  • this session started slow hunting that double barrel roll in with ivan and just grew in intensity till dark! each set bigger type of session as the swell filled in, and yes as soon as i claimed that "best duck dive ever" pipeline was quick to show me who was boss! i swear i traveled about 300 meters under water in that final duck dive lol!!! enjoy the vid my hekinbobs!!!

Looking forward to more of your style of coverage which is a fresh and honest take on the already crowded space which tries to keep entertaining with heavy edits and music - nothing wrong with those channels but your videos give us another much needed look - Minagof yan Minaolek Guatu Giya Hågu!

  • The moment he said something about making that duck dive you knew he was going to pay for it. I'm going to take advantage of Nathan's audience and try to get another surfer's point of view on dealing with SI (Sacroiliac) joint pain. I've researched it and have all the varied info from PT's etc... but nothing from another actual surfer. If you're unfamiliar it can occur on either side of the pelvis and you get a debilitating pain down through the butt cheek. When you lay on the board to paddle the leg locks up and you can barely even paddle let alone stand up. One good thing is I know what caused/led to it but that's also a bad thing because it's part of my alternate method of standing up after coming back from two hip replacements. This built up over two years and like many who have this condition, I thought it was lower back pain. Any surfers out there who had to deal with this or know others, I'm open to tips, etc... Thanks...

    @lavapix@lavapix2 жыл бұрын
    • Pirformace muscle stretch every day. Don’t over do things when it’s bad or you will bust the rest of your back. Before swimming or surfing or any activity try that stretch. Helps me.

    • @@lavapix i think strengthening the glutes and lower back will be huge man, not experienced with that exact pain but i do know kettle bell swings done with good form as well as deadlifts keep my entire posterior strong and when i stop all the aches like you described come in, training my back, hamstrings, glutes keeps my entire body in line and in one piece, also try some cbd it may help got a link in description,

      @NathanFlorence@NathanFlorence2 жыл бұрын
    • @@NathanFlorence Hey, thanks for the comment and advice. Just started the glute strengthening/stretching and everything around there. Taking it slow. Funny because I can still run/jog uphill like always without pain. I guess because it's not the usual compression injury/soreness. I can't do kettlebells (maybe small ones) or traditional deadlifts. Not enough fingers on my hands for that so I'll improvise doing some other method. I'm slowly putting together a workout plan from all of the advice I'm getting. CBD oil has been great for sleeping. Never stop showing the real struggles of surfing. Paddling out, caught inside, wipeouts, etc... We can all relate to those.
