Glider Flying Over Amazing Fall Colors - Part 2 of 2

Flying over the Wasatch mountains east of Manti, Utah over what is commonly called Skyline Drive in a glider just to enjoy the wonderful rich fall colors of the changing leaves. Utah mountains have some of the best displays of color as the leaves change and this year was not a letdown. The glider is an ASW27 15 meter (50 foot) wingspan high performance glider capable of flying many hundreds of miles in a single flight while flying up to 175 miles per hour! I sure hope you enjoy this soaring and flying video and please let me know what you think of the view! Bruno

  • Best of both worlds, gliding endlessly on the ridge lift and oozing over colours of the fall, looks like heaven to me.

  • I am inspired! I have been wingsuiting from cliffs for 13 years and flying RC gliders for most of my life. It's time to fly real gliders. I am signing up for the course at Cu Nim in Black Diamond Alberta, Canada this summer. 🤘👍

  • What a dream. These things are amazing in Flight Simulator, but they're even more majestic here... you really get the sense of speed better in an actual video. I'm a paramotor pilot, so I don't think I'll ever be flying this fast, but man, I'd love to share a sky that clear.

I love that after all these years and hours in the air you still don't take these moments for granted. It's truly magical, like a dream.

  • This is one of the most incredible videos I've seen in a while. I first saw your stunt show, and what a show it was.. I could sip coffee to this. I'm looking up the glider and I still don't understand how this is able to fly so efficiently. Physics are *insane!* It takes some bravado to get in that seat all by yourself and confidently gliiiide around in the air.. Incredible. Subbed.

I fly for fun and just happen to video while I do it. I don’t fly to video. The hard part is spending the many hours battling editing to then share it. Cheers and thanks for the kind words!!! Congrats on getting up in the 1000! Fun glider.

  • Beautiful! Your vario sounds different. Is it just a new setting you changed, or is it a new variometer? Also, how strong does the wind need to be for that ridge to work like that? It doesn't look that steep, so I would imagine it would take quite a bit of wind to make it work.

  • Hey Bruno, when your in a glider with the vent closed, how much is the wind/air noise? We only hear what the mic creates and I've always wonder about how noisy it really is.

    @justme.9711@justme.9711 Жыл бұрын
    • Good question. This season I finally figured out how to seal my canopy correctly so it is pretty quiet when I close my vent. That said, it gets hot quick so I pretty much always have at least a little vent open with more noise.

  • Did you find thermal lift soon after the filming cut off or did you meander down the ridge further? Great looking Cumulus clouds but they seemed too far Lee of the ridge?

    @csleclerc57@csleclerc57 Жыл бұрын
    • I found a thermal soon after that took me high enough to comfortably make it back home and you are correct, the clouds were too far to the east on the lee side to work unless I climbed high to get over to them. I could have but wanted to get home to take my wife out on a date. :)
