    • Paul pierce surpassed them too, except kobe , pierce may not have the popularity in the early days excpet for the unexpected ecf run in 02 but he stayed relevant to pass tmac, carter and a.i. , but kobe just on another level stayed elite avoiding injuries

    • Wad Jay back then there was a talk that it's because of shaq that kobe was shining, outside and in the league..people don't understand why kobe did not wanna play with shaq anymore, but that's just being competitive. He had to win without shaq or his legacy wouldn't have been what it is, people would forever say he only won cause of shaq dominance in the finals, but he proved them wrong...to the point he beat a 3 hall of famer plus an allstar team in 2010, without shaq.

Injuries slowed him tremendously and also Paul got help with a still very good KG a sharp shooter like Ray Allen and a up and coming floor general like Rondo. If T-Mac had those pieces he wouldn't lost to Kobe in the finals neither to LeBron and I don't care who he had as teammates.

  • Paul Pierce doesn't get enough credit he scored over 20 points per game most seasons and was one of the most clutch players to ever play the game. He pretty much has it all on his resume. He has won a championship, great stats, made a bunch of game winning shots in the playoffs and a great defensive player.

    • I think it's easy for people to forget how good certain players were. Same thing happens with Barkley. Dude's a Krispy Kreme joke now and people forget he was an MVP, arguably the best Power Forward in the world at one point, and went to the Finals. Sir Charles was a beast, and Paul Pierce was always underrated.

Still he averaged like 30/7/6 like every other year. Idk where the assumption of Mac being a bad post season player came from? Before his last years of benching during the playoffs, he was literally 5th on the All Time playoff scoring average at like 29 ppg.

  • As a Kobe fan, I hated Paul pierce and Boston as a kid that these guys are retired, I miss watching each and everyone of em cause love em or hate em they were competitive and would go to war every time they faced off and there wasn’t no happy friendship ball like today, they couldn’t stand each other but respected each ones game and with Kobe stating in his book how great these guys were.. shows that you don’t have to like em but when it’s all said and done he couldn’t be who he is without them and they could not be who they are without him... 2000-2010 was if not the greatest era in basketball

    • Tony Allen shut Kobe's ass down in the 2008 finals. Even Ray Allen was having a lot of success guarding him in that series. Tayshaun Prince also shut him down in the 2004 finals. Kobe has been shut-down or slowed down by great defenders a lot of times in his career.

  • Tmac in his prime and healthy was an impossible matchup. 6-9 with Shooting touch, athleticism, post game, handles, passing skills, mid range, long range tmac was as complete offensively as any perimeter player thats ever played. Pierce not only as a scorer but as a overall player is one of the most underrated in recent memory. pierce offensively was also impossible cuz like kobe said he was great at using his body and paul like tmac also could shoot from anywhere, post, pull ups, mid and long range. few players consistently got to the free throw line as much as pierce did.

    • Lebron knows his own strengths and weakness, why would he try and go one on one with Kobe? I always said that the reason why lebron won most of the match ups against Kobe is because lebron was smarter. Kobe stated that he takes it upon himself to guard lebron because in his mind he would be disrespecting lebron’s greatness. Lebron on the other hand just straight up doesn’t have the footwork mid range j and fundamentals. Not to say he is bad but Kobe is the most fundamentally sound player ever.
