Flying through the mountains happens much more than just in the movies. Glider pilots who are crazy/brave enough can play and fly amoung the mountain peaks like what you see in the big screen - just a little bit slower and not hitting 9+. G's. The glider is an ASW27 and the airport I am flying from is Nephi, Utah. This footage was taken just east of Manti, Utah. Thanks as always for watching and for all your comments and support! Bruno - B4
Delighted to see you back! XC Hang Glider Pilot with 15 years experience following you for years. 👍😎👍
It's good to see a video again from you I enjoy these very much as do many others thank you not long enough.
at 6:31 a fly decides he wants to go sit in the back lol. great video Bruno, always a pleasure to come along for the ride which sat in my chair.
paraG pilot here. You are the only channel that I turn to 4k to watch. :)
Hello Bruno, I've been watching you for years! I love these flights. I am still planning on doing an intro glider flight one of these days but I haven't been able to. I hope one day to be up there amongst the thermals with you!
In addition to the splendor on display, this newbie student notices your effortlessly coordinated turns and super light touch on the stick ;)
It's always a joy to fly with you. 🙂
Thank you Bruno , you are a top gun for sure
Super cool to see you flying!
Missed you! Nice to see your flights again :)
Great scenery! Thank you for these videos - inspired me to starting flying on the weekends with a local club to work toward my glider add on. Had been ages since I last flew powered (ASEL - 2006) but I'm 40 flights down and should be soloing here within a few weeks.
Thankyou Bruno for your videso, nice and non hyped, showing your thinking.
Envy is not a desirable trait for me, but Bruno, I am envious of you my friend. Thank you for all your content!
Haha thanks James. So glad you are enjoying watching. Cheers.
Great that you're back and flying. Missed you.
Simply amazing ! Thank you so much 😊👍🏽
What a beautiful video! Thx for your great content!
good to see you back posting videos , happy flying season
Thanks for sharing, this improves my day
Great to see you still fit. Now down to business and happy landings.
Welcome Back !
This is so cool. Watched your air balloon lesson since im hoping to go for my license and im glad you have more videos.
ive been watching lots of your videos! Amazing work you do and looks sooo funnn!!!.
What stunning looking back country.
Bruno my man, I am so glad to see you in the air. I miss flying so sometimes I come here to get my fix ;)
Thanks for watching and saying hi! 😎👍
I'm liking the gimbaled camera!
Heeey! Great to have you back!
I’m thirteen and about to start learning to fly a glider! So at fourteen I can get my license!
Is this a new camera mount? I don't remember the camera being as independent from the axis of the glider. I really enjoyed watching this one. It's great to see you still up there having fun.
Probably the GoPro 10 feature which keeps the image horizontally aligned.
@@carstenbeinecke5493 yup
Bravo 4 is BACK!!
Simple question - with complex answer? Watching your vids, I see constant stick movement for corrections. The question is: Why? What would happen if you only moved the stick when big corrections were necessary, rather than micro corrections? I suggest trying that next time - just to do something different and see what actually happens. You might deviate more than normal, but just how much???
Hello again, Bruno! You can be my wingman anytime!
so cool
I love your videos thank you for posting them. I’m moving to the Provo area in the fall, could you recommend a good instructor. I would like to get my glider rating.
Welcome to Utah. John Gonthier down in Nephi will take good care of you.
@@BrunoVassel thanks for the fast response
amazing how little stick movement is required to activate the control surfaces
Hello, here are very few videos from this year. What happened ?
Even sounds like a jet. Do y'all have something like FLARM? Do we use that in the States? Great video as always.
So Bruno what was keeping you up? Ridge lift? you were so low the whole time I couldn't really see what made it happen.
Yeah ridge lift. The wind was from a bad angle so it wasn’t very strong but enough to keep the ship up.
Do you ride the wind or how do you keep going . What if you judge it wrong you just crash or what
I have missed your vids. Buddy, I see you've found some great restaurants. Be careful. I remember your vid about the weight and how well you were doing with it. I'm guilty also and am trying to get under 240 and then another 10 Lbs at least so that I can qualify to get in the trainer glider. You have to be under 240Lbs. to start training, and I've been struggling with this and that for the last 2 years to achieve that. Your vids have made me want to go from hang gliding to sailplanes to be biwingal as it were. I already fly the largest hang glider they make. LOL It's a constant battle isn't it? UGH!!!!!!!!! It's YOUR videos that make me want to learn sailplanes man!!!!!! I'm doing intermittent fasting. Waiting until later in the day to eat and having the last meal of the day earlier. It's working, but it's taking a long time. Especially since I had a pinched sciatic nerve, then a torn shoulder, then a stretched out thumb ligament that travelled up my entire arm. (happened while under tow with hang gliding.) All that in the last 2.5 years has had me grounded. UGH!!!!!!!!! I have faith in you bud. Keep up the vids. Love them as always. Living your best life!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Gary. Great to hear from you. Weight is a battle for some of us. The skinny people don’t understand. That said, we miss out on so much with these extra pounds. Sorry to hear about your thumb! Keep up the battle and hope you get to fly. Cheers.
Any way you can strap on an IMAX camera? What if it was 3D! Hmmm.
Beautiful video. Your videos could be used for flight simulator games.
if you were to start to have a "dog fight" with another glider, replicating one of the topgun scenes. What kind of G force could the ASW27 pull?
I have a dogfighting video with another glider. It is pretty tame but still fun. The 27 can pull around 5 g’s. When I loop I pull 3.5 g’s.
There's quite a lot of snow for June. Or was this filmed earlier in the year?
Filmed 2 days ago. We didn’t get a ton of snow this last winter but it has been a cooler spring and summer so it has melted slower.
@@BrunoVassel such beautiful country! Enjoyed every minute today.
Whats the beeping sound that goes off every now and then.
Hey, just curious, but WHY would you choose a glider over a small plane? Are there any advantages to using a glider over a small plane? I mean isn't it more trouble to fly a glider where you are constantly being forced down and having to worry about making sure you get to your landing spot before you get too low? I think id much rather just fly a small single prop plane than a glider, at least when you have an engine you can go higher and fly for as long as you have fuel to do so.
Kinda like asking a cyclist why they don't just ride a motorcycle... ask a hiker why they don't just drive. Swimming for recreation? Crazy, we have boats for that now! Silly goose.
@@swallowsjeremyy Well no, you see ALL the things you just named, riding bikes, hiking or what have you, NONE of those things FALL OUT OF THE SKY. LOL, just saying that when it comes to being thousands of feet in the air, I'd prefer the thing I was in staying in the air did NOT depend solely on the air itself. I mean a glider isn't even "flying", it's falling gracefully. I'm not nocking anyone for wanting to do it, I'm just curious as to if the FAA requires you to go through just about as much trouble getting a glider pilot license as they do a regular pilot license, then WHY anyone wouldn't just fly a regular small plane? If it was easier to get a glider pilot license or if you didn't need one at all, then I could understand. Because I guarantee you that if the DMV made people go through the same trouble to ride a bike or moped as they do a motorcycle, then there would be a LOT less people riding bikes.
Noice
What kind of glider does he have?
Hello gues, my from Indonesia, i like your hoby
Hi Bruno! I'm interested in going on an intro flight in a glider. Can you or anyone in the comments help me find somewhere I can do this? I'm in Provo Utah Thanks!
Hi Austin. Do a google search for Utah Soaring Association and there is a contact way to request this. Hope you have a great time!
What is the control lever on the left there that you keep adjusting?
the flaps, adjusting to slow the glider and keep it in the lift for longer, i think...
@@SilverCanary1 so maybe it changes the pitch of the wings? They don’t have flaps do they? Never been in a glider
@@henryravenel6797 they're actually flaps sorry
ended too soon
