    • Freeman That and his parents didn’t approve of his wife. I think Kobe went through a dark time during that 3-peat. The media and the public talking about him and Shaq, people downplaying Kobe’s contributions to the team, his parents not going to watch any of his games and not appreciating the house he bought them because he had a Latina wife. Then he had the whole rape accusation when he cheated on his wife. All of that is what I think made him the Mamba. He took his anger and frustration out on the court, and pushed his teammates really hard. I’m sure you’ve seen him yell and push teammates in practice. He wasn’t easy to play with, but he’s a winner.

I remember in 09, he was shooting like 50% from the field and he broke his index finger. instead of sitting out, he played through it by literally adjusting his form to shoot with 3 fingers. Also in 2010, he had a bone spur and even had to drain his knee before every game, games that 99% of the other nba players would've missed. That is the part of kobe's legacy that doesnt get told by stats and how even today, no one will acknowledge. He probably took the same means of travel to get there as he did on the day of this interview, in probably the same vehicle, probably wearing the same gear too, possibly with the same people as well.

  • T-Mac was the first of his kind, 6’9 positionless, complete all around scorer/ball handler who’s green light is to just shoot over the defender, Players like Carmelo, KD, Paul George are all inheritors of tmac style of play.
