Fillmore, Utah is right about smack dab in the middle of the state. I don't know of any real famous things about it other than it is a common stop while driving on I-15 to get gas or a bite to eat. But from the air...the mountains just east of Fillmore are spectacular! This video was taken from a 15 meter (50 feet wing span) glider or sailplane and shows off how amazing the mountains are right next to Fillmore. I sure hope you enjoy the ride! Bruno - B4
I hope that you can glide soon (saw the thing with FAA). Just found this channel and now I think gliders are the coolest thing on the planet! 😊
Thank you for this great flight. It's like I was flying by myself.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@BrunoVassel Just an idea, use the camera this guy has: kzhead.info/sun/oMxxnNuSZJdrnXA/bejne.html It's the closest to sitting in the glider yourself that I have seen.
Love this scenery! Thanks for sharing Bruno!
Just took my rc glider out first time this season clouds moved in and break was over 😉Great to see your back at it ☺️
I love exploring with you, Bruno. Thanks for bringing us along for the adventure!
I love it when you show the elevation and air speed on your screen and can watch you go up and down while listening to the vario!
Thanks for posting these videos, kids and I love them!! Be careful, Godspeed!
Your movies are great. You seem to be an expert for flying a sailplane. I especially like your comments. They tell me, that you are really full of respect for flying and all for depending on them. This is very important to handle the plane in difficult situations. And your sense of humour and enthusiasm. Although you always look easy to fly the plane. I already have looked plenty of your uploads.
What an epic flight! Thanks for taking me along.
Bruno, am happy for when you can start flying again love yours videos hope to see you soon posting
Hello I'm 15 and last summer I was 14 I did my first ever solo flight in a ASK 21 sure you herd of her she is kind of acrobatic and really fun to fly loved it and next year il be 16 and I'm gonna be able to examine for my privet license im in Spain by the way and flying in the border between France and Spain is amazing when covid is out of the way you should go I'm sure you will enjoy it have fun flying.
Excellent footage again. The new camera position is really good , i can now read all your instruments. Thanks for the work you put in to the uploads it's appreciated and they're enjoyed. Thank you.
You inspire me. I need to be a glider pilot. Would love to give it a try. Absolutely fascinating stuff. Thanks for the informative commentary in the videos. I have learned so much from watching your full length videos. Best channel on youtube.
Glad your back.
Your videos eliminate the boredom of an exercise bike! Until I am back in the air in my ASW20-L anyway. Thanks for helping me to keep fit!
looks really good in 4k now . Liked the little adventure .
Glad to see you back in the air, Bruno!
Thank you, Bruno! I started my glider add-on because of you!
Nice! Have a blast and be safe. Cheers.
I've been deer hunting in those mountains. Flew over in a Cessna. Years ago.....Thanks for the reminisce!! Oh, and the Nephi strip sure has been upgraded since the last time I landed there!
Oh man, this is amazing! Reminds me of some flying back in 2006, also last time I flew a glider or anything.... :\
I live for these videos
The new flight sim looks dope 👍
I wish I wasn't an absolute mouth breather when it came to flying. These videos are amazing for those of us who can afford neither glider/paramotor or a 3090 for MS Simulator. Edit: Oh ya, subbed
That was fun thanks again ! The virus put a stop to my training this summer.. But I own a altralight ya and I’m still flying love it 👍✈️ maybe in the fall I’ll be gliding again .
As always, fantastic skills, fantastic view, fantastic gliding. i like you ;)
Just rode in a sailplane after 7 years of hang gliding and 2 years of having a power PPL, inspired me to get an add-on!
That's an awesome video Bruno! When will you start flying again?
Wow, amazing views
I love watching your videos, it's very relaxing, but I wondered you ever get bored just sitting there for hours.
Have a safe xmas Bruno. It's 34 celcius here, long way from Utah.
Thank you for sharing this new video, Bruno! Glad to see you again in the air:-)
More to come! Unfortunately, my 7 months of silence begins July 20... :(
@@BrunoVassel Seven months of silence?

@@koloo3220 Thanks for the support! I look forward to getting back into the air next year. Cheers.
Nice with some mountain flying. Some Day... in the future...i would go gliding in the US For now.. the lokal mountains have to do the job
Would be cool to see an altimeter display over these videos. Awesome.
Hey Bruno, I just wanted to say that I love your videos. I have all my flight students watch them when I want to emphasis "finger tip controls" while doing IFR work. While I don't fly gliders, I'm very interested to try one of these days! Keep up the great work.
Thanks for the kind words! You need to go fly a glider and see for yourself how amazing they are. Cheers.
Bruno i watched a video where you were gliding over some beautiful canyons in Utah and you had the gopro on your head so we could see were you were looking. I really loved that view felt like I was in the glider too. If you get the opportunity it would be awesome if you could mount the camera to your head again. Thank you for the amazing videos. You have inspired me to sine up for a ride with the local gliders club in wa wen the season starts back up.
Fun ridge running!
I love gliders!
hope you can start flying again!
Why haven’t you posted in months? You’re videos calm me down so much when I’m feeling depressed
Hes probably under license suspension for performing acrobatics in airshow, if i remember correctly it was 7 month suspension. Edit: for anyone wondering, see hes older video about why
@@jarnom85 he said 8 months ago he was suspended for 7 months. Should be able to fly by now
@@north-shoregcs3894 8 months ago he said he was going to be suspended, only implying future not exact time
@@jarnom85 he’s flying he posted it with a vid I guess he’s busy I hope everything is ok I watch these vids over and over 👍
Sorry not to find any new post from you. I wish everything be fine for you, your family, and for the glider pilot in you!
This is why KZhead is awesome.
Hope you're still flying, Bruno!
Awesome.
Bruno I'm prob higher then you are in your glider but loved the vids. First time seeing a glider pretty cool how you stay up an able to fly off jus wind
Got me looking for local soaring clubs like a crazy person.
7 months are gone, hope you can fly soon 🔜
awesome
Making a comment for a friend: Look at 2:25 for about a minute. It put a smile on my face!
Hey Bruno, or anyone who can answer - PLEASE! What level of instrumentation/help can you get from just ipad apps these days. I love your display of track and climb to be able to track the thermal that you are in, but can you get that on any ipad/phone apps????
Have you ever flown the Classic Utah triangle. Fillmore/Virgin/Beaver.
A+
Because of the cabin glass, the only difference between 4k and 720 is that one can exactly count all hairs on Bruno's arms :)
So is your suspension should be over soon. More videos coming?
Are you using any flight tracking system/ software?
I’m curious if you have ever tried a chase cam!
In 2019 you made a video of a air show and said you lost your licence so its good to see you flying again. What are the costs of flying a glider as i would really like to try it out? Im currently 16 and saving money to do my licence for ppl as i want to become a airline pilot one day. Ive heard that gliding is a lot cheaper and that many people start like that so do you think its worth a try?
If its you're dream. Then absolutely
At my club it’s about $30 for a tow to 3,000, and then $10-14 an hour for the glider but you have to pay for a full hour. There is also a $40 a month membership fee to the club. I’m on scholarship rn which includes 35 flights, instruction, and materials. Look and see if there are any opportunities like that for you.
Howz it going? Getting any flying done? Hope you’re well!
If you put tape on your lid, can you actually eject it if you need to bail out?! Obviously blocking bail out is a really bad idea :) Unless you don't fly with a chute at all?! Get some surgical tube and seal it up with that I suggest. Or use the plastic wrap method with some sealant.
How much does a new glider cost? Do you need ppl or sports license or any other specialized license to fly these gliders ?
hey, what's up Bruno, I've been thinking about getting a glider and on eBay I've been finding them for around 250-400 is that a trusted price?
NICE
two more months to go ?
this would be totally epic with a 360 degree camera mounted in a good spot... any idea where would be best?
on his helmet?
Close to the center of gravity, on the fuselage behind the canopy: kzhead.info/sun/jbycn52ffphonK8/bejne.html
@@marijnfly I'd like to see footage from one mounted to the underside of the fuselage, so that every bit of the ground can be seen/scanned.
Good.
Coming back soon? Hope so
I'm interested in knowing about your callsign/tail number. Is it based on the plane's registration number? If not, is it assigned somewhere? Is there a list available online? Just wondering. Thanks. I enjoy your videos and have watched quite a few.
Stephen A. Wolfe thanks for watching. My call sign is for contest flying. Nothing to do with tail number. Do a google search for glider contest ID database. Cheers!
Bruno Vassel Thank you
What camera are you using? Looks great on my 75" 4k.
GoPro7Black. It is a little bit glitchy but makes decent quality video.
@@BrunoVassel Thanks Bruno. May need to upgrade my Hero 4 for the Caterham. 🙂
@@BrunoVassel The 4K looks nice, can read all the gauges. Have you gotten an overheat shutdown on the GP7? I just upgraded to a GoPro8 and in the summertime it will quit due to overheating.
I recently moved to Logan Utah and want to get my glider license. Have you had any experience with leading edge aviation? Or have anywhere you would recommend for training? Thanks!
Welcome to Logan. Leading Edge is great. The Utah Soaring Association has a club glider up in Logan and there are instructors up there. You should not have any problems. Join the club!
@@BrunoVassel Thanks I will check them out!!
👍👍👍😀
I need my Bruno upload fix! 6 months is too long!!
I love your videos, But they are so scarey. It looks like you don't you don't have enough room to gain any airspeed. Thanks for the ride.
I should know this, but what glider?
ASW27B
Hey Bruno, where have you gone? Getting a bit worried mate
Hey thanks for your concern. :) I got my pilot's license suspended for 7 months due to flying an airshow that the FAA didn't think was funny. If you haven't seen the video, please look it up on my channel. I get my wings back in February. Cheers!
@@BrunoVassel Hi Bruno, pleased you're ok. yeah I've watch the video but didn't realise it was such a long time since you lost your wings. all the best Paul
@@BrunoVassel Bruno, In just a couple days you'll get it back. I'm so excited!
@@jacobdaniels3246 Thanks! Me too! Cheers.
I think you gotta be a little far from the mountain because of that boundary layer effect
Where to land if the engine quit
Please tell me that you can legally fly again!!!
Do glider pilots wear a adult nappy/diaper for long air time ???
Just me. No - we use condom catheters. Works great.
@@BrunoVassel Yep', cool....what about #2's, ever had a problem, or do you have/know of a strategy, or do most guys just make damn sure they go in the morning and then just trust the body to, well to quote the Fonz - sit on it, lol.. P.S. Thanks for the reply.
@@justme.9711 We go right before. Never had a problem nor heard of anyone having one. I guess it is a good rule of thumb to not go flying if you have digestive issues going on...
@@BrunoVassel Thanks Bruno. I have never had a problem, but I see it as a potential problem that should be discussed and the solution known, again, much thanks.
Fillmore was Utah's first territorial capital.
also Gary Kemp's first turnpoint for 500 K speed triangle from Parowan, Garrison was the second turnpoint.
Should be coming out of suspension about now.
Today is the day!!!! Party in the sky!
Please add speed and altitude It becomes so much more interesting to watch.
you can see it on the dashboard dumb dumb
@@tarunbasra8230 It is so easy to add that info on the video while recording so .... why not? I really can not see the dashboard clearly
Very nice Bruno. I have been following you since the Phobus days. I flew gliders at Krey field in southern California. Then got into paragliders. Have been thinking about getting back into sailplanes. Here's a video from Cedar mountain a few years ago. kzhead.info/sun/qpVvc6eDipN8e3k/bejne.html
What is the point of that little dancing thing on your windshield?
Its a yaw string. Helps to notice when the glider is balanced correctly when turning without looking in the cockpit at the turn and slip indicator
You use it to see how much rudder you need to put in, if its in the middle your good. If its not in the middle you start slipping.
Chris Williams, ah, okay. Thank you.
Maximus Lockhart, that makes sense. Danke.
@Maximus Lockhart It has nothing to do with wind direction. It is all to do with the application of rudder in a turn. Relates to the primary and secondary effects of controls.
ever heard of that guy that flew his glider betwen hawaiian islands and died.
God's creation.
Please monitise your video to make money from KZhead. Seen you lost thousands on that airshow you did. Make your money back.
