Well Kobe was on the itinerary for a flight coming back from Italy. So he called my friend and told him Kobe was going to be landing there. Well my friends Dad asked Kobe if he'd spend a sec with his son for a pic. Well he ended up spending 20 minutes with him. Kobe gave a regular Joe 20 minutes of his busy life to a relative nobody. That meant everything to my friend.

Even though Kobe did way more than I could ever dream of on the court, he was in my exact position pushing his 13 year old daughter on and off the court. I can see all of the excitement, smiles before the games, pep talks on the way to games, watching his daughter be a silly teen with her friends while enjoying life. It is all a father could hope to be a part of and to have that along with everything else stripped away is just too much to bear.
