He was terrible. Can't box at all. Just put his head down and threw wild punches. I don't even think he hit Floyd once. He punched his elbows and the ropes.
He must have thrown 50 punches from top to bottom hitting the head and occipital area, I don't think it's very regular, anyone can hit you if he starts punching you as well where he couldn't, at this point punches in the balls also count, shameful, so many punches thrown on the head

Anyway, I said Maidana's one of my favourites of all time, I didn't say he was the best boxer of all time. He let his hands go at any opportunity and was never knocked out, it was always a lot of fun watching him go after his opponent, most of whom were fighting simply to make it to the end of the bout.

He absolutely does not. Maybe you can make a case for the one judge scoring it a tie live, but being able to rewatch it it’s very clear that the fight wasn’t that close. Maidana won maybe 4 rounds. You cannot forget to score defense. If a fighter throws 30 punches and lands 10 vs the other fighter throwing 18 and landing 9, the 9 is most likely winning the round. More accurate, more elusive, and comparable in punches landed. The crowd tends to sway peoples opinions and make you think punches are landing.
