May 30, 2020 - About time I finally get back into the skies in my sailplane (glider) so I decided to start filming in 4K! It is nice to be able to read the instruments better on the big screen. This was a fun flight with my friend Josef Bostik out to the Nevada border and back. We knew we would have some storms but not as many as we saw. More videos will come from this flight. Stay tuned. Thanks everyone for the kind well wishes and check ins during these troubled C19 times. I hope all my friends stay safe and employed and we get through this as quickly as possible. I hope to have some fun flights this year to share with you. So for it is getting off to a slow start but hope it picks up. Cheers! Bruno - B4
glad your back flying missed your videos
Glad you're back. Covid19 left me 15 days in the ICU of a hospital and I must say that reviewing yours long old videos during the hospitalization made the recovery process easier. As an old saying goes in Latin: "Navigare necesse est, vivere non est necesse". Thank you from Brazil.
Carumba rapaz!!! Sinto muito. Que bom que voce e' melhor agora. Esperou que voce e' melhor do que meu portugues. KKK. Um forte abraco e estou feliz que voce pude ver os vidoes meus durante recovery.
Thank you again. You are invited to come to Brazil whenever you want. My Std. Cirrus is not an ASW-27, but we have many options in our flight club ...
Great to see you back !
Well, so you are not longer locked down but locked up, what is a lot better! 👍😀
Been 20 years since I last managed to glide (Can't afford it outside the RAF as a civvy), boy do I miss it now and again, I still live it through your videos.
Glad you are back. I do enjoy your flights. I have about 250 hrs in gliders but have not flown for some years. I hope to get up in the air again this year..... Keep them coming....
Do it! Go for a flight this year!!!
Thank god he’s back. I missed him
I've been watching all your reruns LOL! It never gets old Bruno 👍!!
Haha - that is so sad. I need to give you some new content. Will hard on this.

Thanks Kim and I look forward to sharing many more with you.
Like the 4k. Looks great on my 4K TV...
4K LOOKS GREAT!
Great to see you again 👍🏻
Nice to see those knees again!
Hi Bruno! Great that you're flying again, have fun!
Hey
Lucky you. Two seater flying is still banned in the UK so I'm still grounded, not flown since February.
The only thing I'm getting out of the 4k is that I can see your arm hair better =D
😆
Hey there are patches of leg hair too! ;)
@@BrunoVassel ahahah keep up the good work. I love every single video, though my favorite part are your smooth landings!
Solid observation
Nice to see a new video. I've been looking through some of your old ones, and others on KZhead as I'm going to start gliding again after a 17 year break. Looking forward to getting to solo again once the clubs allow dual flights. I'll keep an eye out for any new videos. I particularly like the out-landing ones as it give us a chance to analyse the decision making process. Not that I hope you have too many of those types of landings :)
Thanks for the comments! I almost landed out twice this weekend. Once Saturday and once on Sunday flights. Made for some good video so I hope you enjoy. That is great you are getting back into gliding!!!!
@@BrunoVassel Thanks for the reply. Quick question. Have you considered getting a 360 degree camera installed for your flights, or maybe a head mounted cam for a few of them? It would be great to see a different view on take off, thermalling and especially on landing and the low passes, as you need to look to the sides as much as ahead. Not sure how practical a 360 video would be, or how easy it would to edit/upload. I would be great to look around and see the wings, air brakes and flaps working. All the best.
Thank God you are back Bruno. We are just going down into our winter in Australia, so the more flying videos you can put out over the next couple of months the better. Happy flying and safe landings!!
So beautiful up there, thank you for sharing Brother. Your truly blessed, enjoy👍🏻~John
happy to see you back up in the air and posting videos again!!!
Glad you're doing well. Be safe!
I've missed the r2d2 sound effects
boo boo bee beee BII BII bee boo boo !
*bloop*
The more excited R2 gets, the more excited Bruno gets! (when you fly yourself you will learn to love the sound, it means that the flight will continue!)
Stefs Engineering *BLEEP*
Cheers Bruno, Western Australia has just opened up almost all of the state, being so isolated we were pretty luck, mainly only cruise ship infections. The 4k video looks great, but because I primarily watch your footage on my mobile phone I can't make out the instruments at all. Be sure great to have them overlaid on screen
Cheers
Hey Bruno - I enjoyed your presentation at the SSA Convention in Little Rock! That seems like a decade ago. Glad to see you back in the air again, making videos for all of us to enjoy! Stay safe!
Good to see you back in the air. We started up 2 weeks ago.
2020, finally! Many thanks for sharing the event. I see in the various comments that I was not the only one waiting for it. The following request may be unreasonable: I would enjoy every moment of the video of this flight. And I would be happy to watch more flights, and longer parts of them. I can see some improvements in the sharpness of the image with the 4K camera, even with my 2K screen. I'll watch it on my 4K TV.
Editing 4K is easy! When the video is 2min long... I have wondered if it's worth it, but I think even if you watch it in 1080 it is clearer. But the advantage is it'll look great on future TVs, and people can read the instrument panel more easily.
And he's back! It's like flying a u2 spy plane with no engine. What's the glide ratio on that thing? 50:1 ? Hope you take us to the tetons again they're spectacular! You're an awesome pilot thanks for the videos hope you have a great summer
Close - 48:1 glide and it is much easier to land than a U2. Haha.
Happy to see your vids again. I am the vicarious glider pilot, leaning into the upward spirals with my head tilted over enjoying the pin sharp views from your camera, my face up close almost swallowed by the screen! :o) I fly radio control gliders the rest of the time, with high hopes he he! It is interesting to note that you need only the lightest touch on your control column to effect a response, which looks not much different from that required by my little radio transmitter's joysticks. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers!
I was thinking of you on Saturday the 30th here in St George, UT. The cloud streets were lined up North to South about 10 miles apart. Perfect for running the Parowan triple. 3 National parks (Bryce, Zion, Grand Canyon) .
on the way to 100K !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like he cares.
@@Arcticfox7 Haha - I think they send me a plastic Play button I can hang on my wall when I get there.
Hi Bruno Welcome back to gliding and will pray for you that you and your family will be free of covid 19 y Justin
Thanks - you too.
Hey Bruno what’s the max altitude do one of these gliders particular the one you fly.
Hey what happened to the Breitling!?
Now that’s the way to self isolate 😉
cool
Welcome back.
Ahhh I love your videos and this is way too short! Will you post longer one's again?
Yes - but enjoy a few short ones often over the next few weeks.
@@BrunoVassel Awesome and will do ha ha! Thanks for sharing some fantastic videos!
You got any 360 footage?
Glad to see you're practicing social distancing.
i was aiming for a test lesson, Corona ended it for now, im waiting to get up in a glider (former paraglider), You earned a sub on my way
Nice! Have a fun and safe lesson. You will love it!
Missed ya!
I've been doing weight loss with 16 hours not eating and staying under 2000 calories during that time. Basically you start by waiting as late in the day as you can until you eat and then being reasonable when you do. I've tried Atkins etc. This works for me. I bring this up because I remember in an older video where you mentioned how much thinner your hands looked in your vids. Well,,, And I mean this in the best of ways, your hands are looking like mine did a month ago. I've lost 20 Lbs in 3 months so far and it was actually easy. Not trying hard, just following the cycles. Look up intermittent fasting. It's a great way to lose weight. I am concerned for you bud and I really need your videos to continue. LOL Much love from Arizona.
Any flying club that has decent equipment around utah county? I have looked at buying but the equipment's are bit expensive.
Oh thank you for 4k!!! Even though my monitor is 2k I can now read your ASI, unlike 1080. Now all we need is the rest of the video please. Shooting in 4k will be most beneficial when your old videos are being watched in 5-10 years, 1080 then will be like 480 is now, real hard to watch.
Nice! That was the goal.
4 k can look good, but most often it drains the Gopro battery too fast, its more data to work more slowly with. For me I go for 2.7k now, but Im an amateur compared to you :)
11th comment But seriously gliders ! :D
This video's unfortunately so short that the progress bar is nosediving so much faster than I'd like,.. much like 2020's been so far. Y'all stay safe now, ya hear?! :)
Nice vid. who do you look up to? Also, I really want to Be youtube Friends xo
I love Balleka's videos. Unfortunately he is not with us any more. Look him up if you haven't seen them.
@@BrunoVassel Balleka's videos are works of art, beautiful shots and his selection of music to them absolutely perfect, a joy the eyes and ears. Yours are too, in a different way. While you don't put them to music, you are talented in your ability to narrate "on the fly" (sorry for the pun) and relate/show us interesting stuff. Glad you're back up and flying. I'm still grounded until we can do check-flights (so lots of time to work on the Libelle's panel and fix the trailer). Stay safe Bruno.
This Video is Fake! No Rolex GMT Master in it...
My watch started losing more than a few seconds every day. Need to get it into the shop and get a service done. It is about 9 years old so I think that is about the normal timing for this? Haha- you have watched too many of my videos. I would be super shocked if you could guess the other watch I sometimes wear... Cheers.
@@BrunoVassel Ha! It's not hard to spot if one is a bit into watches. I saw this red monster in your cockpit the other day wich seemed to me like a Breitling Superocean Chrono but with a sort of rare special design. Actually a very nice watch that comes with lots of value. Good taste on that! Why not make a new watch video since these thingys always been the sidekick detail in your regular cockpit videos.
@@snorrsenkel568 Haha - I'm impressed. The red one is a Chronomat. I love that watch. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Bruno
