marquez is a warrior, he wasn’t planning to lose this fight. Mayweather missed weight by like two pounds and Marquez got an extra $600K for it. I honestly don’t think that an extra two pounds influenced the outcome. I don’t think Marquez was prepared for just just how fast Mayweather really was. He said that in his post fight interview. “He’s too fast”. I think Marquez actually like his chances against a guy who had been retired for a couple years. Floyd just isn’t normal though. No one is that sharpe. You can’t really prepare for it.

    @crazyaboutboxing9385@crazyaboutboxing93854 жыл бұрын
    • He did have an answer, you can see he started to hook along with it right after the knock down. After that he tried other varieties of combinations to counter it. The problem was that floyd mixed the low jump hook with the higher jump hook which are totally different and require a different response for the counter puncher. Floyds speed and trickery makes it that much harder to anticipate which one is comming.

Real war is about not giving the other side the fight they want and putting them in positions where they aren't comfortable or effective. Almost every single major war in history was won that way. Same way here was how he beat Pacquiao by just not giving the midrange distance Pacquiao is comfortable / effective in and potshotting him from the outside ~ 😚
